Pffffffffffttt…
… How did I forget that??? I literally forgot Adler tries to play the son card, while literally talking about how Peter’s a threat to his plans. And it’s just like lol sorry bitch, Neal’s got a real dad now.
Also the way Neal keeps looking between dead Adler and Peter like, well I’m sure he’s traumatised by the whole nearly getting shot thing, but like… Like he almost can’t believe Peter just did that for him.
Tragically, Mozzie then has to inadvertently ruin it, but it was great while it lasted.
#White Collar#the things that coulda been had they gotten to continue#not gonna lie I totally forgot Peter killed him#bc he was pointing a gun at Neal like how's that for karma#which just gives more fuel to my interpretation of why he didn't shoot James#bc look at his track record#he shoots Fowler for pulling a gun on Diana and messing w/ Neal#he shoots Adler for pointing a gun at Neal#he's shot any number of criminals several of whom were pointing guns at Neal (yes a trend XD)#but he doesn't shoot James not even to injure#he gives him a warning shot#and I bet my fancy figurines (no I don't I paid good money for those) it's bc James was Neal's father#meanwhile I don't blame either Peter or Neal for being upset at the end there#after seeing that painting scrap Peter has right to be suspicious#unfortunately Neal genuinely didn't do it so he's caught completely off guard and genuinely hurt#see it's possible to do well done understandable arguments for these two!#they can end up saying things that hurt each other w/ reason#Peter is justified in accusing Neal and I think he's taking it extra hard bc of everything that happened#but like above Neal actually has NO IDEA so to him the accusation comes out of nowhere bc he didn't see the painting scrap#ironically if he had things mighta cleared up sooner bc Neal would be shocked to see his painting in the remains#but you can tell this hurts both of them#Peter doesn't WANT Neal to have done this but he's Peter he cares about the truth#Neal's traumatised and confused how Peter went from shooting someone for him to accusing him#it's like Adler's last curse#and they're both such good actors that the pain is absolutely palpable#Matt Bomer looks like he's about to burst into tears and Tim DeKay is the definition of the agonised stoic#like how the hell did we go from this to those ooc lines in s5??? HOW????#Adopt a Felon 101
