Mind if I just — *hits them with the Boricua beam*
Elesa’s PERFECT afro-boricua design is by @pcktknife it opened my third eye, watered my crops, slapped me right on the ass, etc etc. Pls give them more love on this post
It’ll be really hard to translate the thick puerto rican dialect but I do that for Los Brujos well enough, I guess lmao
Elesa: You know I’m glad we’re headed to the party together…since GyaraTHREE is better than GyaraTWO*
Fero: Oh please, Elesa.
Caril: Booo, retire. Tomato, tomato 🍅
Elesa: toMATO?? How’d you like it if I hurt you, train boy??
Fero: Cheeky cheeky…**
*Its a pun for Gyarados; ‘dos’ means two, ‘tres’ means three. You get it. I hope.
**in PR, kids say “a chiqui chiqui mangue” when others get scolded. Adults playfully say it to each other too, usually in a mocking tone.
- all three of them speak spanglish. I imagine Elesa grew up in Nimbasa and the boys immigrated from [pokemon equivalent of my home lmao], so they have distinct accents, but understand each other perfectly.
- Elesa’s name in the spanish version of the game is Camila, but I think the name Elesa works in a hispanic background just as well. Naturally, she should have both names and then some…Elesa Camila Lucia Esperanza Providencia — I could go on—
- Puerto Ricans (and most of us in the Caribbean, honestly) speak very fast — Fero’s infodumping would only be tripled by how FAST he can run over every letter of his words.
- the boys look like Iscan’s primos and Im fine with that because as we all agreed Iscan is the best character the games have given us. Period.
- in this version, Ingo/Fero says santa cachucha just like in the anime dub. Because holy shit.
