There were a string of terror attacks in Turkey in 2016 and 2017, and one of the bombs went off in a square in Ankara I knew my best childhood friend was going to pass thru that same afternoon. This woman, whom I love dearly, also used to be an unmitigated disaster at keeping her phone charged - half of our calls would drop because she ran out of battery.

Which she also did that afternoon and she was totally fine but I could not reach her no matter what I did for an hour or two. And idk man now that there has been another explosion in istanbul I keep thinking back to how fucking scared I was which is making for an interesting Monday.
