I need to get off reddit. I just found a post, with gorgeous samdoesart style drawings....and the artist has only been drawing for 5 months total...5 months since they started at all

I've been drawing for..over a decade and I don't even think I could draw like that

#rave ramblees #I'm gonna cry I'm just gonna quit #I'm kidding but honestly this is very disheartening #oiugfhhf don't coMpAre YouRsElf to OThErs #but their ability to render and the fucking VOLUME in their art is insane for 5 months #girl at 3 years you should still be making shitty devianart circle tool art stop making the rest of us jealous #...#i guess I can take comfort in knowing that they probably only practiced this specific style and subject matter for those 5 months #this is the type of art where you just KNOW if you told them to draw a dog it would come out looking like shit #they're only drawing styalized portraits i don't even think they'd be able to draw past the shoulders #or realistically since they reacted negatively when given the critique to try realism too #I've really cursed myself to be the jack of all trades master of none #i suppose this will benefit me for commissions in the future ig #instead of being stuck to one specific style or only being able to draw human portraits
