I love the trilogy and it's highly ironic how much the entire series needs to be slapped with this:

The tetralogy is also very blatant about just how wrong Lysander is, some just deliberately choose to ignore it while others miss the point at the last centimeter.

But you are absolutely right about the trilogy. I was thinking while driving home about what to write to your ask that would be an interesting addition:

Darrow not only had to become a Gold to destroy the Society that provileged them, he had to become one to know. To know empathy to THAT level, to question himself to THAT level, to know himself to THAT level. For a long while he kept thinking in terms of us vs. them, but he learnt to build as he processed things. And even though the reader themself is tested through the tetralogy, that is the core of Darrow. Undeniably so.

But enough of my ramblings, book recs:

Iron Widow and Traitor Baru Cormoran - the latter I cannot find in English, so I haven't read it yet, but @mustangdelicate said she liked it, so I trust her, everything I have studied about it says it's a winner. Iron Widow is amazing please read it, nearly flawless debut.

This is just going off the sort of Darrow vibes. I got these recs myself when I was asking about Darrow-like protags. Military prodigies full of rage are the entire vibes. Obviously each character is unique to themselves, but damn, if the rage ain't delicious.
