As an aroallo who’s been involved in the ace/aro discourse from a few years ago, I’ve read the manifesto and found the blog behind it, and… yeah that’s not a psy-op, that’s just aros replicating political lesbianism on accident because they’re frustrated with amatonormativity and conflating it with romantic attraction in general, but I also feel kinda… weird about seeing it sent anonymously to someone who isn’t aro and idk if you’ve ever openly said if/that you’re aro or not. Even though the original creators of the manifesto were being completely genuine about it, that wouldn’t stop someone who thinks aromantics are homophobic freaks who need to be pushed out of the queer community from using it to create rifts by sending it to alloromantic queer folks to subtly say “look, this is what those heartless monsters think of you!” And since they’re anonymous, I have absolutely zero idea what their intentions are and cannot examine them more closely. It seems so far the reactions have been to criticize it while maintaining the stance that aros as a whole are fine, which is great, but I still can’t shake my suspicions of the original anon. I dunno. Maybe I’m still too burned by the discourse.

(This is not me saying you’ve done anything wrong, I get that you get a lot of unhinged anons and cannot control what people send you. This is me side-eyeing the anon who sent that to you really hard).

in case that kind of helps to contextualize it, it wasn't like. someone just dropping a link and leaving, it was someone asking what i thought. i just couldn't read the pdf that the blog had linked bc it was formatted in a way that was hard on my eyes. but also i get a ton of ppl "asking what i think" and then it's just bait so it is so fucking hard to tell which questions are ppl who are genuinely curious and who is just trying to set me up :)))))))

but yeah, i think it's a pretty common anxiety for all types of queer people to worry that any time one of us does something stupid that we're all going to get punished. i'm monitoring my notes in case anyone uses this as an opportunity to be a dipshit abt it.

(A Wenclair fic) which I am slightly salty about bc like all of my popular things I wrote it at midnight slightly unhinged. uh.. wasn't that circe post, like.. the "too realistic" thing was referring to how men doing things to women who can't consent is an actual thing that happens irl a lot? and that's why they were talking about it the way they were? I don't think it was the mind control specifically. (I'm on mobile & I can't recall exactly how the post went bc my memory's really bad so sorry if I'm getting anything off) Maybe I'm out of line for this but you going out of your way to be mean to someone talking abt something they think is serious that you think is nbd just bc it's a game is really disappointing to see.. like, u coulda just ignored it or smthn? why go outta ur way to be rude to someone? idgi..

(not trying to start an argument or anything btw, I won't message again, I just.. idk, feel like someone here's missing smthn. Maybe it's me. Is the psp game just off the walls lighthearted? i've only played TS3 😔)

The PSP game involves a Werepug. It involves a robot woman who explodes and then you have to collect her body parts so that a scientist can put her back together. There’s a game that’s whack-a-mole with zombies. The main antagonist’s name is a pun and his plan involved creating a “cow based cult” to summon a cow demon named “Beezlebeef”.

So to answer your question I’m being rude because if I’m not I’ll have to go through another round of listening to adults explain why you’re a bad person if you like a character from a videogame made in 2005 because they “seem like an abuser”. ... In a sims game, where characters talk in gibberish.

If I have to go through another “Is Buzz Grunt an abusive husband?” discourse where people project their personal issues onto and then try to cancel pixels on a screen like they’re a real person. If I have to have one more discussion with someone who talks about social issues with absolute authority but only how they apply to fictional characters and saying idiotic cutesy shit like “You absolute walnut” I am going to become goddamned unhinged.

But other than that I’m doing great <3 Sims 3 is so much fun! What’s your favorite expansion pack? Mine’s Supernatural because I think werewolves are neat :)
