Closed Starter for Ariadne & Dionysus { @hxlcycnx } Location: their home

Ariadne had only just put Malva, her and Dionysus's daughter, to bed with a gentle smile on her lips as she closed the door to her room. The smile that her daughter put on her face fell, as a worried frown pulled at her lips while she wondered where her husband was. Normally, Dio was home in time for their bedtime routine, since he was the only one who was able to calm Mal down when it was bath time. The brunette even tried to call his office at the bar, only for the call to go right to voicemail. Ari tried to distract herself by cleaning up after their daughter, as the worries still swam in her head.

A sigh escaped her after it's been an hour of her cleaning, and still no sign of her husband. Her worries grew more as she wondered if he was okay, yet before those worrisome thoughts fully took over her head, she heard keys in the lock. Ariadne now knew her husband was home, and her worries would cease, so with a smile she moved to greet him at the door. What she saw caused a fresh frown to appear as she furrowed her brows, while dark hues took in the sight of Dionysus.

Ariadne knew what he was the god of, knowing that he liked a drink or two before he came home from work. Yet, something was off about her husband tonight, as he looked more undone than he normally did. He looked more drunk than she ever seen him. "Dio?" The brunette questioned, moving to place a hand on his arm softly. "Are you alright, my love?"

#4. Do they always share their food with eachother? If so, do they both also have a favorite food that they like to share with eachother as well? (Bonus points if they do it in lovey dovey couple style too)

If Rosesona is eating something tasty he will stop at nothing to make sure Waver has a bite or two also. Its the Italianism. Rosesona loves feeding Waver because he loves him and he loves watching his face when he eats something good and loves watching his usually stern expression soften and his eyebrows raise in astonishment when he has something delicious for the first time....... um. IS IT LOVEY DOVEY? not that much they're not like slobbering all over each other or anything but you can tell they like each other very much when they're sharing food together. It's in the eyes. And Waver thinks Rosesona has a certain way of smiling when he's actually very truly content and happy that's different than the others that he's always trying to coaxe out in various ways so believe me Waver is trying to get Rose on some treats too...

#10. What's an au you have for them?

There's an AU ... series of AUs kind of built into the canon Rose Chaldea lore. I mean Rosesona is literally a 2nd Magician attached to the Kaleidoscope so it's not like this isn't a thing already. When your power is being able to see and interact and travel to other dimensions, AUs are a given.

After the Beast thing was done and Rose had healed from becoming a Beast and the dust was settled, Rose and Waver made a decision to try and glean more information about Marisbury and the state of Chaldea's conception and the entire Chaldea-FGO dimension by going back to Waver's OG timeline in 2004, post Case Files pre Adventures and figuring out what was going on, what was happening with Lev Lainur, etc... So there's the OG Rose in Chaldea still who is receiving information from different dimensions (honestly overstimulated and overloaded with it and completely miserable about it, much to Waver's chagrin, but hasn't found a better way of blocking off/picking through the constant information overload as a Central Hub Rose just yet) and then there's like, the Rose and Waver and Gray and Reines of London who are trying to live Normally while finding out as much information about the conception of Chaldea and everything that led up to it (and also try to protect Olga Marie if they can)...

Then there's also... after having become a Beast, there's actually a split even there between the Rose who goes back to Chaldea with Waver and recovers from Beasthood vs the Rose who remained behind and made a contract with Dionysus, who, thru Iskandar's worship of Dionysus had been watching The Entire Thing Unfold and offers a chance at "making things right" (see: watching more and more plays ft. Rose as a pseudoservant Beast-vessel thing with Dionysus sort of as a chair on the Board of Directors amongst everyone else in Rosesona's head -_-) .... which leads to Rose-Dionysus Beast servant being summonable in other Chaldeas and then putting himself through a time-loop like torture where he struggles and reconciles with how he could ever love Waver in other universes, what that looks like, what different Wavers he sees -- because although there are certain constants in Lord El-Melloi II's life such as becoming LEM2, his character may change in various ways between dimensions, i.e. this Waver may be more immature, or This Waver may be more serious and harder to get to laugh, or This Waver has might be a little crazier, or This Waver might be more slutty or idfk... etc. there are a lot of different ways that man can exist. (RE: asking an author not if it's OOC but What would it take for this character to Act This Way, dimensional differences that change things + the way people are shaped is by the people they meet as well, and boy is the variety that Chaldea has a basic kaleidoscope in of itself of possibilities)....

.... This is all very funny because in the end we have the OG Rose processing this information from the London timeline and from all these Rose-Dionysus successes or failures or literally anything going on there. I guess the question also is "what is a success for Rose-Dionysus" and "Can he exist without Waver in his life at all" -- which actually for me as an author also begs the question "how can Rose exist without Waver finding any interest in him", which is where those RoseKama AUs also come in but then what if Kama's not there and etc.

a lot of THOSE AUs where Waver is just not even Present in Rose-Dionysus's life end with Rose doing either something self-destructive or him just, IDK. Being very weird. Coming very close to unpersoning himself. I think -- and this is the thing -- the meeting of Waver, the having of Waver in Rosesona's life is what grounds him to humanity.

Without Waver there, there's no reason for him to remain attached to it, so he just decides to transcend entirely and become closer to a concept, one way or the other. If Waver wants to stop it, fine, but if he wants to remain uninvolved and look the other way, there's nothing stopping Rosesona. Is this bad for Rose? I don't know. Transcendence can be liberating. With a transcended Rose, the idea of happiness and sadness no longer need to really exist. But I think some people would be very sad for Rose to exit humanity.

So there's a lot of different writing that exists based off these various AUs... I haven't posted a lot of them. If yall want me to post some Rose-Dionysus AU snippets and such let me know if it interests you. I even wrote something recently that had R-D and Waver talking friendly with each other that I really liked...

How and when did you get into BTS?

I had already listened to BTS ft halsey’s boy with luv, i didn’t bother to look into them much back then, but then my sister discovered them, and she told me check out their other songs, like blood sweat and tears, fire, dope, danger, no more dream, that’s how slowly slowly, I just wanted to know more about them, but as we all know, how it ends. 😂😉 Later, I decided to just stan them, and become a part of army. I became an army in 2019.

Did you make new friends thanks to BTS?

I did!

Has Bangtan influenced your life in any other way?

Yes, in a good way, they’ve taught me to be happy, embrace who i really am, and appreciate myself more, because i’m rare.

toes sink into the warm sand as menelaus is taken on a walk by his forty kilo dog, the leash being tugged by biskóto's force unceremoniously. “why are you like this, mm? why don't you love me? i'm hungover, and you're dragging me around like a ragdoll, come here—” ever playful, biskóto doesn't make it easy to grab him by the collar, but through laughter, mene succeeds. “dumb baby, i'm trying to let you loose,” the leash is removed, and mene wraps it absently around his fist.

with his tongue excitedly handing out his mouth, biskóto bolts at the first moment of freedom, and mene grins watching the ball of fur run lengths on the beach. until biskóto changes his trajectory, and now runs straight for another figure walking along the sand. “hey! bisk! no!” but he clearly hasn't done a good enough job at training, because biskóto doesn't pay him any mind.

is that dion? fuck! “biskóto, you little shit! come back!” mene bolts, but he's far too late, coming to a sudden stop, by which point, biskóto has already jumped up on her with sandy paws. mene grabs the dog by his collar, dragging him back to sit between his legs as anxiety colours his guilty smile, laughing nervously. “shit, i am so sorry. he's a maniac.”

A large social circle was something he’d always made a point of having, whether friends or simple acquaintances. He knew that the carefully constructed web of allies that he’d build could shrink just as easily and so he was constantly trying to add to his numbers. It had been made his mission years ago for every person he spoke to to leave under the illusion that he truly cared about what they had to say. For the most part he did when opinions and insights tended to be useful, the right information could lead to a new angle that could be the key to unlocking the future he wanted. So he paid attention, acutely so, waiting for something useful whilst knowing that allies of any sort were irreplaceable.

The glimpse of silver hair out of the corner of his eye is enough to catch his attention while he waits to be served, easy charm radiating from his smile as he speaks. “Daenerys, it’s good to see you.” There’s perhaps a fondness in his voice or at the very least a small amount of admiration when there was no doubting her talents. “How have you been?”

For as long as she could remember she had been aware of the real family business. Of just how the empire that her grandmother created worked. She was no stranger to the way that their world worked. To the crimes committed nor what it took to stay on top and constantly ahead of the competition. But for all she was far from naive to the realities of what they did, she had never expected that she would have to see her mother the way that she did. It had left her shaken but she still kept an air of calm around herself as best she could as she searched for the rest of her family after being seen to. Head was held somewhat high as she moved through the crowds, determined to give no one the satisfaction of seeing her crumble, despite the tear tracks she knew had been left on her features after her conversation with her father.

At the sight of her grandmother a weak smile touched her lips, hand reaching out for her as she closed the distance between them. “I’m glad you’re okay.” An understatement when she wasn’t sure that she could have beared two losses in one evening and maintained the illusion of togetherness she was currently projecting. “What do we do now?” Usually she might have had a suggestion, a plan already forming in her quick mind but instead her focus was simply on retribution and the gentle fury burning in her doe eyes told as much.

He didn’t mind hospitals, not in the slightest. They were necessary, especially so in his line of work. But what did and always would bother him was the notion of grief or loss, probably because he had never truly dealt with his own. Instead he’d just funnelled it all into a need for revenge and filled the void that his family left with whatever work The Stags gave him. But with no news on Robert’s condition he was forced to uncomfortably wait it out and try not to dwell on the loss that his friend could potentially go through. Unable to wait in silence, he murmured an excuse and started walking not even sure where his destination was until he turned down a familiar corridor. Silently he cursed the numerous initiates who had made him take this path countless times before, enough that he’d clearly memorised it.

Ending up at the right door he peered in only settling himself against the frame upon spotting the familiar strawberry blonde miraculously on her own. He cleared his throat to announce himself before a simple question rumbled from his lips. “Long night?”

It's been made as clear as crystal that he's not allowed inside, but the archer that's watching him like a hawk from several yards away feels like a little much. Despite the demigod's attempts to stay hidden, the descendant of Lycaon can hear and see them. He pretends not to. Footsteps cause yellow eyes to look up and the corner of his lips to twitch. He's not exactly hard to miss, so he doesn't expect to startle them. When he speaks, pointed teeth become apparent.

There’d been something close to a sense of wonder as she’d entered the venue. Of course, she was used to such shows of extravagance but she always had possessed an unwavering sense of curiosity. It was impossible for her to ignore that itching feeling that seemed to beg her to explore it all more deeply. She struck a bargain with herself - she was allowed to wander between the rooms as long as she had some form of company. After all, the opportunity for networking was too good to pass up. But even though she had been doing her best to charm some of those she did not know so well ( and her best was always good enough when she had a natural way with people ) she couldn’t resist the draw of a familiar face. Light steps closed the distance between herself and Edric, appearing at his side. “Have you seen the aquarium yet?”

Amusement sparkled discretely in doe eyes as she indulged in something of a private joke between the two of them. “It’s not quite an Aston Martin or Shelby but I’ve heard it’s worth a look.”

She had always been at ease in public settings when her genuine love of people tended to make all interactions at least somewhat bearable. But the tension in the room was so palpable and so thick that even her soft smiles and sweet words couldn’t cut through it. Still, she had done her best to loosen some of the tension wherever possible - after all this was supposed to be a wedding, unexpected guests aside the newlyweds deserved to enjoy it. But her ability to see the good in others did not mean that she was blind to their flaws and she couldn’t shake the suspicious that something was bound to go wrong sooner or later.

Perhaps that was why she was so quick to find her brother but she knew she would make a beeline towards him no matter the occasion. “Loras.” His name slipped from rosy lips like a sigh of relief, hand reaching up to touch his shoulder lightly. Expression was kept neutral but there was an undeniable hint of concern in her voice as lyrical tones left her. “I do hope this evening isn’t going the way that I think it will.”

To some barricading themselves in might have seemed like the easy way out or perhaps even the coward’s answer to the situation that they had found themselves in. But to him it had seemed like the only logical option. He was no slouch when it came to violence, he’d earned his place as consigliere through his hard work in the ranks as much as through his strategy and charm. The hours had been put in and the crimes committed but even with his confidence in his own skill, he had no knowledge of anyone else’s in the room. With most of her time having been spent with those outside of her family or even Tyrell loyalty, the brunette finally allowed herself a moment to spend with those she loved the most. It was their matriarch that she saw first - the woman that she had spent almost every day of her life trying to make proud. An offering of scotch was made as she greeted the elder woman, smile instantly taking its place on rosy lips. “Grandmother.” There was a warmth in her tone reserved solely for her family. A subtle difference when she tried to greet everyone kindly but to a keen eye there was no denying the sparks of joy in doe eyes or the added brightness on her features. “It’s quite a lovely event.” She meant it really, even if the venue did seem somewhat foreboding it was undeniably striking and she had no complaints with what had been offered to them all.

Small sip was taken of her own glass, filled with bubbling champagne, gaze drifting over the room as she spoke softly. Just clear enough to be heard but not enough to be overheard. “I keep waiting for another surprise.” It was a suspicious she wouldn’t have confessed to anyone else, perhaps not even her brothers. But for all she had been full of sweet smiles and honeyed words, it seemed obvious to her that it was perhaps too good to be true. “It seems strange that they chose to use their meeting for this.”
