my theory that there are no more habitable stars within millennia of ours is making these quests slightly more bleak,

But I think the meteia destroyed them all#they have had more or less TWELVE THOUSAND YEARS to do it mind you#which kind of plays into my funny headcanons bc that’s barely enough time for widespread evolution (just variation on basic levels)#but I think that in the first ages that we don’t know much about they were a) much longer than the later ages and b) all of that creation#magic was still floating around trying to do stuff before it settled#so people were VERY quickly developing and abandoning traits just by. desiring them#quickly as in a few generations at a time#it calmed around the first astral era; wherein gods became men and creation magics more or less vanished
