About metadede headcanons (it's not much of a headcanon more like how their relationship evolved and my headcanon timeline about the Kirby games)

•They were friends since childhood.

•They stayed as friends until Dedede declared himself the king of dreamland, they were traveling through stars until that and meta didn't wanted to stay in one star for the rest of his life and wanted to go adventuring through space.

•They still give each other calls and hangout, but as the time passed (and dedede started to change aka get cropted by power) those calls and visits became fewer and fewer until they didn't talk to each other.

•After that the first time Meta heard about dedede was due news that said king of dreamland stole all the food. Meta realized the power went to his head back when they were still hanging out, but he didn't think he would stood that low.

•Because of that meta knight figured out the best thing to do was to dethrone dedede, he wasn't planing to give dedede any massive punishment at worst he would send him to dangeon for a few months until he learned his lesson, but when he got out he wouldn't get his throne back.

•Meta knights revenge happens and after that Kirby informs dedede about the events and he says he will think about it.

•When it's time for Kirby's adventure, king dedede against his better judgment gives one of the star rod pieces to meta because he trusts him.

•Due to that Meta and Dedede starts hanging out and Meta realizes that Dedede has changed for the better (in my headcanon dark matter trilogy happens between superstar and adventure).

•After that they become friends again and fighters 2 happens.

Now for some non-timeline related headcanons:

•Meta likes to sit on top of dedede's head to feel tall.

•Dedede can pick meta in his hands.

•Dedede doesn't want anyone to know that his possessions has left an affect on him so he doesn't talk to anyone about it, luckly ,even tho meta is terrible at picking up on social ques, noticed something was wrong and talked to him about those things and made dedede feel better.

•When they were children Meta once gave Dedede a rock that he thought was pretty cool, and Dedede said "Yes, I will marry you" since he was told rejecting an offer from a friend was rude.

•In things where meta needs to have normal sized arms compared to dedede (like hugging dancing etc.) he uses his wings.

it’s really interesting to me just how popular the childhood friends headcanon is, considering there’s not much canon basis for it (not that that matters.) it’s a really cute hc though and i’m always happy to see it

definitely always love the star rod thing. it’s interesting that even back then mk and dedede were kind of cast in the same light, y’know? that being a point they connect over makes a lot of sense—your timeline is a lot different than mine here, being placed after romk, but it’s pretty cool that dedede would trust him with that even after that. adds a layer to it.

anyway i drew a couple of those headcanons just for funsies

i do think meta likes to be held, just probably not in full armor and where everyone can see him lol. it’s definitely a little awkward given their sizes though. holds like burger…

i’m not really a childhood friends metadede believer but imagining their dynamic is pretty fun? especially if we’re adding the Spanish speaking mk hc into this. i guess for some reason i imagined dedede as a little more shy here? just not quite broken out of his shell yet…no pun intended. they can have shenanigans together or something

and dedede only accepting meta’s “proposal” out of courtesy is so funny lol. i can imagine him going home after this and being a little upset because now he feels like he has to marry him. i’m sure the conversation that followed that was very fun /sarcasm

poor meta must’ve been very confused ^^” ah but the irony…

it’s just a very endearing concept to me. cute :>

Not sure if your still doing the sleepover, it’s late where I am. Do you have any advice for someone who wants to start writing but doesn’t really know where to start? I used to write a lot but after a traumatic experience I stopped and now that I feel like I could again, I don’t even know where to begin... it’s kinda depressing because I used to love it 🥺

ahh, yes!!!! first of all, i’m so sorry you went through something terrible. being robbed of your creativity is devastating, and i wish i could take that pain away from you.

as far as my advice goes, you’re going to hate me: just write. open up the word document or notebook and write! it doesn’t even have to be fiction at first. you can write lists, doodle song lyrics, make small notes about your day-- just get your hands and brain used to it again!

(gonna put in a cut because this got long lmao!!)

i’ve also found journaling to be an excellent tool for getting back into writing. even if you have “nothing to say,” just write a little bit about your day or how you’re feeling. they’re interesting to look back on, and writing about your feelings is an excellent way to get yourself through any intense emotions you may be feeling! when i’m hopeless, or angry, or just not feeling write, saying so and why (if I can pinpoint why) usually makes me feel better. AND it stops me from misdirecting my emotions at those i love, which is something i’m unfortunately guilty of doing.

and once the juices are flowing again, just write whatever you want! write something based of a visual that inspires you, or take a movie scene and make it into a little written excerpt! headcanon lists are extremely low-effort and generally fun to write, and i think they’re a great warm-up exercise when you want to write but aren’t sure you can commit to standard paragraphs and dialogue.

(this is long i am so sorry)

also!!!! write for your friends if you feel comfortable doing it! i used to write ultra-personalized fanfictions for my friends when i was younger (and i still sort of do since i do reader inserts on this blog!), and it was super fun and low-pressure. my friends always loved them, and it allowed me to explore characters i was already familiar with without having to do all the tedious bits like making up backstories, defining characterizations, etc. I think fanfiction in general is great because you can just jump into a world that’s already been established and fleshed out for you. and, should you choose to change anything about that pre-established world, even better! i for one laugh in the face of canon, and i love changing or redefining characterizations of characters i love (ie, kylo because they did him so dirty, but that is a discussion for another long-ass post lmao). in most fandoms, doing whatever the fuck you want is encouraged, and even if people don’t like it, fuck em!!! that’s your story and you do what you want!!

anyway, i’ll stop rambling now, but please, just start writing again! you haven’t lost your talents or abilities, and it is never too late to begin again. if you love writing, you should do it!

i would be happy to read anything you write, and i want you to know that i hope you’re doing well <3

SLBP Headcanon | Haunted Houses

‘Tis the season for haunted houses – in North America. I learned a few things while writing this about them in Japan! I haven’t been to one, but I am operating with the assumptions:

While there are year-round haunts the most popular season for temporary haunted attractions is the summertime.

Since 1996ish it has become popular to have an element of visitor participation – they are given a “mission” and are personally involved in a narrative that unfolds as they progress. For example, the guest must escort a child through the spirit world to their mother on the other side, or find a fire then recite an Ofuda and throw it into the fire to banish an evil ghost, or remove a cursed tooth from a woman’s mouth and get it to the exit.

This sometimes includes an element of backstory/history to be read before you ever enter.

NOBUNAGA:

Is just delighted

Laughs, doesn’t scream, but compliments the actors who do a good job of startling his group

Probably offers jobs to the really good scare-ers

Doing what, who knows, he just hires people he likes and figures out what they’re good at later

Literally makes every single one of his retainers employees go through to complete the mission

Almost DEFINITELY gets banned either for fighting the ghosts or because he turns it into a competition for his retainers employees and they make a mess of the place trying to speed through it.

After his first one, probably draws out a map of all of the ones that are available and goes out on a mission to visit them ALL

Probably makes you go first because your reactions are super funny to him.

Would absolutely not wait in line

But WOULD demand a place open up just for him

MITSUHIDE

Is not scared by any of this but is slightly startled at times?

Like in a who comes up with this and spends their time coming up with this kind of way and I was so distracted wondering that I didn’t hear that ghost come up behind me kind of way

Does appreciate the romance of the storylines, even if he thinks the narrative could be tightened up in a few places

Has a horrible suspicion Nobu will want to do one of these, so, he takes notes

Spends so much time looking for the mechanics and documenting things mentally that he doesn’t fully immerse and appreciate the experience D:

Until the other guys notice and gang up on him for a good scare

JOKE IS ON THEM he just jumps and then frowns at them

Probably lectures them for disrupting the actors

Has a lovely chat with the designer of the attraction

Very gently reminds you that none of this is real and you’re quite safe, possibly with quotes on labor law and event attractions, when you get scared.

MITSUNARI

Finds grammatical errors in the backstory, corrects them angrily

Also points out any and all flaws in the logic of the premise

And corrects the local history, which he definitely knows more about than any employee of the attraction

AND YET gets way more into than he should

Not scared by anything

Completely disgusted by the makeup on the ghosts – totally derails the entire haunt to give them tips on making it more realistic – probably digs out makeup from somewhere and gives them a touchup

Then goes back to completing the story like nothing happened

Will not dishonor Hideyoshi by failing to save the trapped soul after all

Probably leaves you behind – stop screaming you little fool, we have a baby to rescue

IEYASU

HATES THIS

WHAT A HORRIBLE WAY TO SPEND ONE’S TIME

Is a JERK visitor

Like, sneering, snarky comments about the characters and backstory

Questioning what they used for fake blood – he could make a far more realistic version

His smile while he mentions this to one of the ghouls probably scares THEM like, aaahahahah this guy’s kidding, right?

No, he really could.

Would really just let the demons have the baby they’ve kidnapped – why should he rescue it

Probably throws the actors off by like, offering them this child he is supposed to be protecting, in hopes that it will end this faster

Gets scared at least once and if you BREATHE about it there will be a whole different kind of hell to pay

But you getting scared and clinging to him isn’t so bad I guess. Whatever.

HIDEYOSHI:

Probably flirts with the ghosts and ghouls

Honestly doesn’t mean to make her break character, he’s just THAT SMOOTH

Feels really bad when he realizes that though

Never actually scared but screams his head off silly just for fun

Also clings to Inuchiyo for the same reason

Inuchiyo does not appreciate this

Holds your hand the whole time, which is how you know he’s not scared – you can feel his heartbeat and it never falters.

Would warn you with a little wink right before someone scary appears, because he would notice the cues, but holds a finger to his lips so Inuchiyo won’t catch on.

THAT SAID he will also totally pull the hand-tapping-on-your-opposite-shoulder thing to make you scream.

INUCHIYO

WHY WOULD ANYONE WILLINGLY DO THIS

Super serious about remembering all the details of the backstory and mission though

Gets genuinely startled a few times, but, while you’d expect him to get mad about it he actually finds it funny? Usually a shout followed by laughter. Unless you tease him about it then he gets mad and tries to play it off.

If Hideyoshi clings to him and screams, then he just growls at Hideyoshi to get off of him

100% willing to carry you through the whole thing on his back, even if that means you half strangle him when something appears.

100% NOT willing to carry Hideyoshi, who leapt into his arms as a joke

Eventually he kinda finds the gory stuff super funny – like, look at this fake blood MC it actually bubbles ahahaha

That said dolls creep him out on a whoooole ‘nother level

IF YOU’RE SCARED: Finds it less fun when he realizes you’re going to have nightmares for a week like you can’t even sleep in the closet like you usually would because things might come out of it Will hold his hands over your eyes or ears and steer you through if need be

IF YOU FIND IT FUNNY LIKE HIM: Will spend the next few weeks buying increasingly more ridiculous masks to sneak up on you in

SAIZO:

Is only doing this because Sasuke begged

And to see Yukimura scream

And well, he won’t complain if you also cling to him.

Completely nonreactive, except for the occasional sigh.

Warns you about exactly nothing even though he knows precisely what’s coming

Spends most of the time holding Yukimura back from charging at the monsters

Possibly gets Yukimura and Sasuke purposely turned around

Then takes your hand and spirits you off and out of there

Like two hours later poor Yukimura and Sasuke finally complete the mission and get out, totally exhausted.

YUKIMURA

GETS SO INTO IT

TOTALLY FORGETS IT IS FICTION

GIVES A PASSIONATE AND ROUSING SPEECH OF COURAGE TO HIS GROUP AS YOU GET STARTED

EVERYONE IS FIRED UP

THEY WILL COMPLETE THIS MISSION AND SAVE LIVES

ALSO weeps with the ghosts over their tragic backstories, but then lectures them in an attempt to reform them VENGEANCE SOLVES NOTHING

It’s so earnest and moving that the ghost performers like, don’t even have the heart to keep it up and oblige

Happiest Ending for a Haunted House Ever

You…you have no idea how to feel about this

Saizo sighs

MASAMUNE

Doesn’t…really get it?

Sort of goes through the motions in a quietly perplexed sort of way

Then something scares you so badly you scream for real

And he glares, and offers a single, chilled warning

Everyone freaks out because wait there is a real demon here?!

Congrats Masamune, you are the scariest thing in the haunted attraction

You never go back

KOJURO

Is JUST mischievous enough to arrange all of this – like, suggests sharing some local history and setting the stage even before you get to the attraction, so you’re just on the edge of spooked when you get there.

Probably one of those people who knows the director and employees and gives them special instructions to scare the pants of Shigezane

Finds it all more amusing than scary, mostly gentle chuckling at everyone’s reactions

Would gently warn you by taking your hand and squeezing if he thinks you need the heads up

Otherwise lets you enjoy it however you want to

Appreciates all the hard work that goes into it – the script-writing, the acting, the lighting, the planning, etc.

Only gets one serious, goes-white fright - courtesy of Masamune, who thought if Kojuro was going to prank Shigezane, turnabout was fair play (and who would ever suspect Masamune, who was just quietly going along with things, but really was studying how they did it)

KENSHIN:

COMPLETELY ENRAPTURED

Weeps over the story

Just floats through, clapping his hands in delight at every new twist and encounter

Keeps getting distracted by decorations that have nothing to do with the story

Also definitely tries to pick them up and carry them away

Kanetsugu is having NONE OF THAT

PUT THAT THING BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM

Probably carries you bridal style through the whole thing

Like, you can walk?

Oh but it’s more fun this way

Oh well, if he is carrying you his hands aren’t free to STEAL THE PROPS

SHINGEN

WHAT A DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE

TEAM BONDING

LET US BE MEN AND COMMIT OURSELVES TO THIS TASK

Lets the others – mostly Yukimura – go first, because the whole reason for coming is to give his folks a fun time.

Definitely a laugher (mostly as his people get scared)

Totally scares Yukimura

Also flirts with the ghosts. “Do you come here often?” but not in a disruptive way – he isn’t out to make their job harder

Will only hold your hand if you’re desperate – because he believes you are plenty brave enough to handle everything without him as a safety net.

Takes everyone out for food afterwards.

During meal will make some offhand comment about the mythology of the tale that’s rooted in local history that none of you knew.

WHOEVER SCARES HIM GETS A RAISE

No one does, until Saizo gets the idea for you to pretend to faint at one of the other people’s scares, and you steal a kiss when Shingen flies to your side

BONUS:

KANSUKE:

Walks through the entire haunted attraction with exactly zero interaction, because none of the actors notice him

Poor Kansuke

ANOTHER BONUS: MCS! On a scale of totally chill to terrified!

Inuchiyo’s MC: Not even the teensiest bit afraid – thinks this is hilarious. HOWEVER, will ACT scared as an excuse to cling to him because have you seen this boy’s arms? *shrug*

Nobunaga’s MC: Is mostly like, mortified. Because of course the Owari clan is making a scene could we just go somewhere and be normal? (when Nobu starts making them go first, goes to somewhere between Mitsun and Ieyasu’s MC)

Shingen’s MC: Would you be scared with all the Kai folks around to protect you? A little scared at the start, but gets it together and handles it like a champ.

Kojuro’s MC: Since the primary target is Shigezane, they get away more or less unscathed from a scare standpoint – pretends to be at least a little spooked, for the same reason as Inuchiyo’s MC.

Mitsuhide’s MC: Generally chill, kind of more into the story behind it all than the scare – appreciates the storytelling aspect. Does not appreciate the disembodied hand on their shoulder.

Masamune’s MC: Is more worried about Masamune, like, is he enjoying this? This preoccupation does lead to being distracted enough at least one big scare though.

Hideyoshi’s MC: Fun-scared? That’s a thing, I promise. Gets a thrill out of it, rather than an actual fear. Only time they are for REAL scared is when Hideyoshi pranks them in the middle of it.

Saizo’s MC: I…love Saizo but his MC is probably a bit of a chicken. Definitely a little scared. It doesn’t help that Yukimura screams REALLY LOUDLY. Not as scared as they would be if they didn’t have Saizo’s hand to hold – it’s kind of nice to have the excuse.

Kenshin’s MC: The haunted attraction isn’t that scary, what’s scary is the thought that Kenshin may have these sorts of artifacts and objects stashed in his treasury for you to accidentally stumble upon? Nightmares for weeks about whispering rocks and cursed dolls that you are 100% sure are stashed in his house.

Mitsunari’s MC: Terrified. Also MAD AS ALL GET OUT because Mitsunari left them alone. Will probably research for days to come up with a good premise, and rope all his retainers into their revenge haunt.

Yukimura’s MC: Yukimura’s screaming, MC is screaming, the ghosts are screaming, everyone is screaming and something is probably on fire.

Ieyasu’s MC: Not sure which is scarier: the haunted attraction or Ieyasu and his ire at the haunted attraction. End result in the same – absolute terror XD

though i doubt anyone cares all that much, here are my Thoughts:

i still think i hallucinated this damn finale. it’s not even the soft, gay, LIVING flint ending. it’s how EVERYONE survived. it’s featherstone and idele as governor and wife. it’s MARK REED. it’s JACK’S FLAG. it’s rogers in prison. it’s all - alot.

i can’t believe it. truly.

but my two main concerns: flint and silver.

my friends were literally trying to have a “discussion” to “prepare” me for flint dying. that’s how assured it was in our minds, and that’s how much that character has meant to me. and since the inception of the whole “thomas being alive” story, i’ve thought it required a huge (HUGE) amount of suspension of disbelief from the viewers. really? now? at the end of all things, this is being proposed with no warning? i like thomas hamilton a lot, but for most of season 4 i will be honest and say flint/thomas is a remarkably good backstory but i can’t see any reality in which those two characters, after all they’ve been through, would make sense together again. and i still kinda, sorta think that. there’s too much unknown about where thomas has been this whole time, where he meandered for over ten years, for me to completely accept it. THAT BEING SAID, with all we’d been preparing for for MONTHS, and all that captain james flint has done and experienced and witnessed and endured during the course of this show - him finding that peace is everything to me. the way flint and thomas clutched at each other, their faces, the way they kissed in the light with that FUCKIN bear music playing -- that will be locked in my fucking heart til the day i die.

oh, and them being prisoners there forever?? lmao!! give me a break. i would have preferred more explicit indication that this wasn’t the case, but maybe the writers just assumed we all knew there was no way two minutes after that kiss, flint wasn’t killing his and thomas’s way out of there. and that’s not Flint either, as he’s been “undone”, that would be 100% pure, Star of the Royal Navy, nothing but the best of James McGraw, who has always been willing to put forth a little violence for the sake of the hamiltons, and y’all can fight me on that, too.

and silver. i’ve barely been on tumblr since watching it, and i’ve seen a little bit of the discourse saying silver is the really tragedy of the ending. i guess i can kind of understand that, that flint’s prophecy to him about how unfulfilled he’ll be later down the line comes to past. i haven’t read treasure island (i have spark noted it like a college champ though) so maybe that’s true. but i think the honesty of john silver’s character has always been -- he never wanted this life. never. he never wanted to be a pirate. he never wanted a war. the writers kept saying how he went into the water in 4x01 and came out as long john silver, but literally every act of violence and villainy he commits this season is to protect the people he loves (because betraying billy and the ease in which he did it, was completely about protecting flint). he just wants peace, and he would wait years for flint to understand why: that flint’s ability to keep fighting, which 4x09 and 4x10 more than fucking proved, how fucking relentless he is, would never ever stop until he finally died, either by silver’s bullet or someone else’s, and silver wants peace for the both of them. and he would wait years for madi to understand why, and that last shot of him, on the maroon island, on the hill (THEIR HILL ;____;) -- there he was, waiting for madi. and there she was, ready to forgive. because even his acts of betrayal were for the people he loves too.

although i will say that madi saying silver planning his betrayal early on by looking into the possibility of thomas being alive was incredibly unfair and i’m mad as hell they let that sit as truth, because i don’t believe it. i genuinely believed silver had this piece of information, this possibility, the multitude of questions that rise in his mind, and he had to investigate it, purely for the sake of his friend. purely in the hopes that he might find an avenue of peace for him someday. and maybe later he saw what he learned could be used to an advantage but it’s not like it wasn’t an advantage to benefit the both of them. he got thomas back. there’s no way that can be viewed as entirely selfish.

and fuck everyone who thinks silver is making up his story about flint to madi. fuck you. idk if any of my friends have said it yet and if they have, i’m sorry, but fuck off. it’s the end of the show, there’s barely any evidence to support it, silver has never been that malicious that i can recall, to do such a thing and then brazenly lie about it to the woman he loves. it’s needlessly depressing because we think shows need to be that way now and i, for one, blame game of thrones entirely.

as for my continuation of my writing -- i have never had any interest in fanfiction for canon ships, neither in the reader and now in the writing. i’m beyond thrilled flint is alive and gay and happy with thomas, and i’m happy for the flint/thomas shippers because we were all so busy arguing silverflint vs blint and like really who the fuck saw this coming hahahaha.

but i’ll keep writing silverflint, thanks. i’ll keep at it with the orange stuff too. i feel a little bad that i have to put an AU WHERE THOMAS REALLY DIED disclaimer on it, but not that bad rofl. i know several people liked to say this was their headcanon show ending after the season inevitably went to hell, and since it didn’t really, i hope you all still enjoy it anyway!
