“humph. took you long enough, boy. the rest of your brothers are asleep already. you’ve missed the festivities.”
still, vesemir had stayed up for lambert, caring for the him despite the younger’s dislike for his own profession. the older witcher ushered him inside the keep, going to the stew he’d kept warm in anticipation for lambert’s return.
“sit and eat for a while before you go off to bed, won’t you?”
