not to sound snobbish, buuuut-- clangen has made me RLY want to revisit the warriors series and i'm probably gonna go to my local library to rent vs buy, but i rly hope they only have copies with the og cover art 😭

the new art IS pretty, but the og art is just everything to me. it invokes such intense (but good!) emotions from when i first read the series in elementary school. i was a dummy and too impatient to wait (like any third/fourth grader, can't remember my exact age) for the first book to be checked back in, so i read the third book first.

but i remember baby erika's heart POUNDING in SUCH excitement when, after ritually checking the warriors-specific shelf every day, i saw it: little rusty on the spine of into the wild. my memories of elementary school are incredibly foggy, but i still can remember the Feelings(TM) of this series and how hype i was when they continued it into the second series.

i fell off the wagon by the middle of the power of three and everything after, but the nostalgia has me SO firm by the throat. and the og cover art has a lot to play in that.
