#detective conan #case closed #amv #my amvs #eye strain #heiji hattori #harley hartwell #conan edogawa #shinichi kudo #funimation english dub script #video #happy two-year anniversary to 'no thoughts just heiji hattori'!#while it's not my first amv (it's maybe my... fifth?)#it was the first one i made with davinci resolve and the amv that really got me into editing amvs for real #it's the amv that made me believe i could make amvs 🥺#and in remastering it i deeply understood how ambitious it was! i thought i did a lot of audio mixing for 'messed up'#but that's not even close to all the audio mixing i did here--cannot believe that i did all this for my first big amv project #it took about 20 hours *just* to remaster!#which is something i've been meaning to do for a while now so i'm very happy to finally share the results!#to make this a 'remaster' and not a 'redo' the only changes i tried to make were to the source footage and audio #video now uses almost entirely hd remastered footage from my blu-rays or netflix rather than my dvds #but oh gosh was it *hard* not to touch anything else! i'd do so many things differently now #but this video will always be really special to me (and i can't believe i did it at all tbh!)#i hope seeing it in hd is fun too! i'm so blown away by all the love this vid's gotten #and that it helped increase interest in funi's old english dub is amazing and 100% what i was trying to do with it!#thank you everyone for all the support <333 i wouldn't be the video editor i am today without this vid or your encouragement for it <3333 #like the original the sources used are mostly from what funi dubbed (but mixed in hd by me!): eps 48-49 57-58 77-78 117 and 118 and movie 3 #but i also used episodes 141-142 174 189 239 263 277 291 293 345 479 491 517 and 522 #and ova 3 and tv special 6 (episode one) and movies 10 and 13 and ops 27 31 and 33 and the funi 5.2 dvd blooper for the one line lol #i'm sorry i've been so absent lately! i hope to be more active now... and there are 2 completely done amvs that i'm just waiting to post...

Okay so it seems like Vander betrayed Silco a long time before the bridge massacre. They both look much younger during the betrayal scene and Silco says he was about Deckard’s age when it happened, so probably when they were in their early to mid twenties? Vander looks at least in his thirties during the bridge scene.

But I’m just confused as to why Vander tried to kill Silco. If it was because Silco had plans beyond the Lanes (which Vander brings up as a bad point against Silco during their conversation) but Vander was satisfied with them having control of just the Lanes, why did did he go on to lead the protest at the bridge??

It also sounds like he made Silco an outcast in the Lanes (based on what both Vander and Benzo say)?? But I don’t get what Silco supposedly did for people to believe that he’s some monster who deserves to be cast out. Especially if they saw his eye afterwards, it’s clear he was the victim. And I don’t believe he used the same extreme tactics when he was younger for people to shun him, as he attributes the betrayal with having taught him that lesson. So the only thing that makes sense is that Vander made up some lie about their falling out. I doubt he disclosed that he tried to murder Silco first…

#also I don’t get vander #one second he says silco had his respect until he got too ambitious supposedly #(which silco reminds him wasn’t true because his dream had always been the nation of zaun not just the lanes)#(and it’s vander who turned his back on that)#but then he backtracks and admits he betrayed silco and hasn’t forgiven himself for trying to kill him #(yet he still continues going around badmouthing silco?? and he never tried to make amends??)#so like which is it #also if the betrayal happened after the lanes were established wouldn’t that mean vander didn’t build the underground on his own #but why is he getting all the credit?#it just sounds like he wanted all the power to himself #because if he tried to kill silco cause he wanted to be a pacifist like he is later the bridge scene doesn’t make sense #it’s just hypocritical of him to say silco is doing this for pride or that he’s wrong for striving for more when he went on to do the same #silco #vander #arcane #my opinion #oh also I don’t get this thing I saw about how originally they were gonna show silco being the instigator of the bridge massacre #because he throws a molotov cocktail or something #when the timing doesn’t work out #if vander betrayed him long before then he wasn’t part of the bridge crowd at all

Sometimes I think about the over-ambitious 50-chapter discontinued pmd fanfic I wrote on deviantart as a tween and have the urge to try again...

I think I did once or twice a few years after writing it, but it'd be good to see what I could do with it now, with so much time passed and so many new generations and pmd games :o

#i used to come home after school on weekdays and sit at my desk and just. write directly into the deviantart upload post thingy #it got too overwhelming and out of my control after a while bc it became a crossover of lots of other ppl's pmd fics and ocs #and at one point it joined up with another dude's fic and we were essentially writing the same adventure in parallel #but had very different ideas. i had a general plotline in mind for mine but he had ambitious ideas around star wars and star trek crossover #and both our main ocs were fighting over who the group leader was #overall very funny but one day i tallied up the significant characters in it and when i noticed it was over 50 i was like. yeah i gotta sto #(i love everyone involved dearly btw)#my fic was called pokemon: mystery after dungeon and focused on a lot of crossdimensional shenanigans lmao
