A dump of various Nucleotides! Nucleotide's DNA is unstable and prone to mutation-- normally, this doesn't have detrimental effects on his health outside of chronic pain, but if he's forced to regenerate his limbs... well, his body's not always so great at getting things right.
So many of these are WIPs! One day I'll give this guy a fully-rendered physiological meltdown, just like he deserves.

Characters in Be Like a Crow: Ravens of the Tower
Nell - PC. Fledgling magpie who is eager to be invited to become a Tower Magpie.
Mr Archibald – Nell’s mentor, a magpie who lives in the same park as her and her family. He’s one of the few magpies from the park to be a Tower Magpie and is an Ol’ Crow. Rumour has it he had to be convinced to join the Tower.
Edgar – a mouse who helped Nell escape from the boggy sand at the bank of the Thames during her first objective. She has offered a favour in return for her safe rescue, as she could not help him decipher a coded message that had been left nearby that was causing him concern.
Priscilla – An elder Tower Magpie who sent Nell on a mission to save a kidnapped fledgling. Perhaps there is more to her than there seems?

Last line tag game!
Rules: In a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or however many you like).
Tagged by @auniverseforgotten
[feeds my writing into the machine and watches it whir]
“You should feel honored to be in the presence of a god.”
I bite back the urge to laugh through the ache of my body’s unmaking. So, my disrespect has touched a nerve.
“Then what are these Avengers to a god?”
Oh whoops, I finally gave away a hint as to what fandom I'm writing for, but this part grew on me the longer I stared at it and I felt compelled to share.
Tagging: @auniverseforgotten (one way or another we WILL get to the end of our WIPs), @darth-salem-emperor-of-earth , @shadowmellow , @zenzenzence
As always, there’s no pressure to share and if I missed someone who wants to be included feel free to consider yourself also tagged~ <3

Aeri can’t decide what she hates more - the way the bejeweled pin in the victor from District 8’s hair is lopsided, or the girl herself. Oh, what Aeri wouldn’t give to wear such an accessory again, or even wear the finery the victor has been gifted to wear to the viewing. That was her once, wasn’t it?
But now? She’s stuck here, watching this spectacle. The brat, who has no idea what privilege she’s been presented with, keeps on creasing the delicate threads of her gown and her stylists also clearly have no idea on how to do the brat’s makeup. And then there’s that damn pin- Aeri’s pin once upon a time- only in place because it’s tangled in there-
And Aeri can’t hold back. When the brat’s stylists are gone, she reaches into the girl’s hair and extracts the pin. Her fingers, callused from years of hard labor that still feels foreign to Aeri, are quick to untangle most of the obvious knots in the brat’s hair before shetwists the locks into a ponytail and then a bun. The pin goes back in.
Aeri glares at the girl through the mirror. Don’t you dare mess up my work.
( congrats lenlen!! you get....aeri, being really resentful, i hope marìa doesn't mind too much ^^' )
@stillresolved | !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET HER BE RESENTFUL
---
There's a harshness to being dolled up when you are in no way receptive to it.
María isn't foreign to the roughness of life - she's a fucking Victor, after all, isn't she - she's started working in factories just about around the age even the most moral of District 8 people might turn their back in fear on seeing her walk in, pretending not seeing her would free them of the responsibility of working with a child.
Her hands and nose and palate and lungs had long gotten used and keep getting used to the aftermath of working with chemicals, of being so very intimate with garments and colours, with fumes and heat, with the hard work of surviving, with the hard work of fighting to be allowed a minimal chance at said survival, at figuring that there's little more for people from District 8 to fight for.
Still... it's not the same.
Being pushed around, dressed in things she would have never chosen for herself to serve a people, a man, because she's not stupid enough to not be able to tell what is Capitol and what is Snow and how Capitol is Snow, it's a kind of biting and harsh and rough that doesn't leave behind the usual kind of scars and memories and bruises.
Even surviving the Games had come with a desperately accepted sense of relief, one covered in blood and the humiliation of all she'd done and all she'd thought she'd get to accomplish, only for reality to crash in on her in a victory she hadn't wanted to partake in, hadn't wanted to make possible, when she'd wanted her Games to be victor-less in lieu of ending the Games themselves.
This... this is humiliation in the long run. This has hardly any hope attached to it, waiting for her on the other end of the line. Sometimes, on the worst days, it feels like the true brunt of the battle, walking with blood-stained soles and palms and sparkling as she does, wearing all that might make even the softest source of light appear like flames reflecting off her frame, covering her in fire that had not eaten her alive - much to a few people's disdain.
Picking at things, not holding still, grimacing, shifting her muscles, arms, face to make her stylists' life as difficult as possible, it was all she had to fight back.
The Arena came with death and violence, and living back at home had been physical labour upon physical labour, straining her young body until she could no longer tell if she was broken beyond repair or fitter than children her age should be - had they grown up privileged within the Capitol's safety.
Here she has only threads to tear apart and reflections to glare at.
And a new challenge behind every door.
She feels yanked back, an intensity of motion caused less by the avox suddenly in her hair and more her own stiffness that hadn't prepared her for submission to someone suddenly rearranging her.
After her stylists had left, she'd succumbed to the tension of not wanting to be there, without the added hard work of making sure everybody else does. Lost in her thought, somebody's hands suddenly returning on her had fortified, molten it into a newly forged blade, stiff and ready to strike, tensing everything within her and making a few fingers in her hair turn into a grappling hook tied to a moving mountain.
María is startled enough she can't remember how to glare.
A frown does accompany her widened eyes anyway, making her look... appalled, almost, an addition to her expression so unsuited to typically frightened features, youth tainted by the face of someone used to having to fight to stay alive.
It almost happens in a flash then. The reflection moves and adjusts and fixes and what had started as something that had María's lips split into something acid and trembling, turns into something unpleasant and acrid, but silent, as María sits and lets herself be mandhandled one more time.
That's when she glares. After the avox finishes up, after their eyes meet in the mirror and María sees none of the downturned gazes they're trying to make her accustomed to.
Seeing avoxes pisses her off.
Why take it out on them.
She understands what they are, what they're supposed to represent.
To her, an avox is a statement. No longer a person but rather someone rid of their innate right to be considered one. Even with the determination and life in this avox' eyes, María has come to understand them as tools Snow uses to assert his dominance, people from all circles of life, punished with the robbing of their words... and their detached tongue metaphorically forced to lick away at the tip of the shoes of people like María.
All a scheme.
Infighting.
Use the prey on the prey, make them take each other out.
It'd be easier to feel pity if María could sleep, if the avox hadn't adjusted her appearance, and if the avox wasn't staring her down as if she had any right to do so.
She's oddly beautiful.
She's oddly familiar.
"Why are you helping them?" she hisses, low, whispered, because she might never admit it, but she's... she's a little scared, isn't she? Lately? Devora's face swims before her inner eye, so stern, so wrong.
"I'm on your side more than they are," she adds, pulling a strand of her hair out of the freshly adjusted bun.

no offense but i think bylers should stop using the word 'parallels' when theyre talking about dawsons creek bc they literally do not know what theyre talking about lmao i am sorry but it becomes apparent that they dont watch the show and somehow saw some random ''parallels'' and tried to acquire it to stranger things in a very (sloppy) way.
you can really tell when someone hasn't watched the show like that time a girl on twitter made a thread about dawson's creek and called dawson and joey the main couple of the show and every early 2000s tv fan qrted her tweet lmao
i think in general inspiration ≠ 1:1 parallel and something having a parallel to st doesn't necessarily mean it was an inspiration it can just mean it's a common storyline that's in a lot of movies and tv shows😭 but i don't know if i've really seen people force parallels with dawson's creek

oh my god do not click links in emails that tell you to verify your data or your bank account gets locked or click links in messages telling you your safety protocol is ending, like, tomorrow, you will get SCAMMED SO BAD AND YOU WILL LOSE A LOT OF FUCKING MONEY never ever let anyone pressure you into giving away login information especially to your online banking by creating a sense of urgency oh my GOD
some things to look out for
1. spelling mistakes. do you know how many rounds of marketing and sales experts these things go through? if theres a spelling mistake dont click it
2. not using your name. if an email adresses you with "dear customer" or, even worse, a generic "ladies and gentlemen", it is most likely not actually targeted to you
3. verifying or login links. even IF your bank was stupid enough to send these to customers, dont EVER click those. look at me. they can legally argue that youve given your data away and thus they dont have to pay you anything back DONT CLICK THAT FUCKING LINK
4. creating a sense of urgency. do this or we lock your account next week. do this or your ebanking stops working tomorrow. give us all your money in cash or your beloved granddaughter will get HANGED FOR MURDERING BABIES. no serious organisation would ever do something like that over email or sms. ever. hands off.
5. ALWAYS CHECK WHO SENT YOU THE EMAIL. the display name and the email adress can vary a LOT. anyone can check the display name. look at the email adress. does it look weird? call the fucking place it says its from. you will likely hear a very weary sigh.
6. if its in a phonecall, scammers love preventing you from hanging up or talking to other people to have a little bit of a think about whats happening. there should always be a possibility to go hey i wanna think about this ill call back the official number thanks.
7. do not, i repeat, do NOT a) call a phone number flashing on your screen promising to rid your computer of viruses after clicking a dodgy link and b) let them install shit on your computer like. uh. idk. teamviewer.
7.i. TEAM VIEWER LETS PEOPLE USE YOUR COMPUTER HOWEVER THEY WANT AS LONG AS THEYRE CONNECTED. IF YOU DONT KNOW FOR FUCKING SURE YOURE TALKING TO ACTUAL TECH SUPPORT DONT GIVE ANYONE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER.
fun little addendum: did you know a link can just automatically download shit? like. a virus? an app you can't uninstall unless you reset your entire device? dont click links unless youre extremely sure you know where they lead. hover your mouse over it and check the url.
thanks.

I'm still mad about the friend of mine who got harassed off of here. Any time I see their old url, it feels really nice to see it again, but then I remember why they're not using it anymore
Didn't do a damn thing wrong, just annoyed some people enough they started a harassment campaign. They literally said as much, I'm not just making that up. Every last thing they supposedly did wrong either wasn't wrong period, was twisting their words hardcore, or was a situation where they didn't realize the context of a phrase they were using a tiny bit of gentle correction was enough to make them go "oh shit, I didn't realize that" and change (but still get harassed even though they literally had already changed)
Accused of all kind of horrible shit over fucking nothing, people just like having an acceptable target and are a bit over eager to buy into slander that if you actually know the person is demonstrably false
I still talk to them of course, but the past pisses me off

filterable picrew database!
original post updated march 7 2024
hey pals!! i'm working on a filterable, tagged collection of picrew i like. right now there's over 100 picrew (and other such makers such as those from neka or meiker) in there with tags for things like fashion, hair options, skin colors, specific features like horns or headscarves, and body types. you can search for multiple tags at a time and filter out tags you don't want. the whole thing is organized in a big grid of sample results from the picrew in question, so you can see the style at a glance and click it for more images and the url, but you can change the view and organization system however you like.
the link is here!!! feel free to share this wherever. i'm still going through my folders and adding more makers, so expect lots of updates real soon.
i'm hoping this makes it easier for people to find picrew that suit them and their characters, especially in cases where it's unfortunately harder to find certain features like dark skin options and fat bodies.
really important notes:
i do not take requests for additional tags. sorry!! please understand that every time i want to use a new tag, i have to manually go into every maker in the entire backlog and check to see if they have it. it's a pain! it takes a while! there's only one of me! the only circumstance under which i'm willing to add a new tag is if you're willing to go through the backlog and link me every picrew that needs the tag, and i can use it going forward.
if something is tagged wrong, i need to know which maker it is so i can fix it. you need to tell me! the most useful way to send me a specific picrew is a direct link, or the artist name (which will be the title when you click into the item in the database). sometimes i get vague comments like "there are makers in x tag that don't fit" and no one EVER follows up with which ones they are so i can't FIX IT.
one big thing that you can do to help me with this database is take one of the links on my tba page and tell me what tags apply to it. literally just one! enough folks see and use this resource that just a few people taking one takes a load off my plate.
💖🍵 if this resource has been useful for you, consider sending me a tip on ko-fi!!
have fun!!!! i hope this is helpful for people!!!

hey sorry not sure if my ask sent there was weirdness with the captcha but im the arcana anon n im sorry for not doing my research i didnt look in2 the links. the important thing is that the devs r scammers. again I apologize and hope it wasnt too troublesome
hey, thanks for reaching back out! I'm sorry I got so heated in my replies. I know you were trying to be helpful and informative and I think that's a nice thing to do.
For what it's worth, I did find more substantial info about their suspicious finances. So your ask did help me!
The big thing to take away here is that you led with irrelevant info. Your original ask goes something like "the devs are problematic and here's why: they like incest. also they scammed people."
And, again, I appreciate you looking out for people. I'm bummed that I ever paid into that game, and equally disappointed to hear about what else they've done/not done with their money. It's good that people know there's some shady shit going on.
(As a quick aside that's not really relevant to fit anywhere else, I don't think people are being fair to the devs about microtransactions. We all hate microtransactions, we all hate the way mobile games are designed to be as addicting as possible so we can throw our money at them, but I also just don't think it's fair of the OP I linked above to give them shit for... doing what the whole market is designed for? The problem of addictive mobile games is much bigger than the devs of The Arcana).
In the links above there's also more insight into the "racism" claims and the fetishization. For the record, none of the devs have thrown around slurs or (to my knowledge) fired team members of color who might have contributed to the game, but I do agree now that I'm reading these that, yes, there's some exoticism/sexualization of the characters of color that isn't (wasn't? I haven't played the game since before Portia's route was added, I have no idea what it's like now). It's not something I originally noticed the first time I played, but looking back I totally get it.
Just don't lead with "they're bad because they ship incest" next time. That's completely irrelevant to the conversation and gives us no info about their actual moral compass. People like weird stuff sometimes, and that's not a reason to vilify them.
I hope none of this sounds mean--I fully admit I'm prickly at best about "problematic ship" callouts--but I also hope you know you were still right about the other stuff (the racism, scamming people)! So again I appreciate you messaging me in the first place and I appreciate you reaching back out to apologize. I hope next time I can approach these things with less bitterness.
