yes, the massive popularity of pleather is totally because of vegans and not because its like leather but cheaper. youre so smart and insightful. i guess ill go buy some chrome tanned leather now so i can be environmentally conscious

#blah blah no ethical consumption under capitalism but seriously.#the majority of leather is produced in ways that are super bad for the environment #and i almost never see that mentioned in posts pwning vegans #i think its flat out irresponsible to praise leather as a whole and NOT MENTION THAT PART #imho theres barely a meaningful difference between pleather and standard chrome tanned leather #im sure someone could mathematically calculate which is better but anyways #anything thats about as affordable or accessible as pleather is likely NOT actually the great option you want to believe it is #your mass produced leather objects are not gonna be fuckin vegetable or brain tanned #but since thats a tougher battle to fight lets blame the vegans instead
