imo rpf has never and will never be the problem the issue is parasocial relationships. has been since the dawn of celebrity
#there are rpf shippers who act insane and out of pocket but it’s always just a veneer atop delusional projection#i think truthing is which i would consider related to but somewhat separate from rpf where it gets messier#but some of the most unhinged ill behaved fans i’ve ever seen are deranged anti-rpf ideologues#who will have a meltdown if u suggest their fave is perhaps not as pure and holy as they perceive them to be#bandom has a lot of these ppl and another non-rpf related parasocial activity we do is choose someone new to be a scapegoat#for the bad behavior of the entire scene every few years. it used to be ryan for awhile then it was pete rn it’s brendon#the tides are already turning against frank and unless dirt comes out against someone else i assume he’ll be next
