*rubs hands together* okay peoples we are talking about Snow today (or. tonight ig)!!

Snow is technically a princess, being the daughter of the [title pending] of Parhelion, a city of icebergs in The Winter Territories. She left the relative safety of her northern town to get some godsdamn life experience HOW is she supposed to handle all the politics of the Territoires if she's never seen the damn Territoires, DAD!?! Honestly.. (and if she eventually wanders beyond the borders of Winter, then really, who's to judge??)

I have not yet figured out how she and Rune end up meeting, because they are literally from opposite ends of the continent. But they end up meeting, falling in like and dating for.... three months-ish. After literally bumping into Les and maybe getting caught up in a brewing revolution, Snow, Rune and Les travel through The Shadowed Grove, where Nix and her people live. (i could talk for HOURS about how Snow and Nix are each others mirrors, narrative foils, their paralels- *inhale* but thats a post for another day)

god i also wanna talk about Nix leaving the Grove and her community, her flight, but that is also a post for another day

So Nix leaves the Grove with the gang to see the world! And also fight this evil conqeruer guy down south or whatever. (evil conqeruer guy = Drift Sandshifter my beloved i will talk about you someday god you're so cool)

Snow.... doesnt like Nix. At all. From her POV, this random Drakonyc (Lisken for "half-dragon) just wandered in here, tagged along on their very important mission, WILL NOT SHUT UP, and ON TOP OF THAT, Les trusts her! After only a week of traveling!! What the fuck!!! It took WEEKS for him to even look her in the eyes!!! How. Shes so confused and hurt. what the actual fuck.

By the time they arrive in Nimbus(?), the town being thretened by The Cloaked Conquerer (Drift), tensions are at a breaking point. As The Conquerer's forces amass in the deserts outside of Nimbus and the resisters gather in town, they prepare for battle.

And the moment arrives.

Snow, with her sliver spears, fighting for the innocent town thretened by evil. Fueled by rightious anger, she fights like a whirlwind. She doesnt know what is happening on the other side of the battlefield. She cant know, how could she? (Later, she learns what happened on the other side of those dunes. She hates herself when she doesnt know if she would have stopped it.)

Nix with her staff and leather armour, wanting adventure, caught off guard by the brutality of both forces. She is felled by a warrior stronger and more experienced, succuming to a blow to the head. The last thing she sees is a dark green cloak brushing across the sand.

And so the battle ends, neither side winning. As the leaders both call to retreat, Snow seeks out her partner and friend, excited to tell them of her fighting skill and triumphs. She finds them outside the infrimary, Les trembling and Rune bleeding sluggishly as he tries to comfort him.

When she asks what's wrong, she learns that her feathered friend is one of the legendary Spiritwalkers, famed mages able to hold emmense power over the souls of both the living and the dead. Les connected all of their souls to his, just for the battle, so he could know if they were dead or seriously injured (btw dont ask me how soul magic works i have absolutely no idea).

"Nix- her connection- its muted, its so faint, we've asked around but no one's seen her, she's missing and we havent collected all the bodies yet what if one of them is her's-"

They don't know. They can't know what's happening in a small stone cottage a mile away, and they won't know for another few hours. And so they wait, they wonder, they worry. (and you can't know either, as im going to discuss that when i do one of these for Nix)

And thats pretty much all i can say about Snow and her journey without getting into some major spoilers for Nix's story and Shadowed at large lmao. This got SO MUCH LONGER than i thought it would good fucking lord.

But yeah. That's Snow of Parhelion, token human of her friends and heir to the frozen jewel of Winter.
