Jonny And The Jazzuits Proclaims 'I Can See Clearly Now' Jonny And The Jazzuits is a four-piece band that is heavily rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ, the band aims at giving hope to the downhearted and strength to the weak, and light to the lost. The band is greatly inspired by the word of God and that serves as the main inspiration for the band, yet the quartet has another source of inspiration which is Jazz, the love they have for these two necessitated them to blend them together, and that was where “Jazzuits” was born. In a recent interview with Mister Styx of Musicarenagh, the band shared the origin of the band name, they said Yes! It's a sort of play on words with the word 'Jesuits'. We aren't actually jesuits, but we do love Jesus and jazz - hence the name Jazzuits! Jonny and the Jazzuits has released their latest single titled I Can See Clearly Now which is a prelude to the forthcoming 𝙎𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 album coming in the Autumn. I Can See Clearly Now was taken from the Holy Bible - Hebrews 12:2a NKJV which says -Let us continue to "𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩- How the band is able to touch the heart of many through their soulful jazz tune makes it whole song enticing and captivating, the lyrics are heavenly and divine, transcending deep into the hearts of their listener. The song is the safest way to assure the broken that there is light at the end of the tunnel in Christ. The band shared more about some of the challenges they’ve faced on their musical journey amongst other things. Yes! It's a sort of play on words with the word 'Jesuits'. We aren't actually jesuits, but we do love Jesus and jazz - hence the name Jazzuits! Where do you find inspiration? Our primary inspiration is God's Word - the Bible. It is a book that has stood the test of time and offers inspiration for both this life and the next. What was the role of music in the early years of your life? Jonny (bandleader) started playing piano aged 8, but the changed to woodwind instruments when he attended Christ's Hospital school in Horsham, England. There was also a military band there and the school would march into lunch each day. Also there was a school big band that Jonny played in that got him hooked on that genre of music. Are you from a musical or artistic family? My grandfather (who lived to be 102) played the piano. He was more into classical music. Not really anyone else in my family. Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry? It probably started with the legendary Ben Webster (tenor saxophonist), but also Louis Armstrong and other jazz artists. How did you learn to sing/write/to play? Had music lessons from an ex marines bandmaster on clarinet and saxophone, and sang in the school choir as head chorister. What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform? Wow! That's a difficult one to remember. I do remember going to see the British All Stars - a jazz band that were touring the Middle East when my father was based in Bahrain. The clarinet player had a few too many to drink, and so in the break I had to step in to play (aged 15). How could you describe your music? We play 'heavenly jazz gospel'. It's got it's roots in jazz music but it's all about Jesus! Describe your creative process: Lyrics or melodies can come to me at different times. I always record ideas. Later I finish the song and then go to Gert-Jan, the pianist to get the arrangement finished. This is followed by 2 full band rehearsals. Then the song can get played in on gigs. What is your main inspiration? Jesus Christ What musician do you admire most and why? Gosh! This is again a difficult one to an

swer. I think I admire any musician that has struggled to get heard and stays committed to making something beautiful. Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career? Yes. I started as a professional aged 18 played in traditional jazz bands. This developed into more contemporary jazz and songwriting myself. Who do you see as your main competitor? We don't really have many doing what we're doing - jazz for Jesus - but in The Netherlands where we're based Maria Markesini is now going for more jazz gospel. She has a new album coming out soon called 'Nearer'. Well worth checking out! What are your interests outside of music? Reading, running, snooker. If it wasn't a music career, what would you be doing? Probably something with computers - IT or something like that. I'd probably be a lot more well off financially! Haha! What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music? In this line of work it is often quite underpaid, and that can be a challenge, but I always say ... it beats working in a mine! If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be? Better paid streams on Spotify! Why did you choose this as the title of this project? Well, this single I Can See Clearly Now 🌈 is actually a forerunner for the album Songs of Deliverance 🌊 which we are recording mid April 2023. That title is based on a classic bible verse: "You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance." - Psalm 32:7 NKJV 🙏🏻🙌🏻📖 What are your plans for the coming months? Recording 13 tracks 13-15 April Trip to Israel in June Playing a Davos Klosters Sounds Good jazz festival in Switzerland in July! Do you have any artistic collaboration plans? Yes, on the album we'll be teaming up with Elisa Krijgsman (gtr), Maria Markesini (vocal), and Amy Perry from Selah in the US. It's going to be a lot of fun! It's been a rough go of it since Nov. I couldnt fight any longer and fell victim to the demons I was fighting . I have mental illness, that until this moment I kept private from our followers on the internet. I had already taken a break from YT etc almost 2 months ago. But I still spiraled downwards until my doctor and I had to take some aggressive action.

I am now entering healing mode and I am experiencing longer and longer periods of clarity. All the while, I thought about all of the people that have come in and out of Onnis life on the internet. I've always known many of them have physical illnesses, bad social problems beyond their control and most commonly depression. I couldn't help them anymore.

But I had a window of clarity WITH inspiration at the same time. I jumped on that as quickly as I could. I could create something for people and dedicate it to 2 close friends who are hurting.

For the first time in a couple months I felt that joy creating used to bring to me.

It was a YouTube Short. I'm horrible at the new fads of Tic Tok, Reels, and Shorts. I haven't enough talent to pack a punch into 60 seconds or less. But....... this time I could!

Artwork in a limited edition by the artist Hagar Vardimon. Hagar was inspired for this artwork by the beautiful song I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash. The song is about facing challenges, overcoming obstacles and maintaining a positive outlook by looking up to the future. A vintage image of a woman looking ahead and smiling was the starting point of this work. The black and white image became a perfect backdrop for a large, colorful bouquet of flowers. The flowers symbolize joy, friendship and wealth. The red threads stand for happiness and love :) The edition is printed on a luxurious type of paper, which makes the colors sparkle and you get a high-quality print. The art prints are then worked by hand 1 by 1 with red silk thread and numbered!. Designed especially for us by artist Hagar Vardimon

A WHM's Guide; The User Interface and its functions.

I really pity anyone who starts their adventure in Limsa Lominsa, simply because of the sheer amount of STUFF that clogs your screen after you sign on with the Adventurer's guild. There's maps, hotbars, weird logos, and NAMES EVERYWHERE. It can be overwhelming. Here's a quick guide to adjusting the UI to your liking so you don't go blind before you even leave the city.

Even at a quiet point, the names of players will clog your screen if you don't adjust your UI at all. To address this, we're going to start with phase 1 of UI; The Character Configuration menu. You find it under the System menu.

Under the 'display names' tab is the ability to change how names are displayed; color, full names and titles, and even if you want them to appear at all! I personally only have abbreviated names of other players appear when I am in combat for easy rezzing. They're organized into groups, so you can have most names hidden, but your Party/FC/Friends will always pop up in a different color.

There's a ton of other settings regarding what appears on your screen; The best one to know about is under the control settings; the Character tab in that menu allows you to turn off battle effects of other players. It's great if you have a low-spec PC or are tired of getting blinded by Holy.

(Certain actions like Healer's AoE Heals will still appear, so you know the good places to stand to get heals/shields. Also Limit Breaks, because RDM doesn't care, they want to be Flashy.)

Next up is your HUD; This is accesed through System -> HUD Layout. Here you can adjust all the hotbars, emnity/party lists, and other elements of the like. You can have four different Hud Layouts, and each can be set to their own keybind. HUD Elements are separated into four categories; Basic, Duty, System, and Hotbars. It's best to play with this yourself so you can set your HUD to your liking, but here's a couple of tips;

Most elements can be set to a certain transparency and size, or you can hide the element altogether. Your hotbars can also be rearranged into lines or squares. One of the only elements that can't be changed or hidden is your Job Gauge. You can move it, but it can't have its transparency or size changed. You can change it to 'simple' if you like a cleaner layout, or leave it as is. Chat log and certain Minimap settings are configured under character configuration, but the Minimap's location can be adjusted here.

While your personal tastes dictate your HUD, I've found that having a 'dungeon' HUD, a 'General' HUD, and a 'simple' HUD serves most of my needs.

Last up is System Configuration. This is (Surprise) under the 'System' menu. While this is more for graphics and audio changes, the changes made here can help make your experience smoother if playing on a low-spec computer or console.

You can switch between your different HUD Layouts with Keybinds. This is also under the System Menu. You'll have to generate custom keybinds for the HUD swapping yourself, but then it is tailored to your liking. Note that I am using my 'simple' HUD here; simple job guage, only one hotbar and few other elements. Keybinds will still work even if the relevant hotbar is not displayed; the element is only hidden, not removed.

There's a ton of guides out there for more advanced versions of UI that REALLY get fancy with the hotbars, turning them into their own menus and submenus! I'm not about to cover that here, but hopefully this guide gets you off on the right foot.
