#it is very interesting tho talked abt how usa and canada do have a focus on like hyphenating or keeping a social difference ex. a food made#by someone from the diaspora becomes ‘syrian canadian’ food for example#whereas in latin america there is no need to be like. BTW. we are not the same as them#like people are much more easily integrated into latine culture while still maintining and staying connected to their arab identities#also discussions of how arabs and latine cultures share similar values and attitudes and like etc etc w food music whatever basically#<- that was described badly prof said it better. but yk#similar values is not the right word. but attitudes and whatever align more than w like usamerica yk. its that third world feel and chaos#and i think a lot of this agreeableness comes from senses of community rather than like. Western individualism yk#thatt was my last arab cultures class im devastated#z.txt
