Let me get this straight, Aes Sedai:

- are outlawed in a couple of nations;

- are hunted by militias that are disliked but still tolerated by the general population;

- cannot attack or conquer on account of the three oaths;

- are enslaved on another continent;

- can be cut out of relations with a nation without repercussions from other nations.

Can someone please explain how and why they are perceived as holding any sort of structural power because I am struggling to parse this one out?

I am not discounting their rigid and obsolete hierarchy, their unwillingness to reform, their wariness toward out-groups or their political manipulation (that said, I don't think it's that much worse than other nations) - these are all elements that make them an interesting and realistic community -, but I am frankly confused about the way some talk about Aes Sedai as if they are the equivalent of billionaires and oligarchs.

To rephrase it, this isn't a question about whether or not Aes Sedai as a group are good or bad - Moiraine covered that in TEotW -, but whether they hold structural power to the extent characters (and fans) think they do. I think a lot of their rules exist to maintain the illusion they do, but in practice they don't and that illusion is the only thing keeping people from treating them like parias.

Just read unthinkable theory about Aventurine Ratio here and feels it's possible...

I think writer using CN dub so I can't catch some questionable SparkleAventurine scene they mentioned but after thinking again with JP dub aside those I remember another questionable scene came from Aventurine in the last two scenes like "is he really that loud person ?"

So yeah maybe that Aventurine is Ratio in disguise.

And then March7 saying about saw someone with plaster head without bidding anything at auction. We can conclude it's Ratio but the question is the reason he came there and is that real Ratio or Aven in disguise

Ratio isn't the Family invited guest, he just came as IPC collaborator as state from HSR official info below (which is the reason Ratio isn't include in credits in bad ending) so I thought the Family or Watchmaker aren't take serious action on him so I thought Aventurine brought Ratio for him to move freely as Ratio but at same time he need someone to act as him unsuspiciously to anyone.

If so, the scene where Ratio says to Aven don't go near Trailblazer could means "I already meet Trailblazer before so don't make them suspicious of us switching"

At the same time I can think how much bigger Aven trust Ratio (as partner) than we thought, there's no way someone can act almost perfectly as other person without any briefing and trusting Ratio would do Aven personal background research. The scene where Ratio asking trust on him feels funnier now (lol)

In the end I think those two still had same purpose, taking Penacony back to IPC though don't know with searching the Family weakpoint or take their good side.

in my fic i've officially decided to make wyatt the campground host and i just. can't stop thinking abt it. he'd be so eager and enthusiastic!! it's the perfect job for him. he'd wear his park ranger uniform shirt everywhere, unbuttoned or layered over hoodies and under sweaters. his favorite part of the job would be getting kids involved with nature, seeing the wonder in their eyes as they explore the forest and observe the wildlife. at the same time, though, he'd work to protect his pack's territory, keep campers away from the borders. ensure everything sacred is kept safe.

the people have spoken, i’ve settled on an fc, here’s a quick wip thing about my new guy. super basic barebones info, just until i have the spoons to write up an actual, full bio. tw for death. lots of death. he’s an executioner so??

His name’s Wolrick (wool - rick). Based in a medieval-fantasy setting. An executioner who’s brought his blade down on kings and peasants, nobles and pirates, etc. It’s how he makes his living. But, twist… he’s a grim reaper, who sustains his life and energy with what he pulls from those he executes. He sees nothing wrong with it, and he doesn’t do it with strictly malicious intent… it’s just how he keeps himself alive. And he actually sees something noble in it. At least if he’s the one swinging the blade, he can control where their souls go, and prevent them from wandering as lost souls. If they’re going to die anyway, he may as well be the one to do it and guide them to the afterlife.

He does also have the rare ability to restore life to those he’s taken life from... only those he personally ended the lives of. And rarely, as he’s loathe to give up his source of food often. But, occasionally, he’ll be forced to execute someone truly innocent and, in that case, when he’s in the process of removing the body, he’ll resurrect them. He also does something most other executioners would scoff at / be appalled at... he meets with the damned in their cell before they’re to be executed, in order to gauge their innocence for himself. He has an uncanny ability to tell when someone has been wrongly accused, and he’s never been wrong about it, yet. And he uses this sense to decide who’s deserving of a second shot at life.

Personality wise, he can be hard to get along with. The life he’s chosen causes most to give him a wide berth, and his social skills reflect that. He’s curt, matter of fact, quiet, gruff. But honest to a fault, matter of fact. If you’re looking for someone to tell it to you straight, he’s your guy.

physical trait-wise: the only possible giveaway he might not be human is his eyes. They are an unusual yellow color, that gives people pause. But, considering he’s usually wearing a full face mask when interacting with people --- aka, doing his job --- it tends to go unnoticed for the most part.
