HAD ONE ON AN EMPTY STOMACH AND NOW TIME FOR THE BIG SHOW
OH god it’s a CHRISTMAS EPISODE. our core four pairs have broken up, fp is about to die and it’s a CHRISTMAS EPISODE
mary booked a singles cruise so i guess they couldn’t get molly ringwald for more eps this season
yay my girl polly’s back for a presumably horrifying dream sequence
That Kubrick-esque centered shot of Hood!santa climbing over the couch back????? *kisses fingers like cartoon italian chef*
Cheryl still EXPECTS her mother to put out jason’s stocking and demands to know what such a tiny candycane is doing in their home because she is still GRIEVING but still SO MUCH . this is what the death of a twin looks like take fuckin note marvel
Also nana rose didn’t die in the fire? so that’s nice.
“86,000″ “what- dollars?” like the hospital in smalltown usa might charge people in pesos or forint- godbless you archie
“Kevin’s secret santa has a 20$ limit” “Kevin needs to chill” no, v, YOU need to chill. or rather don’t. because we love you so much.
“Havent you heard? we’re still friends!” “oh yeah. isnl’t everyone?” i love these girls almost as much as the lund and byerly’s checkout lady who never judges my wednesday night sale sushi runs
fp looks so thin without his jacket and warm vestiges i’m worried about him is he taking his vitamins eating his spinach if he has been surviving on hot pockets and beer since he got out i will be so cross with him
“BOY.” i’m DISTRAUGHT. fp and jughead are living together again and we’re finally getting to see what that looks like and it’s exactly as heartbreaking as we knew it would be
also fp wears his wallet with a stylish chain that goes from his pocket to his beltloop because it’s apparently 2008 in that trailer
“Couples massage.... thanks” “You can go with betty!” audience: YES PLEASE.
also who the fuck would do a couples massage with their highschool boyfriend- veronica lodge that’s who, but who ELSE.
archie didn’t spend any money on his gift and it is obviously the ebst one int he exchange and we love him
MOOSE AND MIDGE ARE HERE TO MAKE THINGS WEIRD FOR KEVIN (HOPEFULLY)
REGGIE *SPRINTS* TO HUG MOOSE AND THE SHIP I DIDN’T KNOW I NEEDED EMERGES
oh dear. mr. svenson. of course i love that betty and co. know the janitor at their school’s name. is that normal? i went to an enormous highschool- i barely knew my teacher’s names half the time. but i imagine it’s very sweet and very betty of her.
oh god jughead came to riverdale high for the gift exchange because he’s a good dude. a good dude.
his little SMILE when he feels how heavy it is is the most boyish he’s looked since the scene where we find out fp is his dad in the drive in episode and I’M NOT OKAY
veronica giving archie an expensive engraved watch is CLASS COMMENTARY and it is very good of archie to try to explain that to her calmly and without accusation or bitterness i don’t know if i would handle it that well cuz fun fact i once accused a guy of making me into Pygmalion because he tried to take me to a restaurant with multiple spoons
jughead wants to help but now sweetpea has replaced joaquin as the unreasonably beautiful surrogate son fp feels more comfortable putting in danger than his own kid help
what is the point of showing cheryl is interested in buying a tree? other than maybe she’s going to spend more than her mom can afford now??? or that she’s back at archie now that josie is weirded out by her possessive obsessive tendencies? not sure what the point of that was
nice reverse zoom/dolly into a dutch angle on this modest janitor house
the parole officer calls him “jughead” that is all
hermione and hiram being deliberately flirty in front of veronica after she and hermione had that talk about loving one’s partner
“Since when are you a communist *deliberate eyeroll at hiram*” i still can’t tell whether season 1!hermione or season 2!hermione is the act and i’m still RIVETED
okay it was to show she’s just spending a bunch of money to piss off penelope who coincidentally, is wearing a WINNER of an outfit rn damn son i have that but like- not as good cuz my black lace sheath is from target
not to take credit away from cheryl’s high quality cherry sweater
“you should have drowned them at birth like a basket of kittens” NANA ROSE. NANA FUCKIN ROSE. COMIN IN HOT FOR THE HOLIDAYS.
i honestly don’t know if it’s ever stated if nana rose is penelope’s mom or clifford’s but judging purely on penelope’s eyeroll and non-verbal expression of “UGG. MOTHERRRRR” i’mma say her’s.
betty pulls her sweater over her hands when approaching her mother because how often did alice tug roughly at young!betty’s clothes to make sure she was PICTURE PERFECT at all times
we all knew that it was going to be a finger right we all knew
and of course she only tells archie because this is betty cooper we’re talking about
“would the sisters talk to us?” “pft- they better” betty’s gunna beat up a nun
also my first assumption is that the janitor’s sin is pointing out the wrong guy to the lynch mob??? could be wrong but it seems kinda odd that archie isn’t bringing up that part of the story
the lodges have the same “christmas classics” cd as my mom because of course they do
the fact that veronica finds the deed to pop’s and doesn’t react in shock or anger but sits back in her dad’s leather office chair and crosses her legs to think things over is CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
jughead knows fp too well to apologize for thinking badly of him and the duffles and IT HURTS SO GOOD
“maybe this isn’t gunna work- us living together” FP ISN’T A DAD HE’S A BIG BROTHER AND I KEEP SAYING IT BUT IT KEEPS HURTING EVERY TIME IT’S PROVEN TRUE
oh god jughead is calling on the next gen serpents for help this isn’t going to end well, son
“take out penny” take out? TAKE OUT???? TAKE OUT?!?!?! JUGGIE. take a nap.
sweet pea and fangs are either the bestest of bros or engaged to be wedded i can’t decipher their eye communication exactly
the serpents are FACTIONING and this CANNOT end well
“it was a group of men... and one woman” FOUNDING FAMILIES FOUNDING FAMILIES FOUNDING FAMILIES
next gen serpents are going to fuck everything up and i can’t take jughead trying to do an intimidating under the brows stare seriously
we all think that nun is the drug dealer lady in the wheelchair right?
“white with a cherry red stripe” THAT’S MY GIRL. THAT’S MY NANA ROSE. BACK WITH PLOT AND BACKSTORY. BATTING FOR THE TEAM. NANA ROSE BLOSSOM.
“the truth” THE LODGE TRUTH. HOOO BOY. *pours another drink*
OH MY GOD IS HE CUTTING IT OFF JUGHEAD. JUGHEAD. BETTY HAS BEEN A BAD INFLUENCE ON YOU.
i just pictured fp’s face if he saw this and did the most ridiculous puppy whine
“oh noooo. no girls allowed” NANA ROSE BLOSSOM. MY MAIN GIRL.
founding families. what did i say.
hefty sigh at barchie kiss. like- i’d be more into this if they actually built it and didn’t keep breaking up and putting everyone back together back and forth
oh cheryl saw- THAT i’m interested in
they’re not going to tell us the lodge truth because they’re bastards
penny didn’t show up for your pickup, did she?” “no.... no she didn’t.” JUGHEAD IS THE PARENT AND FP IS THE KID AND IT IS HORRIBLE AND PERVERSE AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH
“this life you tried to protect me from? i’m proud of it!” *WHALE NOISES* FP’S FACE. FP’S *FACE*. THIS IS THE LOOSE HENRIAD CRIME FAMILY AU I’VE BEEN HURTING FOR.
oh god there’s one black guy in the picture please don’t tell me our sweet angel pop was involved in this how old is pop he’s not old enough right tell me he had no part in this
*DISTRESS SCREEEEE*
UNMASK HIM BETTY UNMASK HIM ARCHIE IS FINE HE’S A BIG STRONG BOY WHO CAN TAKE A LITTLE DIRT IN HIS FACE
oh god oh god oh god did sheriff keller shoot bh so he can’t talk oh god oh god oh god
this is too easy and we all know it i’m still pulling my multiple killers theory and i haven’t given up on shady!keller yet
weird sound editing trying to give studio quality to josie and kevin just jammin acapella outside a diner
WHO THE FUCK IS PENELOPE SNOGGIN ON XMAS MORN?!?!?!
YASSS JUGHEAD GETS HER A SIGNED FIRST EDITION OF BELOVED WHICH I HAVE BASICALLY BEEN WAITING FOR SINCE BETTY SAID SHE LOVES TONI MORRISON IN EPISODE ONE. well- not exactly this. but that IS one of my alltime favorite books and a huge influence on my own gothic writing so to see it referenced on this show is just GRAND
we all know it’s not over juggie, we all know.
Episode Scorecard:
Number of sick beat drop rhythmic editing moments: none
Episode hair MVP: Nana rose’s stripe was featured as a plot point and is always of the highest quality
Do I still miss Joaquin: yes
Episode outfit MVP: Penelope’s black lace sheath
Cast/Crew shoutout: There were some really solid cinematography moments, but I would have liked to see better editing? pacing was a bit rough.

FP Jones/Andrews family/Riverdale imagines - Oh Dear Part 3
AN: Okay, here we go. New update!
(Part One) (Part Two)
Overall Summary: You’re Archie’s old sister and you have a thing for a certain serpent
Pairing: Reader x FP Jones, Sister!Reader x Archie Andrews, Daughter!Reader x Fred Andrews
Word count: 3,012
Warnings: Well, FP is clearly older than the reader in this fic, underage drinking (for USA), also don't drink and drive kids.
You thought things were going well after the moment with FP. Well, things were going well considering it was a small town with a murder case on it’s hands.
Your grades were good, there was no major drama in the social circles and your dad was just about to start his new project.
Everything seemed to be going fine until the Blossoms bought out every construction crew in the state leaving your dad with no men and no money.
“Maybe you could get some of your football player buddies to help? Dad needs strong workers who are willing to follow schedule and destroy some stuff.” You suggested as you, Jug and Archie sat in the kitchen munching on pizza.
“I mean I was thinking about that, I could ask around.” Archie nodded, seemingly liking the idea.
“I’d be willing to help.” Jughead’s in.
“Okay, great. Get as many of you can and then go to Dad’s after school.” You say as you take a mouthful of pizza,
“Sounds like a plan.” Jughead smiles slightly and takes his plate to the sink.
“Archie?” You mutter as you near your younger brother.
“Yeah?”
“Dad’s gonna be alright, isn't he?” You ask quietly,
“I hope so. Anyway, you’re the oldest one here, aren't you supposed to be the reassuring one?” Archie tried to lighten the mood but there were no doubt that you all were worried about this situation.
Archie did what you suggested and gathered some of his football guys and took them to the construction site after school.
It supposedly went all right and they worked until dark. Archie had phoned you to let you know how the afternoon went and how grateful your dad seemed but then you later got a second phone call to tell you that someone had trashed your dad’s equipment and beaten Moose, one of Archie’s friends.
You rushed to the construction site as soon as you hung up.
“Hey, you okay?” You asked as you jogged up to your dad, you had past the sheriff on your way in.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Moose is pretty beat up but he’s a tough kid, he should be okay.” Fred sighed and shrugged his shoulders loosely.
You nodded your head, relieved nothing else had happened.
“What did the sheriff say?” You asked,
“Nothing much, said they’d keep an eye out but I don't think we’ll have much luck with the sheriff on the Blossom’s payroll.” Fred said openly,
“You really think he could’ve done this? Send some rough guys to come and trash the site?” You asked, you noticed Archie and Juggy coming your way.
“I don’t know, maybe but Archie said it could've been the Serpents so I guess we just have to be extra careful from now on.” Fred told you just as Archie reached you.
“Is Moose okay?” You asked the boys to immediately change the subject.
“His name’s Moose, he’s fine.” Jughead teased, you rolled your eyes but laughed at the comment.
Your smile dropped when you saw the storm brewing behind Archie’s eyes. He looked like he could've hurt someone right there and then.
“Hey dad, why don't I take Archie and Jug home and you lock everything up?” You offered, Archie needed to go home and sleep this over.
It’s not like you weren’t angry, you were, but if it really was the Blossum’s or the Serpents, you weren’t going to go around gun blazing to find out who it was and try and shut them down.
“Sure, thanks.” Your dad sent you a grateful look and you took the boys to your car.
You saw Archie about to open his mouth to rant but quickly shut him down.
“No! No talking. Bitching and moaning won't make this situation any better, Archie.” You also didn't want to hear it so you just told him that.
The next morning you were going to check if Archie had calmed down but Valerie was round and you didn't want to intrude.
“He calmed down yet?” You asked Jughead as he was about to leave the house.
“You’re kidding?” Jughead raised his eyebrows at you. You sighed and leant against the wall. “Call me if he tries to do anything stupid.” Jughead asked, well more like told you before leaving the house.
“Don’t I always?” You called back to him just as the door shut.
“Hey, thanks for coming early to help set up.” Polly beamed one of the cooper’s signature bright smiles at you.
She looked beautiful, the pregnancy made her glow and she looked genuinely happy however you could also spot the nerves behind those smiley green eyes.
“No problem, Pol. What are friends for?” You had been friends with Polly considering Betty and Archie got along so well but you weren’t the bestest of friends, especially once she started getting with Jason Blossom, the guy you never really liked all that much... until he died of course.
But you and Polly always got along when you needed to and Polly did consider you a friend.
“Okay, we’ve got an hour until people start arriving and the food is almost ready so we are just about on track.” Veronica bounced into the conversation.
You noticed Polly let out a shaky breath, she ran her hand over her stomach and pushed a smile onto her lips.
“Hey, everything will be fine, no matter who turns up tonight.” You assured her. Betty had told you that Polly was anxious because their mom might not show and the Blossoms were also invited to this shindig but at least by Polly’s request.
You suddenly heard the familiar sound of your ringtone from across the room where you had left it on the coffee table.
“Excuse me.” You leave the girls to chat while you answer the phone. As you make your way across the room, you take a second to acknowledge that Jughead is helping Betty in the kitchen and smile at the sweet scene.
You answer your phone without checking the caller ID cause of the cute distraction.
“Hello?” You answer,
“Hey, uh, (Y/n)?” It was FP. You felt your heart stop for a moment. “You there?” FP asked as you then realised you didn't respond.
“Yeah, I’m here. What’s up?” You asked,
“Look, I just called your dad but I thought you should know your brother just came into a bar on the south side. I don't know what he’s looking for but it don't seem good.” FP informed you.
You groaned and rolled your head back.
“Alright, thanks for letting me know.” You hung up and tucked your phone into your skirt pocket.
“Polly, I’m sorry but somethings happened at home and I have to go.” You told Polly as you reproached her.
“Is everything okay?” Polly frowned, you nodded and sighed.
“Yeah... I’m sorry. I left you a present on the gift table if I don’t make it back.” You apologised and gestured back to the small bag on the gift table.
“It’s okay, I don't mind. Just go, your family needs you.” Polly smiled sweetly and ushered you out of the apartment.
You quickly slid into your car and made your way to the south side of town.
FP had automatically text you the name of the bar since you never really came to the south side of town often.
You didn't pull into the parking lot of the bar just in case your dad showed and recognised your car so you parked a little over a block away and walked to the bar.
You hid slightly when you saw your dad’s truck, your eyes quickly caught hold of where your dad was but Archie was no where to be seen.
FP was talking to Fred outside the front doors of the bar. You waited a little while before watching your dad turn back to the car and drive away.
“Hey! FP!” You raised your voice as FP went to go inside.
“(Y/N)? What are you doing here?” FP asked, his eyes running over your body and you suddenly felt very out of place.
“You told me Archie was here, I came to get him before my dad but clearly Archie fled before either of us could grab him.” You pointed behind your shoulder to where your dad’s truck had just been.
“Yeah. He was. He’s gone now.” FP told you, “Little dressed up aren't we?” He asked, finally commenting on your attire.
You looked down at your tight bandage skirt and loose blouse, at least you had the sleeves rolled up to your elbows.
“Yeah... I, um, I had a baby shower I was supposed to go to but I cancelled because you called.”
“Sorry, I didn't mean to take you away from all that.” FP teased you, you shook your head at him and folded your arms across your chest.
“Well, I dragged myself all the way over here, you could at least buy me a drink?” You suggested, nodding towards the biker bar behind him.
“You sure you can handle a place like this?” FP continued to toy with you, you cocked your eyebrow at the man and smirked.
“You’re a serpent, I think I’ll be fine.” You had heard that Juggy’s dad used to be apart of the serpents when he was younger and you thought he was done with it but from the look of his jacket and where he chose to spend his pass time, you knew that wasn’t quite true.
FP chuckled at your remark and held his arm out for you to go first.
You entered the bar with FP’s hand on your lower back, you suddenly felt very small and very out of place.
FP nodded and muttered to a few guys as you made your way over to the bar. You could feel some of the serpents eyes on you, more the guys than the women in the bar.
You saw FP gesture to the bar tender and two beers were soon handed over.
“Here.” FP gave you yours and you smiled.
“Thanks.” You said, quickly taking a mouthful to settle your nerves. “So this is where you spend your all your time?”
“Well, it’s where the guys seem to gather. It lets me keep an eye on things, play a bit of pool, have a couple drinks, and the guys have a chance to let me know of any trouble circling the south side.” FP explained, you leant against a bar stool and smirked at him.
“Trouble? You’re the south side serpents, aren’t you meant to be the trouble?”
“Well, we try not to be.” FP lead you over to an empty pool table. “You play?”
“Sort of.” You placed your bottle down and pick up a pool cue. FP watched carefully as you rounded the table to stand beside him. The corner of his mouth upturned.
“You any good?” FP asked, taking a pool cue himself.
“I’m alright.” You smirked up at the man. FP shook his head lightly as he chortled.
“Well, why don't we put some money on this?” FP called over one of his guys and set up the balls for you.
“You’re not playing?” You asked as he saw his step back and hand the cue to his guy.
“I’ve got nothing to bet with.” FP admitted,
“Yes!” You jumped up as you won the third game in a row. FP laughed at the sorry bastard who was glaring at you.
“Hand it over.” FP held out his hand for the money you had just won.
“Got quite the girl there, FP. Where’d you find her?” One of the other Serpents had patted FP on the back as he observed you. FP looked over at you to which you were laughing with some of the younger serpents and finishing your drink, you had moved onto root beer since you were driving home.
“Yeah, don’t get any ideas, Bill.” FP laughed, shrugging the man’s hand off.
FP pushed past a couple of his guys to get to you.
“Your winnings.” FP tucked the dollar bills into the front pocket of your blouse.
“Thank you.” You smiled widely and placed your pool cue down. “I should probably get going, it’s getting late and I would’ve been expected back a while ago.”
“I’ll walk you out.” FP placed his hand on your back which made your heart skip just like earlier and guided you out of the crowded bar. “Did you drive?”
“Yeah, my car’s just a block or so over.” You pulled out your car keys and FP offered to walk you without hesitation.
“So, college, you made any decisions yet?” FP tried to make conversation as you head down the street, away from the bar.
“No, I’ve been looking at some places quite close to home but I don't know. I don't know if I even wanna spend the next three to four years of my life in a class, I mean high school has been stressful so I can't imagine what college is like.” You admitted, FP noticed you started to shiver.
“Here.” FP removed his serpents jacket and offered it to you. “Why not just not go?” He continued the conversation, his brow furrowed as you stared down at you.
You tugged on the leather jacket which was already warm from FP wearing it, it hung off you with sleeves that were too long but smelled just like him.
“It’s something both my parents want. My mom wants me to Northwestern but I think that’s just cause she wants me closer to her but I don't want to be far from Riverdale.” You explained,
FP decided to drop the conversation as he could see it was a slight down subject for you.
“Maybe I should just be a serpent.” You joked, wiggling your eyebrows at FP.
“I mean the jacket definitely suits you.” FP and you laughed together, and you swatted him with one of the ridiculously long sleeves.
“Ooo, this is me.” You spotted your car and jogged up to it, FP followed casually behind you. You unlocked your car and opened the door, leaning on it as you spoke to FP. “Thanks for tonight, it was actually the most fun I’ve had in a while.”
“No problem, it was my pleasure.” FP opened his arms and nodded his head.
“Oh, and thanks for calling me about Archie. That kid can just be so thoughtless sometimes.” You thanked him again, unable to remember whether you already had before.
“Hey, he’s just an emotional kid, I get why. Just make sure I don't see him on this side of town again.” FP winked at you, you felt your cheeks flush and thanked god that it was too dark for FP to notice.
You removed FP’s jacket reluctantly and placed a couple of the bills you had won that night in his pocket then threw it back to him.
“What’s this for?” FP asked, holding up the money you gave him.
“See you around, FP.” You sung as you ignored his question, getting into you car. FP raised his hand and waved as you drove off.
You sat back in your car seat as you parked out the front your house and smiled to yourself. The smell of FP still slightly lingering on you.
God, you were hopeless. You giggled at yourself and leant your head back.
You’re cliché moment was soon brought to an end when you saw your dad open the front door and look down at you with an unimpressed look.
Your smile dropped and you exited the car.
“Where have you been?” Fred asked as you walked up to the house.
“Out.” You said bluntly,
“(Y/n). You know you can't just come and go as you please, I at least have to know where you are.” Fred closed the front door behind you as entered the house. “You reek of smoke.” Fred’s unimpressed look suddenly turned into anger.
“I was with some friends. Sorry, I didn't call.” You tried your best to lie convincingly.
“I thought you were going to the baby shower.” Fred followed you into the kitchen. You didn't want to look him in the face, he’d probably catch on that you were lying if you did, so you started to unpack the snacks that you picked up from the gas station on the way back.
“I was meant to but I lost track of time and... Look, I’m sorry. It won't happen again.” You pulled out a bottle of water from the fridge and Fred watched you leave the kitchen.
“Where you been?” Archie asked, stopping you in the hallway.
“Where have you been, Archie?” You snapped back, Archie’s eyes widened a little at the sudden raise of your voice.
“What?” He asked,
“Why did you go to the serpents? Why didn't you just leave this to the sheriff?” You folded your arms across your chest, facing your younger brother.
“You know as well as I do that Sheriff Keller won't do anything.” Archie tried to defend himself.
“Fine, but the Serpents, Archie? Are you purposely trying to look for a fight?”
“Hey, it wasn’t me that started this fight.” Archie rose his voice at you and you scoffed.
“Neither did the Serpents, Archie and you know that and FP even told dad that it wasn’t them.”
“Did you know Jughead’s dad was a serpent?” Archie stepped towards you,
“Of course I didn't but there was rumours, Archie. Look, just forget about this, please. It’s not your problem.” You started to walk towards your room, leaving the conversation
“It’s not yours either. Look, I wanna help, okay? I just want to help dad.” Archie called after you. You stopped again and looked back at him.
“If you really wanna help, don’t start fist fights with people you don't even know caused the problem.” You said before closing your down on him.
You felt your phone buzz and you looked down to see who it was.
**Incoming call: FP Jones**
