(Temporary) Character Masterlist
TENNO
Operator Kaine- Hot-headed and impulsive, Kaine was a Yuvan before becoming a Tenno. Hates amps, and typically rejects Tenno culture. Embraces the Void and all its horrors. Doesn't get along with his Drifter counterpart, Callan. Madurai.
Operator Rufus- Fearful and naïve, Rufus awoke from the Second Dream under unusual circumstances. He lacks a connection to the Tenno, and his Gauss is his closest friend. Vazarin.
Drifter Callan- A stubborn, anxious man. Callan is avoidant of his own problems, but will face others' head-on. Took on the role of a Tammherd while in Duviri. Sees himself as a guardian to his Operator counterpart, Kaine, but struggles with having a good relationship with him. Deals with chronic pain as the result of a run-in with a Void Angel. Strongly dislikes transference. Naramon.
WARFRAMES
Kaine's Volt- Standard Volt, sole warframe of Kaine's. He tends to work as a counterbalance to Kaine's impulsivity and powerful emotions. Doesn't remember much from before the Old War. Full of personality, but lacks independence from Kaine.
Callan's Oberon- Standard Oberon, helps Callan manage his void injury. Independent, but hollow. Met Callan during the New War after his Operator was killed.
Rufus' Gauss- Standard Gauss. An infestation scientist who formerly worked for Archemedian Silvana before becoming a warframe voluntarily. Rufus' caretaker. Fully independent and sapient. Spiteful towards Cephalon Anum for blackmailing her throughout the course of the Old War.
Radio (Octavia)- Octavia Prime. A chipper and energetic warframe safeguarding a Tenno who hasn't awoken from the Second Dream. She and her Tenno are somewhat co-conscious.
Sibir (Sevagoth)- Standard Sevagoth. A Tennoless warframe found deep under the surface of Deimos in a locked Isolation Vault. Seems to have a burning hatred for all things Entrati.
SOLARIS
Crux- Wannabe treasure hunter and archaeologist. Fascinated by Orokin treasures and junk. Defacto leader of a small group of Solaris ice miners in Neptune Proxima. Has an Eximus Shockwave MOA leg for an arm. Has a pet Kubrow pup named Auron.
Febe- Originally a Fortuna Solaris. A mother. Trying to pay off debt so her kids- wherever they are- don't have to carry that weight in their lifetimes. After a work accident, couldn't afford to get an arm replaced, so Crux shifted her to working in analytics, data, and shipping. Firm, but incredibly loving.
Lanthan- Crux's second-in-command for negotiations. Grounded and patient. They're insistent about hearing both sides of an argument. A skilled artist in their spare time. Has feelings for Copernius.
Copernius- A disgraced former Corpus Crewman, he became a Solaris as a form of punishment after his squadron failed to repel a Tenno attack. With a new name, and a (somewhat) new body, he seeks penance through his work. He's solitary, and doesn't get along with the other Solaris, or the Corpus, making him quite the outsider.
KAINE'S RAILJACK CREW
Cabu Fakk- Steel Meridian Defender, spiteful and aloof. Has so many problems, and takes a lot of time off because of it. Has a love-hate relationship with other Grineer, and her faction as a result. Ship's on-board Komi champion. Has a begrudging respect for Kaine and zero for Callan. Incredibly gay. Close to Maroo.
Log-Rec Avarke- Cephalon Suda Gunner. Oblivious and naive, but true to herself. Aromantic, in a relationship with Cabu. Not super interested in Railjacks, but knows lots of niche facts about aspects of it, and will tell you about them.
Gallo Hirtu- Perrin Sequence back-up Pilot. Autistic as all hell, special interest is coins and, to a lesser degree, metal. Obsessed with the history of the Corpus. Will infodump on helm to Cabu and Avarke. Avarke appreciates it, Cabu does not. Has a one-sided crush on Callan, but has complicated feelings about it as he sees Kaine like a little brother.
Rex Sonokiza- Hexis Defender. A nigh-elderly Arbiter who chose to pursue Railjack work instead of retirement. Seeking fulfilment in life by helping others. Distant from the other members of the crew.
OTHERS
Cephalon Anum- Gauss' Cephalon. Spiteful towards her for blackmailing them for centuries. Sarcastic, but genuinely cares for Rufus, even if they're resentful towards his warframe.
Velondis Hotarbu- Converted Kuva Lich. A doting aunt figure to Operator Kaine.

Realistic and ambitious suggestions for future ACNH updates
Hey everyone, I’ve composed a list of suggestions that I think could be realistic, quality of life improving, and fun, for future updates, as well as a few more ambitious ones. I’ve posted on reddit as well for potential visibility as it seems like the developers have listened to what players have wanted in the past (e.g. new reaction ability to sit). Please feel free to add your own suggestions or thoughts; note that many of these ideas I’ve seen circulated before but haven’t been incorporated into the game yet:
Customizable fences; e.g. mossy stone fence, flowering hedge. Also a string lights fence would be so pretty, modern, and great for any season, it could turn on only at night like the decorated cedar trees.
Reduce the amount of new flowers that spawn from the snow/rain; it’s always a chore with at least 10-20 new flowers each time. Reducing the spawn rate or only having flowers grow by watering once your island has a certain amount could be a good compromise.
Allow trees to be planted on the edge of land or a cliff like bushes; since bushes can already be planted this way, it doesn’t make much sense to me that trees can’t. This would allow us to be more creative with our islands, and is more true to reality with erosion and such.
Ability to buy placed furniture items from villager’s homes like in New Leaf; it’s hard to say no when villagers ask for items from your pockets, which has led to many of them having messy or unaesthetic houses that are stubborn to change despite gifting new furniture.
Add wiggle room between furniture placed half a square apart like in Happy Home Designer; I loved this feature, it would let more furniture be usable and save space, e.g. a chair or couch that can only be sat in from the front placed in front of a table, we currently need a whole square of space to be able to walk and sit, but it uses up a lot of space and can look awkward.
Brewster and a cafe; I’m hoping this is already a planned addition but I’m adding it to reiterate how much it’s wanted. Visiting the cafe was one of my favourite parts of New Leaf, I loved strolling around town with my takeaway coffee or sitting in the cafe with a friend. A cycling visit from Brewster with a stall (like Kicks or Leif) would be better than nothing, having a permanent cafe in the museum or as an independent building would make the game feel much more complete though.
More design slots; I’ve seen this requested a lot, it does feel limiting how many we have now, and that the number is shared between players on the same island, which is even more limiting. Being able to purchase more slots, like in a recent update with house inventory and Nook Mile Tickets, would be great.
Allow direct access to materials when crafting inside house; this would make crafting more seamless and easy, I was surprised when this wasn’t how crafting indoors already worked.
New bridge and incline options; I’m quite happy with the current available options, it would add more variety and inspiration to have new ones added, such as a cute/fairy tale bridge in white, pink, or green (I’m thinking a style similar to the iron garden furniture) or a rainbow or gold bridge.
Allow more bridges and inclines to be built; I think even just one or two more would make a big difference in terms of creativity and mobility with our islands. Also, I totally anticipated that we would need materials to build these, such as stone or wood; perhaps adding the option of providing materials to reduce the cost of building could help new players save money and feel more immersive with a “building from the land” feel, while also keeping the option to only pay in bells for ease and simplicity.
Here are more amibitious suggestions that may be less realistic but I think would still be great:
More multiplayer content such as mini-games; players have been creative in coming up with games to play with others in New Horizons, I do miss the ones from New Leaf which could actually be quite fun and challenging and didn’t require work on our part. I’ve seen theories that the dock could eventually be a port for Kapp’n to take us to a mini game island, this would be amazing.
Ability to use tools/Nook Phone while sitting; I understand this may be less doable, given that sitting is a reaction in the game, I think it would make the game more immersive though. It feels jarring when I’m sitting then need to stand up to use the Nook Phone and sit down again if I want to take a picture. Fishing while sitting or even something as simple as blowing bubbles would also be nice.
Allow bridges to be made between cliffs (not just directly over water); this would allow more mobility and creativity with our islands, the suspension bridge seems like a perfect example of this aesthetically.
Ability to swim in lakes/rivers; I think it would be so fun, especially if we were able to jump off bridges. This would make the water areas of the island feel more usable and more immersive.
Ponds not connected to a river freeze over in the winter; there doesn’t seem to be any fish only catchable in ponds in the winter anyway, it would be cool to be able to walk over these in the winter.
I think it’s important to note that I absolutely love New Horizons and am so grateful for all the improvements and great changes made since New Leaf, which was easily my favourite Animal Crossing game before this one, and for all the improvements already made through updates. I’m excited to see what else waits for us in future updates, whether from this list or not.

New Post has been published on https://magzoso.com/tech/netgears-meural-canvas-ii-is-a-better-version-of-the-best-home-gadget-for-photographers/
Netgear’s Meural Canvas II is a better version of the best home gadget for photographers
Netgear has released the first updated Canvas digital art from from Meural since acquiring the company last September, and the next-generation connected frame comes with some decent quality-of-life improvements as well as a new, additional size. It’s not a dramatic change from the original Meural Canvas, but it means that a product that was already great is now even better.
The Meural Canvas II from Netgear comes in two sizes, including a smaller 16×24 frame that provides a 21.5-inch diagonal picture (starting at $399.95), and a 19×29-inch frame with a 27-inch diagonal display (starting at $599.95). Both screens are 1080P full HD resolution, and both feature ambient light sensors (which are relocated to a better location under the mat that surrounds the screen for improved light detection) that will automatically adjust the brightness of your image to make it appear more natural and less like a screen.
The Canvas II features built-in Wi-Fi, which is also upgraded with this generation (Netgear, which makes routers and other Wi-Fi products, seem to have brought their expertise to bear here) and they offer new Ethernet connectivity, as well as full-size SD ports. They can also hang either vertically or horizontally, and a new accessory mount for this generation (sold separately) allows for even easier switching between the two orientations via simple rotation.
For the virtual art collector
Meural is controlled primarily from the Meural companion app, though you can also access a web interface to accomplish much of the same thing from a desktop browser. The app features curated collections of artwork, which is available both via a paid monthly subscription, and via direct, one-time purchases. One of the changes that the Meural service has undergone is that the subscription membership now gets you some, but not all of the art available – some premium content is still and additional charge on top of that. It’s definitely not as good from the user’s perspective as when everything was free once you’d paid the subscription fee, but paying monthly still nets you 20GB of cloud storage for uploading your own art, discounts on the stuff that is available for purchase, and access to a much larger library than you get without any membership.
Subscriptions go for either $8.95 per month, or $69.95 per year, and they’re probably plenty to satisfy most casual art lovers who just want some recognizable or interesting works to adorn their walls, and want to be able to change that on a fairly regular basis. And when you use the art provided through Meural’s various collections, you can take a look at credits and descriptions right on the display – available quickly via a motion control swipe up gesture made possibly by the sensors built into the frame.
A note on those motion controls – they allow you to navigate between artwork, and even change playlists and access a menu of other options related to the frame. Basically you wave your hand near the bottom of the Meural to make this work, and it’s great when it does work, but it definitely takes some learning to figure out how and where to swipe to make it reliably respond. It’s convenient that it’s an option, but controlling the display with the iOS or Android app is a lot more pleasant generally speaking.
The built-in library that Meural provides is definitely a selling point, and Meural is regularly adding new art collections, both for paid purchases and to build out the library of those works available included in the subscription. It just added a bunch through a new partnership with Marvel, in fact, including movie posters from a long list of their cinematic universe releases.
For the amateur/enthusiast/pro photographer
The primary reason I think the Meural Canvas II is a fantastic product has very little to do with its subscription-based art collection, however. Instead, it’s all about the flexibility and convenience that the Canvas provides when it comes to displaying your own photos. It’s incredibly easy to upload your photos from your mobile device or your desktop, and you can organize them in playlists, add descriptions and titles, and crop them manually or have the frame crop them automatically to display in its 16×9 aspect ratio.
As a display for your own photos, the Meural Canvas II is hard to beat: It’s a lot more flexible and cost effective than getting high quality prints made, since you can rotate them out as often as you feel like, and the display’s color rendering and matte finish, while obviously not as good as a professional photo print, is nonetheless very pleasing to the eye. When you take as many photos as we collectively do now, but seldom have anywhere to show them off, the Canvas provides the perfect opportunity to ensure they have a great place to shine at home.
The included SD card reader means it’s easy to load up images and put them on the Canvas locally, but I also found that uploading from whatever WiFi-connected device I had access to around the house was easy and fast (again, seems like Netgear’s core expertise came into play here). The ability to quickly change the orientation, which is fast and simple even without the rotation mount accessory, is another big plus for your own photos since it means you can show off both portraits and landscapes.
Oh, and the ability to load your own artwork isn’t limited to just your photography, of course – any image in a standard format, including animated GIFs, can work on the Meural, which means it’s really only limited by the scope of what’s available on the internet.
Bottom line
Between the frame options, which you can swap out for different color options eventually when they’re sold separately, and the ability to upload your own content to the Canvas, it’s easily the most customizable piece of home decor you can find right now. For some, opting to move up to something like Samsung’s The Frame TV might be a better option, but that’s much larger, much more expensive, much heavier for mounting and not as flexible when it comes to playlists and your own curation of art to display.
The Meural Canvas II provides largely the same visual experience as the generation it replaces, but the other improvements make this a much better product overall, with faster, more reliable WiFi connectivity, improved motion controls, more flexible on-device storage and new mounting options. If you like some variety in your wall art, or you’ve just been trying to figure out to do something interesting with all those pictures you take, the Meural Canvas II is a great option.
