Two Day International Conference  on “Computing, Communication and Cyber begins at SMVDU

Two Day International Conference  on “Computing, Communication and Cyber Security (IC4S’05 Volume 1)”  from 29 Feb- 01 March was inaugurated at the “High End Computing AI and Deep Learning Lab”, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, sponsored by Higher Education Department Govt. of J&K UT in association with Springer. The conference inauguration session was graced by the Patron, Prof. Pragati Kumar, Honorable Vice Chancellor SMVDU; Co-Patron Kumud Ranjan Jha, Dean FoE SMVDU, Guest of Honor Prof. Phalguni Gupta, Vice Chancellor GLA University, General Chair Dr. Baijnath Kaushik, Coordinator Dr. Ajay Kaul and Dr. Sakshi Arora. The inaugural session commenced with Dr. Ajay Kaul, Associate Professor, SoCSE, extending a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, along with faculty members, resource persons, and students. The Vice Chancellor SMVDU expressed his gratitude towards the Higher Education Department Govt of J&K UT for funding of “High End Computing AI and Deep Learning Lab”. Prof. Phalguni Gupta, Vice Chancellor GLA University flagged off the keynote session with an Introduction to Neural Networks focusing on the basics of Convolutional Networks. His expertise was very valuable to all the participants. The conference is dedicated to addressing the latest developments in computing, communications and cyber security on a global scale. By bringing together experts from these areas, the conference seeks to foster discussions on cutting-edge research and innovations. It's been more than two weeks and I am on my blog #04.

Maybe I don't feel to write anything these days. Is it the platform that matters to me while writing?? Idk.

Since I left Tumblr, it's not the same. There used to be a strong feeling to write something there, maybe because people had started reading them... But whatever it was, I think I was liking it

The fonts, format and the whole interface was just amazing.

I think when I will upload the blog here, it will look completely different from what I am looking right now...

But I think I will continue blogger only...

I also have decided to upload some of the Tumblr blogs on blogger, on the educational blog. The blogs about my B.Ed. internship would be there...

I will also share my journey to clear the IIT JAM exam in 2020... Although I didn't took admission in any institute on the basis of it, but it gave me a chance to build a career in online teaching through Unacademy... Will talk about it in detail in that blog....

But ya, I have joined the academy again, it's the first week and my body hurts so bad.... Get ready to study 2-3 hours after waking up. Don't know why I feel so lazy these days... I had analysed that using mobile phone just before sleeping might be a reason and I had decided to not do so again... But it's 12:03 now and I am writing a blog, that too after watching some YouTube videos..

Nothing, but it shows how consistent and how punctual I am... Maybe I need some more introspection...

I had tried to be on a routine and had fixed a routine in my mind as well, but seems Little bit difficult until I work on a few habits of mine...

I just remembered about my decision of "almost" quitting the fast food, soft drinks, bcz these are enough to make someone feel lazy throughout the day...

These things decrease the productivity upto a great level...

So will try to stay away from them as much as possible...

National Workshop on Curriculum Planning and Course Design held at School of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU

Katra: In a bid to provide courses in line with changing industry needs and NEP 2020, a National Workshop on Curriculum Planning and Course Design was hosted by the School of Mechanical Engineering at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University under the chairmanship of Prof. Pragati Kumar (Vice Chancellor, SMVDU). The workshop focused on refining course curricula to reflect industry evolution, integrating innovation and technology in educational frameworks, embracing the principles of NEP 2020 in curriculum development. The workshop featured insights from distinguished academic and industry leaders with varied expertise. With the rapidly evolving landscape of technology and industry demands, the workshop aimed to revamp existing curricula to ensure relevance, agility, and alignment with contemporary industry needs. Experts engaged in robust discussions, sharing insights, best practices, and experiences in curriculum development and pedagogical approaches. The academic experts who deliberated during the workshop include  Prof. Deepak Kumar, Head, Centre for Automotive Research, IIT Delhi, Prof. Niraj Sinha, Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Kanpur, Prof. Harpreet Singh, Mechanical Engineering Department,  IIT Ropar, Prof. Subash Chander, Mechanical Engineering Department, NIT Jalandhar and Dr. Durai Prabhakaran, Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Jammu. The industry experts included Mr. Amrendra Kumar, Country General Manager and Whole Time Director, Winoa Abrasives India Private Limited and Mr. Ashwani Koul, Maruti Suzuki Pvt. Ltd who provided their inputs to revamp the course curriculum in line with the changing needs of the industry and NEP 2020. 

Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU spoke about the NEP2020 implementation at SMVDU and the flexibility being offered to the students. Prof. Balbir Singh, Dean of Academic Affairs, SMVDU spoke about the need for the minor and honors degrees being offered by the School of Mechanical Engineering. Prof. M. Eswaramoorthy, Head SME also spoke at the occasion. During the day long discussions included proposals to offer minor and honors degrees at UG level in areas of 3D printing, Robotics, Automation, and Biomechanical. Also, discussion on the proposal to offer M.Tech in Smart Manufacturing by the School of Mechanical Engineering was also held. Dr. Ankush Raina (Assistant Professor, SME) carried out the proceedings of the event and Prof. Ankush Anand delivered the formal vote of thanks. The workshop was organized jointly by Dr. Ankush Raina (Assistant Professor, SME), Dr. Mir Irfan Ul Haq (Assistant Professor, SME), Prof. Ankush Anand, SME, Dr. Sanjay Mohan (Assistant Professor, SME). Mr. B.K. Bhatia (TPO, SMVDU), Er. Deepak Byotra (Superintendent Workshop) and all faculty members of SoME also attended the day-long workshop.
