Sexuality Headcanon: Hmm, tricky question, because I can't land on one that makes me go "this is 100% it" but pan feels the closest! Gender Headcanon: she/her A ship I have with said character: None to speak of, but I do ship her with happiness along her chosen path. A BROTP I have with said character: I feel she would really hit it off with Petra. It would probably take some thawing up, but it would be interesting to see. Get her some friends, gdi. A NOTP I have with said character: Honestly? Ikrie. At least when we're talking romantic ships, because I really can't see them as anything other than platonic, but even so--what's so intriguing about me about them are the many ways in which their dynamic is unhealthy and cracking up more and more, as it was doomed from the very beginning; and not so much how it could've worked. A random headcanon: Mailen loses an eye to the White Teeth but becomes one of their best and most renowned hunters. General Opinion over said character: The game doesn't do her any favours, but she's an intriguing character and deserves so much more. We're presented Aloy's perspective, who, based on her own experiences (Mailen pushing Ikrie away on the grounds of tribal law is an exact mirror to what Aloy experienced with Rost), is always going to side with Ikrie, so Mailen's view of things and legitimate pain fell short in the presentation. Idk. There's so much there in her relationship with Ikrie. It drives me feral. I want to dig into it and gnaw on its bones for years.
