Magolor is absolute ass at sorcery

Magolor may seem (and act - oh boy he DEFINITELY acts) like he’s an amazing magician but...

Halcandrans were a race known as master sorcerers, even though their main talents were with technology. For them, magic is basically an instinct. It’s like walking to them. In fact, the average Halcandran is able to use magic subconsciously by the age of 12. That includes opening dimensional rifts.

Magolor cast his first spell at the age of 10.

And for him, magic is still a voluntary action. So in other words his magic skills are worse than a 12 year old. Compare that to the more magic-oriented Halcans and that is nothing. But then again, it’s the Halcandrans we’re talking about.

When Taranza watched a very proud Magolor use magic in a battle, he was appalled to say the least. Because this egg has NO CONCEPT OF PROPER FORM.

I’m rambling again and going off topic here -

Floralians are also magic users, but they focus on order, appearances, and methods rather than the magic itself. For them, “proper” magic is the dedication to one or two types of spells and perfecting every variation of them. “Spamming” spells is practically a crime.

So when Taranza sees Magolor doing those weird motions with his hands and throwing half-assed spells at his enemies, while using so many dimensional rifts that it’s not even funny... and when he acts like he just pulled off the best magic anyone’s ever seen afterwards...
