notoriously issues himself ultimatums that always end up going against him. e.g. went into final selection with the intention of becoming a doctor if he didn't succeed. he did. if the sword didn't change colour he would become a kakushi instead. it did. he keeps saying that if he ever failed a mission or got injured he'd retire immediately and do the kakushi thing. he hasn't.

eventually he WILL fail and will have to come to terms with the fact that on some level he actually wants to be a slayer

is he a cis girl that just uses he/him pronouns. is he trans fem and just uses he/him pronouns. is he trans masc and hasnt realised it yet. is he really just nonbinary and hasnt realised yet/doesnt know what that is. who knows....... not me LMAO his design just popped into my head and well. here he is! orphaned as an infant, taken in by a swordsmith and was encouraged to become a slayer when he showed talent with the blade.
