Given that claymores come from different generations and the definition of a generation is vague, it's hard to tell how old warriors are. Even awakened beings who are former warriors.
Clare looked to be about 8-10 when she met Teresa. Teresa was already an adult. She didn't appear to be still be still maturing physically, the way we see Priscilla and Clare throughout the series.
Let's assume Clare is 15 at the beginning of the series. By the end, she’s 22.
Let's assume each generation is 10 years, for easier math:
Teresa would've been in her 20s, let's extrapolate from that that Ilena was in her 30s by the end of the series.
Rafaela was an adult when Teresa was still a trainee. Between Luciela and Teresa as number 1s, there were at least two other number 1s: Hysteria and Rosemary. Rosemary was rising in rank at the same time as Teresa. Rafaela then wouldve been in her 30s when she met Teresa as a trainee.
Riful is much older. There have been many number 1s that we never learned about besides names and perhaps more who simply disappeared in history. Number 1s awakening is rare, given that by the start of the series, there are three on the continent and Priscilla who is beyond the ability of an abyssal one.
Riful, as a first generation warrior, is easily over 60 years old. Isley over 70.

Karsh and Ilena are so very, very different in the movies compared to the books. And even between the movies, as Ilena got recast. I do like how their costumes are fittingly autumnal given the overall vibes of the movies (the first one even takes place mostly on Halloween).
Them being a couple in the movies still throws me to this day, as in the books, Karsh is a grandfatherly figure to her and the twins. I also am disquieted by how more comedic and incompetent they are in the movies compared to the books.
On the one hand, I get them wanting to change up Ilena’s characterization as it could be argued that she has a mix of traits from the twins (being a fashionable social butterfly like Camryn, being independent and sharp-tongued like Alex). On the other, I suspect that book!Ilena being like the twins was meant to be foreshadowing that she was their cousin. It’s honestly a bit surprising that the movies didn’t realize to lean into the dramatic reveal of Ilena being Thantos’ daughter. Then again, they removed the third DeBaer brother Fredo and therefore the twist regarding him, so I shouldn’t be that surprised.
I’m trying to reach the same place as I am with Ella Enchanted, where I accept that they’re just two different stories of similar quality with some overlapping aspects, but it is just very jarring to compare and contrast the movies’ Karsh and Ilena to the books’ versions.

"I'm Aruna Damani..." She brushed a strand of hair out of her face, then turned towards the shorter person standing next to her.
"Oh? I gotta introduce myself? I thought Felicity will do that. Well then, I'm Sora Haruki, excited to meet everyone here!" Sora looked around the room, seemingly confused. "Where's Viorel?"
Just in that moment, a broad man came inside the room, carrying a little girl in his arms.
"My apologies, I didn't mean to be late. Ah, I'm Viorel Albu and this princess over here is my daughter Ilena. I'm also very pleased to meet everyone."

I thought there was a parallel between Teresa's era Irene and Clare's era Irene in her appearances but those panels are only slightly similar; so here, have these two vaguely linked images

patrick's bookshelf ( verse one & two )
as a literature professor in verse one (and two), patrick is occupationally obligated to keep a collection of books both in his townhouse and in his office. his office bookshelf is filled mostly with the books he uses to teach his classes throughout the semester, literary criticism, literary theory books, and some of his all-time favorite reads. there's enough in there to cover an entire wall....
the more interesting books selections though actually are in his townhouse aka he actually has two shelves: one in the living room and the personal one in his room. the former has, once again, his all time favorites like pride and prejudice and the iliad, both of which have rather elaborate covers for along with some of the classics both from british and korean literature, greek and roman myths, his recent favorites and then some other books he's amassed from the bookstores....
his personal bookshelf, on the other hand, is much, much smaller- think like, a small shelf on his desk...and compromises of about seven to eight books, two of which are again, pride & prejudice and the iliad. these copies are very old and filled with post-it notes and copious amounts of writing in the margins of every page. he always tries to read at least one of these eight books every year.
if he lets you borrow a copy from his personal bookshelf, it means he trusts you.
( as for verse two, that personal collection got burnt to ash when he was faking his death ( which myungdae lowkey regrets ) and while he has managed to find copies of those eight books, he hasn't gotten to annotating any of them. mostly bc his concentration outside of the black knight is shit. myungdae's book collection in comparison is tiny since it's constrained to a single bookshelf in his apartment- no office book collection. the shelves are filled with many books and covered by thick layer of dust....looking at it makes him feel like a fraud 🙃 )
