more on jewish Alice so who knows when she got her first period (e.i. whether it was in captivity or not) but what if she was and she was still Beth so she remembered her life/being jewish. imagine her remembering her mother telling her she's a woman now just moments before the drive, the crash. imagine the fear she must have felt at the idea of telling Cartwright. imagine Mouse sneaking her pads he had to steal that never fit quite right and trashing her bloodied clothes. imagine Cartwright finding out because her cramps are too distracting to keep her fingers straight. imagine the humiliation that swelled in her chest when he looked at her with disgust and the way she had to hold in her tears when he talked so coldly about it. imagine Cartwrights' denial of a mikveh bath afterwards, and Mouse tries to make one of their own but obviously can't follow the requirements so easily. do you think she would have taken a mikveh bath after escaping? for her period or for coming in contact with the dead, AKA making someone dead? yknow she doesn't seem all too connected with her roots, all things considered, but I imagine since Kate always saw Beth as perfect and Beth practiced music for Chanukah that Beth was a very dutiful Jewish daughter. if she healed and reconnected with that, how would she feel after her first mikveh bath, after being a niddah for her whole life?
