it is SO interesting to me that sweetheart and ms goldberg are both from marvin’s high school experience. and that trina is his wife. the women that haunt him as he tries to understand his feelings are from his time in HIGH SCHOOL (except for trina) and they’re all from failed romantic relationships. part of his misogyny comes from him only seeing women as romantic experiences, which is something he feels he’s missing. which just. makes me look at his friendships with cordelia and charlotte with a whole different view. because these are probably his first friendships ever with women where he’s not trying to hide his queerness. he’s not trying to fall in love with them, he’s genuinely friends with them
