i feel like a lot of my pet/cat opinions sound like theyre teetering on the edge of "animal ownership is problematic" but i am absolutely not hinting at that. i just. have weird ideas about pet animals
#posts#^guy who is a cat#but yeah like. i very much know how cats and dogs differ from humans and im not gonna try to treat them like humans#< ive gone on many-a-rant about how that exact behavior is my least faorite thing ever. thats what makes ppl project human morals onto pets#hate that. your dog isnt doing things to spite you etc etc#but i also feel that cats and dogs (i am so much less familiar with literally every other kind of pet) DO have very important feelings and#deserve a similar respect that humans do. not in an animal rights way#just in a ''living thing youre responsible for'' way#like my animals deserve to not be afraid of me. to the best of my ability. i wish i could explain scary things to them so bad#bc it can be very hard to make things like wound treatment non-scary. its harder for them to understand that youre not trying to hurt them#i am rambling. cats are people in the sense that they are family member adjacent (or not adjacent) and deserve care and respect not unlike#the care given to a child
