YOU READ BEDE'S SONG OF SONGS?????!!!!!!!!!? WHAT DID YOU THINK???????

I DID! I have a theological library card and I am drunk with power! It was really good for me to spend ages (took me a while to read) sitting in the love of Christ for his people/the church, so although I felt like I didn't always see eye to eye with Bede in some of his specific interpretations l the overall sense of it was well worth it! I've never spent much time with the Song of Songs before, was a good time

#i saved the historical theology recommendations you gave me somewhere and have very slowly been working through it #so far: athanasius and this and that's all I've got to #it's been a good counterpoint to some more modern reading I've also been doing #rowena adventures #faith musings #also if you live in nz: this is a plug for theology house #they're based in chch but they will post books to you and you only pay for postage back!#they don't require you to have a particular denominational affiliation (but they're Anglican at heart and linked to the st John's college #library - which do require you to be Anglican or methodist - i am exploiting a loophole here but the librarians are fully aware that i am #and were like yes that's fine so I'm not bothered by it)
