anyone remember the child bride episode of tokyo mew mew?
#i think it was xenophobia?#that's the only way it makes sense#why would a 12 year old be engaged to someone in the 2000's in a non religious modern country??#by xenophobia i mean that the character is the only chinese character and she already has a bunch of weird stereotypes#maybe the authors thought that child brides are common in china?#the guy is also like a late teen or young adult#super fucking weird#and it's a kids show??#i believe the 4kids english dub omitted or radically changed that episode#i can't find any discussion of it online#it's like it collectively disappeared from conscience
