How do you think Mana/the Earl would react to learning Lavi want to be his cute-little-son-Allen's boyfriend ? Would he just find it cute and encourage it or would he smile threateningly and casually scare the living daylights of Lavi just in case ?

okay ngl i’m getting so many meta-ish possible-theories of what would happen that I completely forgot for two seconds that AUs/HCs exist and I had a major whiplash doing “wait i missed a chapter that would change my whole life” for a solid second oh my god thank you nonny

and in general i guess, Lavi would probably be shady enough for Mana to be protective, just to different scales depending on how and why. I’ll get in depth about that. Lavi can somewhat make people uncomfortable, don’t know if you can trust him with your son’s heart, so y’know, stuff to be warry about. And I think Mana/Earl would consider it.

NOW onto the details of HOW

aNYWAY so. so. So that’s a problem of the Earl/Mana. Let’s picture three scenarios possible depending on which Earl we’re talking about.

So first, Mana Walker. Allen’s adoptive father. Would he still remain the same as we know him (say, meeting Lavi as a kid AU, or perhaps as an internal voice in Allen’s head, or just in more casual AUs where he’s alive) I can totally see him as an overprotective father who still would respect his son’s choices. Not too trusting of Lavi in general, probably nudging the conversation to Allen about being careful but Allen being stubborn, but, y’know, not getting his nose where it doesn’t belong. Letting Allen deal with it. (and if casual AUs let’s say Allen had enough help from Uncle Cross to at least be sure that Allen can handle himself on Allen’s own term if things go sour, so Dad’s gonna be the emotional support but will let the son handle himself otherwise.). Meanwhile Mana would probably try to befriend Lavi and be cheerful with him! If he’s gonna be your son-in-law, he’ll treat him like a son! even if he’s shady! Gotta make him feel welcomed in the family! And meanwhile always being a support for Allen to open his heart to.So I say, supportive mindful Dad who don’t get too much in the way.

Then The Earl as he currently is. With a very torn opinion on Allen considering he wants to adopt Allen for Nea (forcefully adopting your ex-adoptive son in order to adopt your brother who’s also You is one of the most hilarious thing about this manga), but eehhh let’s picture a scenario in which the Earl doesn’t actively force Nea out for whatever reasons but still keep Allen around as a son (to Allen’s greatest dismay).

Without entering into “Allen knowing the Earl is his father”, i think the Earl would be muuuch more reculent to Lavi being around because this would be someone who could take his son away and that’s not something he’s very found of. If we get the Earl to treat Allen like he treats the rest of the Noah, i’m pretty sure he would let it be, like casually bring up “you know your boyfriend is a dirty liar right? ❤” “Still lies better than Tyki at Poker.” “Was. Not involved in the conversation, thanks Shounen.”

Still thinking that the worst part would be the outsider factor, making sure Allen doesn’t slip away again. Perhaps would oppose to the relationship for a time unless he believes that at least it could stop Allen from running away from the family.

Would see him get dirty with Lavi though. Like casually threatening him, y’know, not to challenge the family’s equilibrium, totally not because he ended up caring for the vessell of his brother, that would be utterly ridiculous. “Erg, Allen, I think… I think your “father” wants to make me a cake.” “Well, that’s great isn’t it? You’d share a piece right?” “No- I mean, He wants to make me a cake. As in, into a cake.” “Ah. I’d still get a piece though rig- Alright alright don’t look at me like that I’ll tell him to stop don’t panic i’m joking.”

A version of The Current Earl who Would Remember Being Mana Walker (so say, a future version where the memories came back and all), would be a Earl that cares 100% for Allen. And I should have thought my process through bc he’ll just be Earl!Dad but in worse. Like in even more openly caring for Allen. And he wouldn’t have had to lowkey be blackmailing Allen to have him stay around.

Let’s go wild, after all, Allen finding back his father figure might at least justify y’know, spending in the family dinner and trying to convince your dad not to destroy the world around a turkey and obviously bringing his boyfriend to the parties because sometimes that’s what avoid some fights between the family, just like you can avoid your controversial uncle from voicing an opinion at dinner by bringing your controversial boyfriend along who is not recording all of that for his clan. (Nothing avoids controversial topic like having a living recorder to rat it out)

(okay no trying to picture that I just had the picture of saying, Allen leaving Lavi at the table for a minute bc he’s chasing after Road or the twins or something, so Lavi is alone at the table with his now in-laws family and he’s. Just. Nervously smiling, stiff. And going. “…. so. Humanity. Sucks right?” to try to make small talks waiting for his boyfriend to come back and i can’t stop thinking about it)

Anyway there I think the Earl would try less to push Lavi away because just like Mana, his son’s happiness goes before anything! But the sadistic part of him that makes him a Noah, and who mistrust a bit Lavi with the heart of his poor, sweet son, would pull Earl!Dad stuff to lowkey threaten him, usually trying not to get caught doing so by Allen.

I could also see him get faaar more involved in Allen’s life in general (”why don’t you stay in the ark for the holidays with your boyfriend, com’on it would be great❤” “You mean in the room I somewhat got reassigned that is near the Jasdebi’s which is completely incidental to the fact they would be able to make death-pranks on my boyfriend just because they were bored?” “…… ❤💧 I can find you another room.” “Yeah.”).

He would be nudging Allen far more about how inadequate Lavi might be (”You know he said a horrible lie earlier?❤“ “Well you murdered people earlier today I believe you cannot judge.” “Touché.”) But yeah, that would fall flat.

So he would also be trying to emotional support Human!Mana would have done and understand… some of Allen’s bounderies, like if Allen told him to not do something he won’t do it. But it’s funny to freak Lavi out and he will use his Earl’s sadism for that. Just perhaps with less intend to actually hurt than he would have would he just want to make sure Allen gets involved in the family.

But all and all I could see him also do an effort to be on good term with Lavi and listening to Allen’s concerns and feelings, just like Human!Mana would have done.

So basically the further we go down the scale the more we go from “kind and understanding father” to “Oh Allen does his things and he does it well and I will not oppose to it and i will be friendly to his boyfriend but i will freak the hell out of him”, with more or less intensities with how much of a Noah he is and how much he cares about Allen as an individual.

…….. That was ways funnier to imagine than i anticipated :’D hope you like it nonny ;O

1-Imagine Lavi before meeting Allen (or any of his previous names) being accidentally sent out to the future and notice Current!Lavi has feelings for Allen), and assuming C!Lavi doesn't dodge the subject/deny it when asked why(which is likely) /give a false reason, he'd say something along the lines of how Allen is a light and such a compassionate and kind person and Lavi didn't even know it existed. While Past Lavi watch Allen being Allen (pissing of mafia, stripping innocent people to their

part 2 final-underwear, stripping for money, having false tears to get himself out of a situation and seducing robots and just being his usual evil self and pissing off the mafia ) then Past Lavi get back to staring disbelievingly at C!Lavi and say "I.. see" and wonder what is wrong with C!Lavi's brain and deduce that even Lavi can get affected by the "Love make people blind/dumb/stupid" thing, he vow to never become like that and get wary of Allen instead of looking down on him (he fall anyway)

oh my g o d omg!! I love it so much this is amazing.

Like... Just to imagine Past!Lavi knowing nothing about the great things Allen had done to impress his future self, seeing all of the Allen Hall Of Fame, as i’d like to say, not knowing all of the Allen’s goodies... it is fantastic. Just to imagine how jaded and at the same time terrified of “himself” Past!Lavi would get just seeing this Allen.

And that last line ur entierely right, 10/10 exactly what would happen

Laven soulmate AU where Lavi has met Tyki and Road (or any other Noah tbh) before meeting Allen and got creeped out/scared ('cause that's the healthy way to react) and is thinking "Why would my soulmate be one of their siblings what kind of psycho is he" (even better if Tykki off-handedly mention Allen being scary while talking to Road ) and not wanting to meet Allen because he want to live before actually meeting Allen and having his "omg you are LIGHT" reaction.

there is a fanart I absolutely love of Allen sleeping on top (both fully clothed) of Lavi and I've searched for it for a while but I can't remember where I've seen it so I wanted to ask if you saw it/something similar

Aaaah no i admit i hadn’t seen it D: It doesn’t ring a bell at all ;;-;; if you find it though send it my way i would love to see it!

perhaps try to see with tumblr user kitty-bandit/letspleasuretogether? (same user, just i think kitty is her personal blog and the other her dgm blog). She generally seem to have most of the ressources for Laven stuff (hell she even co-host a special laven blog, lavenlovers). Else perhaps try to hit up errantknightess? She’s the other co-host of lavenlovers and she also have a lot of laven references all around.

Wait, what about Laven Marriage (be it in canon or in an AU) ? I mean, the Noah would sooner gleefully murder Lavi and tear off his limbs than let their favorite sibling go. And the Earl/Mana smile threateningly in Lavi's direction (Allen has a biais and think it's a gentle smile because 'It's Mana!') and says that "the house is big enough for you to come Lavi". Lavi is scared for his life, Bookman sr disagree & say "What of course my past apprenti- I mean my Apprentice's husband live with us !"

..... ARE YOU SAYING NOAH’S CRASHING THE WEDDING

Okay so i could see different things there:

-Tyki and Road WOULD be throwing Lavi a bachelor’s party. Lavi is concerned about why he’s the one having to deal with Allen’s side of the family, until he realizes that it was a trap and that they spent the entiere evening setting up a long, long list of threats. As in “and if you break his heart I will tear away yours :D” or “we’re keeping an eye on you- and will plunk yours if you misstep.”.

-Wisely is at the party just to watch Lavi get more and more uncomfortable. He peaks into Lavi’s brain and try to make it even more uncomfortable for him.

-Sheryl refuse to let any member of his family, even some... as untasteful as Allen cast a bad light on the family. So he throws the most expensive wedding he can, helped by the Earl who wants the best for his son anyway. Everything was polished for the best.

-Originally the Exorcists were being refused into the guest list until Allen started to threaten to run away if his friends couldn’t assist the wedding. It was set up with a truce to make sure no murder attempt would go down that day. Allen had confirmed to all his family member that if anything goes down he will take the cake and leave with the exorcists goddamnit.

-Lenalee specifically serves as Lavi’s bodyguard. She tried to drag Kanda into doing so too but he’s more recluent. But she is worried alright.

-The Earl keeps inviting Lavi into long walk into the garden to discuss the meaning of life. Everytime it derails in how important his precious son is for him and that you know, him and death are good friends and if he had reasons to kill Lavi he would.

-On the wedding day, the Earl insist on walking Allen to the aisle. This is where the frightening threatening smile happens. Lavi is just shivering but Allen is just happy, his father is walking him down the aisle it’s amazing!

-Cross ended up crashing the party after people neglected inviting him. In the afterparty he stole all the booze and made the most embarassing speach about Allen into the dinner. The Earl took it as a Dad-Off session and stood up, threatening toward Cross, about his own most embarassing Allen’s story. Allen is defeated.

-In attempt to balance it out, Allen asks Bookman if he has a word about Lavi (”just please get their attention away from me”). And while it does start up as so, Bookman also ends up having anecdote on Allen (never revealing about Past!A ofc, it’s just that Bookman is “observant”. “Also i’ve seen the two of you flirt since day one don’t you think i didn’t see it-”) and Allen just have to groan again. The wedding was a mistake.

-Anyway at some point Nea wants to make a toast too and the whole family is ready to jump in and Lavi himself has to call back Allen because com’on man, and Allen just ends up groaning more and more.

-the Jasdebi twins crashed into the wedding cake at some point and it was the most tragic event of the evening. Lavi forgot all his fears of Allen’s side of the family the moment he saw Allen start to chase down the twins for ruining a perfectly good cake.

-After the wedding there is the big discussion about where they should live. Obviously the Earl insist on keeping Allen close and Allen is indeed tempted, but Sheryl is absolutly not. So he tries to make things as unwelcomed as possible... toward Lavi, knowing that the Earl would otherwise raise an eyebrow at him if he went after the golden child. So Lavi gets frightened by Sheryl and try to convince Allen to go live somewhere else.

-Bookman definitly tries to argue having Allen living with them, after all, it’s just like that between Bookmen like the old tim- he realizes he can’t say that but he welcomes them anywhere. Obviously the Earl is not pleased.

-But at least now Lavi and Allen are happy together despite this disaster and they think foundly upon the wedding. Except for the threats part.

That’s all i can come up with but that’s already too funny for me thank u ;O

What are the things you like best about Allen and Lavi's relationship in canon?

Oooh boy, where to start.

I’m not going to lie, I think part of what made me love their relationship so much is the amount of character development that got out of Lavi having to come to term with how much he cares for Allen. There was a massive journey in which Lavi went from not caring about humanity and thinking Allen was lucky and naive, to suddenly becoming hyperaware of Allen’s situation and become protective and sad at this situation being what it is.

Sadly I can’t deny a lot of it is Lavi-centered. But i like the hints we get of Lavi catching on Allen’s fake smiles for exemple, or how he remains very close to Allen once he feared to lose him. Hell the fact Sir Emotionless completely lost it both on the thought of losing Allen, and then upon meeting the person who hurt Allen is a way to imediatly get my feelings.

And any ship with a “dazzling light” comparaison get at least my attention.

Most of the huge emotionally charged scenes for those two are mostly centered on Lavi feelings, and I’m aware that it feels like i’m ignoring Allen,which is not my intention. I just feel like Lavi’s writting is Text while Allen’s is..... mostly my overinterpretation.

Allen is the kind to throw his own life to save the people he loves, all he has done for Lavi are stuff he could have done for anyone else. But perhaps because of the dynamic set by Lavi, I end up finding those scenes very touching. From the longing moment after their fight or honestly, the whole fight against Lavi and how desperately Allen tried to reach him, or how after the burning, Allen is legit furious that Lavi would do something this stupid to hurt himself.

(and I’m also a sucker for “possessed/out of his mind character get a moment of lucidity due to a loved one hugging them and calling their name” and yeah Allen Did That so it adds up.)

I also can’t get out of my mind the look on Allen’s face when he fails to save Lavi from his fall when the Ark’s collapse. Sometimes some details end up haunting me and this one did.

On a more “the same level” thing i really like how they tease each other. Allen is quite responsive to Lavi’s brand of teasing and it always makes me laugh. Like when Lavi teases Allen about the fact Road loves him and Allen immediatly starts to grab Lavi’s face because he has No Time For This and they end up bothering each other like that as if Lavi didn’t just set himself on fire and if the Ark wasn’t just about to collapse.

So little things like that adds up, how casual hey are along each other, like how before the Attack on the Order arc Lavi was often very close to Allen and reluctent in Link’s presence, and how Allen always had a jab to tease Lavi when he was being a child.

idk if it counts as canon but the fact they can be very childish around each other gets played a lot in the Komui Corner and the Guidebooks or Bonus too, and I cannot deny that it adds up. This dynamic is present in the manga but it seems mostly like Lavi teasing Allen and Allen giving a measured response, which is already funny in such, and some elements where Allen can become a brat as well, but the extended canon material really add more to that dynamic of Allen getting wrapped up in some of Lavi’s antics. I can’t get over the latest Komui Corner in which Wisely teases Allen because he missed teasing Lavi. But idk how much you’re willing to extend your definition of “canon” so perhaps this doesn’t count ahha, but to me it adds up.

I don’t know in a way I love how simple it is. It’s built on friendship and on a lot of teasing, but there was the despair of the fight and the extends of Lavi’s character development due to this relationship that seriously got me.

One also non-neglectable thing that is extremely personal is that..... I love themes. And I especially love Thematic Parallelisms. DGM is filled with that, within all the dynamic of the main four and others people out there (say Link and Lavi parallel each other well for exemple).

But what I specifically love is that Lavi and Allen’s parallel thematic is one focused on Identity: The fact both of them identify seriously with a name they didn’t always have, that they willingly set themselves on a path that is becoming harder for them to invest themselves into, this sort of things. That they’re both the kind to wear a mask, a fake smile, a fake identity (if Lavi pulls on the “Lavi” face, Allen pulls on “Mana’s mask”. And it becomes harder in harder knowing where the mask starts and where it ends).

What was the final nail in the coffin to me was this specific analysis wit the Ace of Spade. And I know, perhaps putting all your love in a dynamic to an analysis of a detail like that is perhaps not the best thing to propose people. But somehow reading this analysis made me unable to turn back on them. It just clicked and since then I cannot... not see it in canon. Like I mean - I know you asked for canon specifically, and it’s weird that I link an overanalysis, but this analysis shape my way to see those specific scenes in canon. So everytime that goddamn Ace shows up I end up crying.

I guess it probably doesn’t feel like much, and it’s... very summed up because if i go through every single scenes that left an impact on me, we would be here for hours and you can be certain i’ll end up crying on some panels that are mostly not significant the slightest.

But I think that’s the stuff that really got to me and makes me unable to stop thinking about it when I read the manga. I guess those are just the particular tropes and stuff that I really like in general :’D

That fake love dog anecdote would be such a Lavi x Allen thing to happen omg

..................... THIS IS ABSOLUTLY CORRECT OH MY GOD.

For context to anyone seeing this anon, I was talking about how my dog started to bark to be put on my knees for a hug, but right as i did so, she ran to my meal and put her nose into it.

So as anon rightfully points out, this would completely happen with Lavi and Allen.

The thing is that I can see both of them try to pull it off? Like Lavi steals from Allen’s meal canonically (and gets to pay for it) so what would stop him to try to see if he can steal food without Allen to notice thanks to a hug right?

Meanwhile, after all of this, Allen would just start to do it too. After all, when food is involved, there is no more playing fair. And I can totally see how distraught Lavi could be of having Allen sit on his knees, how swee- “wait you’re stEALING MY FOOD” “technically since i’m in front of the meal it can count as mine as well”

So yeah. Completely Lavi x Allen, you’re entierely right nonny, thank you for pointing it out :’D

I think the best way to get into this ship is to focus on them, especially when Lavi is in the back. Because… damn shit gets intense. Honestly i didn’t even expect to ship them, it started as a joke, and then suddenly it hits me and i was "…..oh” ever since. (which is basically what happened to Lavi im just sayin’)

I think something I feel really strongly about this ship is that, Lavi started the manga thinking he didn’t care for people all that much. We know, thanks to the novel, that he was indeed getting closer to people in the Organization, but he still was keeping distant.

When he meets with Allen, he imediatly starts to tease him. Something Lavi does with everyone, but what I love is how Allen does end up loosing it up around Lavi. He’s either extra polite with people (see with Lenalee) or he blows off completely (like with Kanda) but then with Lavi it seems a right ballance of him being still kind, but also still ending up wrapping into Lavi’s stupid stuff. They tease each other (the vampire arc) and Allen will be playful with Lavi, which imo shows he’s already more comfortable in general, since Allen usually keeps up the Polite Face he learnt from Mana.

Lavi on his end, well, he does evolve a lot around Allen. He starts the story rather cynical, but he grows so close of Allen that the loss of Allen hurts him far more than he expected. So much that he holds on the Ace of Spades.

you… probably heard me fangirl about this beauty, but you should definitly read this post to get exactly what I mean. I think appreciating what the Ace of Spades represented was what made me so emotional about them to start with.

The framing when Allen dies is so big. Anita talks about how she believes Cross is alive because it’s the only thing that gives her strength, and this sentence? Is said while we see Lavi contemplating the Ace of Spades, the card that he links to Allen, and that it’s when he thinks to himself “that’s right, Bookman has no need for a heart” because that’s the moment he realizes his grief is taking over the emotionless person he’s supposed to be.

Which goes on and on (and is even worse if you believe in Lavi = Heart theory, since long story short, the Lavi = Heart theory lays on the fact that we know the Heart of Innocence is hiding in the Order, it has been retrieved, and we know that it’s “creating dummies” - creating/modifying powerful innocences to hide among them without being noticed. And this point, the two innocences that changed were Allen and Lenalee’s after both of their situations have Lavi completley lose it to his emotions).

Some of the further serious moments, Lavi knows Allen is alive, he knows he needs to controle his emotions, yet he immediatly jumps on Tyki when he meets him, furious, because it’s the one who hurt Allen. Lavi “I have No Heart” Bookman is a bad liar.

Once Allen comes back, Lavi takes a backstep, but you’d notice though that… Lavi is always kinda close? He’s always in the back.

Until of course, this wonderful scene:

^This is especially an interesting scene because Lavi had been keeping an eye on Allen ever since they met. After Lavi got to see the Akuma’s souls for himself, he was kinda disturbed by the fact that Allen could carry on smiling happily to not worry anyone while he was seeing those horrors all the time. I think from that point, Lavi started to see through Allen’s masks - that Allen’s smile was as fake as his, even if it had another reason for it. So Lavi gets to see through those smiles and acknowledge that Allen may be hiding greater pain than he may look like. (better post about it there)

The whole Dream with Road is extremely interesting too, but it’s explored in the Ace of Spades post i linked: Road kept trying to find ways to break Lavi. She wasn’t just awakening Lavi’s worst fears, she was reading his heart to know where she had to hurt. So she tried - she played around. She first had Lenalee blame him for not caring for them, she has everyone turning on Lavi, she forces Lavi to acknowledge he’s failing those people. But it doesn’t break him. What does though? Is when she makes Allen appears to him, gentle, softening that Lavi held on to the card for him without Bookman’s knowledge - when she shows him Allen being glad of Lavi showing his friendship - only to have his “Bookman self” kill Allen because “he’s just ink on paper”

And that’s when Lavi lowers his guard, that’s when he falls down, that’s where the Ace of Spades becomes a blank page that run out of ink. That’s when Lavi’s spirit got broken: by having Allen being soft to him and being glad to be his friend, before being destroyed in front of him.

And while it was Lavi’s weakness, it was also his strength - as Allen called for Lavi. When you see how the later chapters say that the call of your name by a loved one (even if the loved one is platonic, as long as the feeling is sincere), can bring back a wandering soul back to his body. And Allen? Goes on the whole fight calling Lavi over and over, and hugging him because “Lavi, can’t you heart my voice?”.

And eventually, it gets through, eventually, Lavi manages to deal with what’s happening in his brain, and Lavi takes back control of his own body.

He has no memories of fighting Allen, and despite being in pain, he immediatly starts joking off with Allen again while Allen is basically being annoyed that Lavi put himself in danger this way.

And then Joyd comes, and suddenly Allen isn’t in good shape anymore, and Lavi, with the very few strength remaining to him, that tries to protect him and i’m emotional.

And then, when they go back home - things go back to normal. Actually, Lavi tries to find opportunities to be with Allen. He wants to ask Allen to sneak out the Infirmry with him to get food (it doesn’t happen because Allen is already gone, but Lavi “I have no Heart” Bookman was seeking for such a simple fun moment with Allen) - or later, when Link starts to investigate on Allen, Lavi tries so hard to stick around. Like there’s at one point, Link trying to get Allen to answer questions and asks for Allen to join him in the library for it, and Lavi, who was chilling with Allen before it happens, immediatly goes “i’ll go check some book what a coincidences ~” and is just shut down by Link, and he stops following. In a way, Lavi just wanted to stick around. Hell you even see him brushing his teeth with Allen (and Link and Bookman who happen to be there too, but Lavi and Allen are the ones to talk and jokes together), and i’m personally a sucker for those little domestic moments.

It’s after Lenalee’s innocence change to a crystalization that Bookman becomes more severe and tells Lavi to focus on his duty as bookman, to not get closer to the innocence. And after that, Lavi starts to shut down. He gets distants.

Plus, a bit after that, there’s the Cross & Allen conversation about Mana - in which Lavi was forced to assist as a Bookman. He was clearly recording the scene, and he wasn’t pleased. He probably saw Allen at the lowest Allen has ever been, doubting even if he was ever loved by Mana - at a point in the story where Lavi was already knowing he was supposed to keep his distances.

And well of course right now we know it’s gonna abe suffering considering their situations but….

What I’m trying to say still is that, Lavi and Allen are close. And they get friendly around each other, a lot even despite those walls they built around themselves because of the choices they made. And by wording it this way, I want to point out how it plays on what I called Thematic Parallelisms.

Lavi and Allen’s storyline are heavily linked to their Identity. They are two people who picked a road, and decided to stick to it (becoming a bookman/being an exorcist) but on this road, they ended up having to make decisions between two conflicting part of their identity (Bookman&Exorcist/Exorcist&Noah). Suddenly they’re being asked to pick a side, to pick who they really are.

Not to mention, they are both characters with names that aren’t really theirs. We know Lavi changes name all the time, and we know Allen’s name was only picked up after the death of the dog Allen, since his name was originally Red. - meanwhile he named himself Walker after Mana’s death, he wasn’t named this way.)

They have such a duality, about who they are and what people expect them to be, and what they want to be, and what people force them to go through. They are both suffering directly from their bonds with the Noah (hell, considering Lavi is suffering especially because of the Bookman’s bonds to the 14th, it’s even bigger).

In the end, though it’s just - they are friendly and they tease each other so much they let each other’s masks fall down sometimes.

I love the fact they can have… just be dorks y’know. Like that time in the guidebook Allen chased down Lavi with Wasabi to have him eat it after Lavi took him a piece of food. Like they are just?? dorks??

Now don’t get me wrong, I totally get them as platonic, and they will always have an amazing dynamic no matter what, but i’m truly a sucker for Friends who just enjoy to have fun together, who tease each other, and especially, Thematic parallelism. Add a sprinkle of Angst with grieffing and fearing losing the other, and you got me convinced.

I don’t think i can explain it more for now since my mind is a bit blurry but o(-( ye. I. Really love their dynamics. And that cover i pointed out? It’s just one of those fun little moments between them i just love. I want more of that… especially since they will probably suffer a lot soon a ha ha haah aha .

Anyway hope maybe this can bring u to the laven side

Heya! First of all thank u so much Nonny I luv them… so much…

who’s the cuddler: Lavi. Allen is good with hugs and he takes the initiative a few times, especially in some tender moments but Lavi does it all the time, often playfully, like hugging from behind and put his chin on Allen’s shoulder like “what’s going on?” to look by his shoulder. He compensates how much emotions he’s trying to keep for himself by being far more cuddly than the likes of Allen. Allen doesn’t mind though, although it does surprise him sometimes when Lavi sneaks on him.

who makes the bed: Allen. Lavi is a m e s s. I think Allen could neglect those stuff once in a while, but he’s trying to at least keep his living place in a good shape. (I also like to think he probably got used to that by cleaning after Cross when they were in hotels, because he found it rude to the housekeepers). Lavi would just grumble something about how he’s going to go back to sleep soon anyway so what’s the point.

who wakes up first: I think it’s kinda canon it’s Allen, Lavi loves to sleep a little longer if he can. Allen wakes up really early to train. If they’re in the same room/dating, Lavi would probably always whimper as Allen wakes up because it’s 4am, but he’d just move along with him in the end, probably commenting on Allen’s training. “Do you have to do it on a chair? Really?“

who has the weird taste in music: I feel like both would have some weird taste in music, and they would somewhat share it a lot. Their preferences are a little to the opposite, but they’re both equally weird and they like sharing some songs together because of that. It drives everyone who is around them when they do that completely nuts.

who is more protective: Both. I mean especially if we consider what happened in the ark. Allen is more openly protective though, as he’s really trying to keep Lavi out of trouble and I love the idea of his heart skipping a heartbeat when Lavi uses the fire of his Hammer, before thinking “it’s okay everything will be fine”. Lavi still tries to pretend he doesn’t care as much, but he’s always there. I mean, when you look at canon, after Allen ‘died” he never leaves Allen’s sides if he can, i like to think he’s being worried for him and just try to always stay with Allen, just to check out in case y’know. If one or the other is in danger, you can be sure they would both jump to protect each other.

who sings in the shower: Lavi. He comes up with a lot of different songs everytime and Allen is p sure Lavi is making up the lyrics, which is completely deliberate since Lavi remembers everything he hears. Allen is more quiet in that regard.

who cries during movies: Allen. He gets emotionally invested really easily. Lavi is a little more detached, and he sometimes makes jokes during dramatic moments, which often garentees him a death glare from Allen… before ultimately cracking a smile.

who spends the most while out shopping: Lavi. I think Allen would try to not spend all his money on stuff because of how he was raised and all, and he is always countng every penny he’s spending. Lavi doesn’t care. He likes to buy stuff just for fun. He buys a lot of food at times since it always ease Allen during their shopping trips, an Allen stops thinking about money for a minute - he’s easily dictated by his stomach.

who kisses more roughly: Allen. It’s a little hard to say tbh but I always picture Allen a little more forward when it comes to expressing feelings this way. Lavi is always a bit taken aback but he’s not really surprised. Of course Allen would, I mean have you seen him playing games or when you took a bite of his food? Of course he would. (But I do prefer the idea of gentle kisses with them hkfdkf)

who is more dominate: bleh I dislike this question. dk really what it wants to mean. If I really had to pick I think Allen in general can break into something like that if you tak ehim into the heat of the moment. But then again it depends on the context of that.

my rating of the ship from 1-10: 11 they’re the baes.
