tbh best decision i’ve made for my own organization was getting a shelf system for my clothes where everything is immediately visible without having to open a whole bunch of drawers cause it actually motivates me to keep things tidy and folded and not just balled up, AND i also remember that I own more than three shirts and can actually vary my daily outfits

#shhh sharkie #it’s like a 4x5 square shelf thing from ikea #i have wire baskets for folded clothes and some cloth ones for things like socks and underwear #so like if it’s messy i can SEE #and I can like regularly see and easily sort through all my shirts and pants when deciding on clothes without stuff getting too buried #it’s definitely an adhd thing cause like when stuff hides away in drawers and closets i like. forget that it gets messy?#or i’m more willing to just shove something in without folding it and then just forget about it #until x amount of time later when i do actually want to wear that thing and it’s wrinkled to hell #now that i can see it all clearly and its in my bedroom so i look at it whenever i’m in there for anything #AND also knowing that if I have people over they’ll be able to see it all too #pushes that motivation button to keep it tidy and fold and store clothes properly #i do get like familiar environment mess blindness still like a lot of my apartment is still just ‘ah yes the pile of boxes’#but at least for my clothes i FINALLY figured out an organization system that actually works for me
