happy birthday to us! @hyuntaelgc
Tumblr media
Their birthdays were only days apart, so it made sense to celebrate together. Seyoon picked the place and went for small and cozy, just because it was wintertime and he preferred curling up on squishy couches over the stiff chairs at formal restaurants.
"Bread here is really good." They usually served slices of different kinds in a basket with miniature jars of nut butter and jams. "Oh, Hyuntae hyung, you can check out your present first." He slid a poorly wrapped package across the wooden table. Believe it or not, an effort was made - Seyoon simply sucked at making things look pretty.
Rich people like Hyuntae already had everything, so homemade gifts were likely better appreciated. At least, that was what Seyoon thought when he decided to make a bunch of paper cranes and put them into a glass box along with individually wrapped jellies that he knew Hyuntae liked.
"You should make a wish. Last time I did this for someone else, they got what they wanted." Seyoon chuckled, grabbing the jar of walnut butter. This was his favorite from this restaurant, and every table only got one. It was rich, creamy and had a generous sprinkle of walnut chunks at the top. Even before the bread arrived, he wrestled the jar open so he could scrape off that entire first layer for consumption. Eating nut butter straight from the jar was an activity of savagery, yes, but Seyoon was never the type to stop himself from indulging.
"What does hyung want the most right now~?"

when he’s on his own, he lives quietly.
no music, no movement. it’s just him and his many, many thoughts. and he’s been thinking - about family - about his parents, his brother - about how he hasn’t spent chuseok with them since he came to seoul, and how that makes him sound like an ungrateful, awful son. but they don’t want him to come home. and that’s fine, because he doesn’t want to either. it’s a waste of time, and they’re a waste of space.
he thinks about hyuntae, too. he’s been doing that a lot lately. it must be nice to have rich parents. it must be nice to have a decent brother. they’re likely finishing up dinner. having dessert. in which case, he can probably call hyuntae in thirty minutes or so - ( distantly, the door to the dorm opens. there’s a sound of frustration. then muttering, muttering, muttering ) - guess he doesn’t have to call.
“tae?” he pokes his head out just in time to see a jacket hit the couch. oh. oh. this is new. “what’s going on? what happened?”

shared space
dorming with @hyuntaelgc
jungmo's used to sharing a living space. he's had to deal with living with his older brother after all. it's no big deal really. the thing is, though, living with a brother - a family member - is significantly different compared to living with a stranger. the stranger in question being hyuntae.
for the most part, it's hard to get close when there isn't a lot of chances to do so. while hyuntae's in the morning training group, jungmo happens to be in the evening training group since he's still a university student currently. the only times they would get to run into one another is either at night or for the weekend training schedule. when jungmo isn't training, he's either occupied doing homework or practicing his violin or on campus.
jungmo feels bad for not making the effort at least. he might be younger, both in terms of age and trainee length, but he could still reach out if anything. no better time than the present at least as jungmo waits for hyuntae to show up back at the dorm. "do i just ask if he wants to eat dinner with me...?" jungmo ponders to himself, when he hears the door opening. well now here's his chance.

after practice ramyeon with @hyuntaelgc
He was finally getting the hang of this.
Haemin couldn't help but feel a little bit proud of all his hard work that he was pouring into the rehearsals that was beginning to pay off. He was no longer unsure of where his feet and hands were supposed to go, his muscles beginning to react on pure memory the moment the music would begin. His singing had improved as well but he still wasn't sure how well he'd measure up to the rest of the main cast, hopefully he wouldn't stand out in a bad way... But there was no use in worrying about it, he just had to practise harder until he was satisfied that he wasn't going to embarrass himself. But that was a problem waiting for the Haemin of tomorrow; right now he was starving and didn't care if he ended up looking bloated the next morning.
Late night ramyeon was a must.
Just as he was about to head out he noticed Hyuntae out of the corner of his eye. Haemin trotted over and slid a casual arm around the other's shoulder as he asked, "Want to eat ramyeon with me? Maybe some kimbap too. I'll pay, of course, since I am the older one." He grinned at his friend. "Just at the nearby convenience store. Aren't you hungry, Hyuntae, mm?"

a starter for @lgchyuntae / a welcome return
many things were changing now, when they were back home from china who would have expected dowoon and nathan both to leave. it was honestly difficult for eunho to comprehend, how would they make it now. what would the company do with them now? many things options were possible, but some seemed more likely than others at this moment and eunho was terrified that they might be forced to disband.
what would he do if they were to disband.
eunho slumps down in one of the nearest couches, staring up at the ceiling.
news of nathan and dowon’s departure wasn’t known yet either, but soon everyone would know and they’d once again be under scrutiny, maybe the group was just cursed at this point.
eunho sighs loudly, and in the corner of his eye he spots a familiar face and he smiles.
“ hyuntae! ”

max flops down beside hyuntae, peeking over his shoulder to see him work on his english exercises. "i think you missed and s there," he comments off-handedly with a mischievous grin in place, arm coming to wrap around his shoulder. he feels like both of them were rather unsure what to make of the news.
max just continues to loop in his head questions like 'why now', 'where was the adamant opinion of him joining agito when wook was still here, when they could have achieved their goals together' and more. the prospect of debut leaves him both euphoric and beyond anxious, the chance of having it taken away from him so terrifying he has troubles not having nightmares about it. just one more month, hopefully. he could do it. but hyuntae-?
"how you feeling?"

starter for @hyuntaelgc
"alright, so i can’t technically say i’m a native speaker, but i learned when i was, like, four, so i think i’m qualified just based on experience.” minji smiled confidently at hyuntae. she didn’t know much about what the male trainees at legacy were working towards just yet, but she did know that the older trainee needed to practice his english for an important project, and minji was happy to help. she missed being the “mentor” figure she was for her sister back at home, and wanted to have that same feeling again, even if the people she was helping out were older.
“so, you know some stuff, right? like, how to introduce yourself and all that.” she was trying to get a feel for how much hyuntae already knew, and really where to begin. “i think, if you’re at that point, you can start to learn some niche things, like stuff related to being an idol and your hobbies. what are you interested in? we can start by talking about those things.”
she pulled a sheet of paper off a notebook she’d left in her bag for her late-night choreography practice sessions, but left the paper blank for a moment. “just start talking, i’ll write a few of those things down. that will help you focus on what vocabulary to learn, and then it’s a matter of putting it together with whatever grammar you know!”

singing voice
apparently, singing was beginning to become hyoseop’s greatest enemy. since day one in legacy, hyoseop’s biggest enemy had been dancing, he had two left feet and was taking ages to improve just a little bit. he was still far from good at dancing nor confident in it, but there was now something that slowly seemed worse than dancing, which was: singing of course. hyoseop had thought he didn’t need singing skills, as he clearly from day one had shown he was a rapper, but time after time, legacy tried making him sing.
and as he was just beginning to feel slightly comfortable in dancing, ‘singing’ was thrown against the man. also, why did legacy keep telling him to practice his korean? he’d lived in korea all his life, no way he could actually suck at the language he spoke 90% at the time.
hyoseop wasn’t sure about how to feel about this trainee evaluations, as truth be it, he’d rather join a new group than be thrown into an already-existing group. but he had no choice, and now he had to practice his singing, together with him sitting hyuntae, who sucked as much as hyoseop. “singing” he tabs his pen, then looks up at the other “how do you usually warm up your voice for singing?”.

@hyuntaelgc
in many ways it was still rather unbelievable that he had gained a proper spot in this whole thing. certainly he hadn't been granted a main performance role, but with the absolute lack of anything even remotely resembling expertise, yuuki couldn't help but find pride in his success, no matter how small it could seem to others. a nagging thought that some could be upset with him for taking a spot from someone else who would deserve it more did creep up on him every so often, but he wanted to believe that he deserved this as much as everyone else did. after all, for once he wasn't slacking off and taking things easily and as they came.
still, in a moment of weakness, the young man felt inclined to inquire with a senior such trainee. "hyuntae sunbe-- sunbaenim..." he called the name he believed he had heard other's call him. "apologise for the disturbing, when you practice. i have question i want to ask. i am thinking of a thing." struggling through his words coming out in the usual awkward sentence structure, he tried to think how to best voice it without potentially offending. "i have only been here for one half year. yet i am not ensemble, but bigger role. do you think people are upset?"

taking another chomp of her snack carrot, jaekyung keeps her eyes firmly on the line of trainees waiting to get their own food. she could hear hyuntae faintly munching beside her, probably with his gaze down the same line as she was staring right now.
“so... what ranking are we giving addidas track pants, muscle shirt,” she inquires casually before taking another bite. “his style is basic but his build is nice so he kinda makes it work. hard to tell what I’d give him based on his side profile... if only he’d turn this way,” she murmurs with a grumble, bottom lip jutted out sulkingly.
perhaps it wasn’t the nicest game to play but it was definitely fun and with hyuntae as her partner in crime, there was no harm done for them to just share a nice, innocent lunch with a bit of looking, right?

BOTTLED UP › @hyuntaelgc
“whenever i needed to be alone with my thoughts, i would come here.”
the beach at the break of dawn – yes, he had dragged hyuntae out of bed at this ungodly hour – is nothing short of stunning. beyond the shorelines where they walk barefoot across warm sand, the morning sun peeks over the horizon, painting the skies a pretty orange.
“it used to be the locals’ secret spot, but someone slipped up and got the word out.” the corner of his mouth quirks as he gives hyuntae a playful nudge. “guess i’m not really helping with that. at least they leave gifts.” trash, really. it’s infuriating.
almost on cue, he kicks something in the sand. it’s a small, clear bottle with what looks to be a message rolled up inside. huh. “didn’t know people still do this.” with some effort, he uncorks the bottle and tries to fish out the note – but to no avail. he holds it out to hyuntae. “try? your hands are smaller.”

AN AUDITION TO REMEMBER @hyuntaelgc
Tumblr media
"What's up with the long face?" Seyoon poked at the corners of Hyuntae's lips. "Turn that frown upside down!" He applied a little extra pressure to manually make Hyuntae smile.
There.
It's too beautiful a day to be unhappy. Seyoon was so glad that they were nearly done with winter. The sun was shining bright again and new leaves were sprouting. Soon, cherry blossoms would start blooming and he could imagine how pretty they'd all look, swaying together in the breeze.
"Did you audition for the new group yet? I just did. I was like hello." Seyoon draped himself across the chair in what he felt was a cool, calm, and mature pose. "Okay fine, I was more like hello!" He adjusted himself into a less awesome, more bright-eyed kid begging for candy pose.

each of the mentors can post details about their workshops for all of the trainees to know in a separate post. if you have any questions related to the workshop that the mentor is teaching, please message the mentor mun!
IMPORTANT ( IC ) DETAILS ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
whenever both the mentor and trainee(s) have free time in their schedules, they will meet up and have 2 hour workshops that will span across 2-3 months ( aka this term ), depending on the mentor’s schedule ( but most of the time these workshops are scheduled during SATURDAY and mentors are expected to schedule at least 6 workshop sessions ). these workshops can be categorized as one on one lessons ( so mentor + 1 trainee ) OR smaller group sessions ( mentor + 3-5 trainees ). smaller group sessions are used to let the mentor teach the theoretical and fundamentals of their workshop while one on one lessons are used to evaluate the trainee’s progress and see what needs to be worked on or focused in future lessons. all of these workshops will be done in one of the empty classrooms or practice rooms in the lgc building.
by the MIDPOINT of the workshop program, MENTORS will be having a meeting with JANG INSUNG ( for the male mentors ) or KWON SOYI ( for the female mentors / EUNHYE ) where they will be discussing each of the trainee’s performances at the beginning and present moment. in this meeting the mentors will be asked to be honest in their feedback because this feedback will aid the trainee coaches in deciding what the trainees need to work on ( individually and collectively ) and whether they are ready to debut in their desired path ( idol/actor/model ). by the end of this meeting, both the MENTORS and the COACHES will come to an agreement over a possible ‘final’ evaluation prompt that would determine whether the trainees have learned the skills and concepts assigned to them.
after this meeting, the MENTORS will announce to the TRAINEES about the final evaluation prompt and will be spending the remaining time preparing for that until the EVALUATION days ( scheduled sometime around MARCH ), when all of the MENTORS, JANG INSUNG, and KWON SOYI will watch every single performance and give their feedback and thoughts to the trainees.
seeing that this is the first time that we’ll be doing this, here are the final evaluations prompts ( either listed on the form OR decided based on the workshop’s description ):
COMMERCIAL ACTING FOR BEGINNERS: on the day of the evaluation, the trainee will be picking an object from jinseo’s “magic box” and each one has to act like they’re in a commercial for whichever item it is that they got from his box ( examples of items inside this box are: chicken, pizza, skincare, snacks, a bottle of pocari sweat, a bottle of elysium perfume, chips, the logo of a video game, a rubik’s cube, a bag of coffee beans, etc ).
YUSHIN’S R&T: RAP & THEORY: each trainee will be given a lyrics sheet prior to the evaluation day that they will have to memorize. the lyrics will be pertaining to songs that the trainee has never heard of ( these could either be lyrics or melodies created by the MENTOR or samples borrowed from the lgc creatives team, but ooc wise, the songs will have to be ones released before JANUARY 2022 ). on the day of the evaluation, trainees will listen to the first couple of seconds to the melodies of their respective song for the first time. then they’ll have to rap and/or sing their lyrics to the song.
ADAPTING TO VARIETY SHOWS: on the day of the evaluation, the trainee will pretend to be a part of weekly idol and asked to describe themselves in the most entertaining way possible ( a plus if you can get the mentors and/or coaches to laugh ). through the segment, they will introduce themselves and show off two talents not relating to singing/dancing/rapping within a 10 minute period.
HOW TO LEARN CHOREOGRAPHY EASILY AND NAIL IT: each trainee will be assigned a 1 minute song ( song can be determined by MENTOR and/or the TRAINEE mun and all must be different songs ) that they will have to create an original choreography to. on the day of the evaluation they must present the original choreography to the mentors and coaches.
( important note: whenever the evaluation prompt mentions “each trainee”, it’s in reference to the trainee that is taking that workshop. )
once the evaluation is done, the trainee will meet up with their coach ( KWON SOYI or JANG INSUNG ) to discuss their honest thoughts about the workshop, what lessons they’ve learned from the experience, and if there are any new skills or aspects that they would like to work on in the near future.
POINT REWARDS
as shown above, each of the workshops are given tier levels ( 1-3, 1 being the lowest and 3 being the highest ). this is determined based on the skills the mentors have chosen along with their notoriety and can be changed in the future depending on how many mentors and trainees sign up. for both the MENTOR and TRAINEE, the tier levels will also reflect the number of maximum points one can get for completing the task(s).
TIER 1  ( FOR JO EUNWOO, PARK HYUKJAE, PONGSAK TEE, TAKANASHI ASAMI ): completing one of the writing requirements listed below will earn you +10 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN ( please refer to ‘skills gained in the workshop’ section to see which skill(s) you can put the points in ). since there are multiple writing prompt options for both the mentor and trainee, you can complete up to 3 WRITING PROMPTS. however, you can only do the writing prompt once ( for example, if you wanted to do a thread with another trainee, you can only do it once so the other two writing requirements will have to be about something else ). if you complete 2 of the writing requirements, you will earn +20 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN OVERALL. similarly, if you complete the maximum ( 3 ) writing requirements, you will earn +30 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN OVERALL ( please refer to ‘skills gained in the workshop’ section to see which skill(s) you can put the points in ).
TIER 2 ( FOR CHEN MAYLIN, KANG MINJUN, LEE YUSHIN, SUNG HANEUL, YOO HYUN ): completing one of the writing requirements listed below will earn you +15 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN ( please refer to ‘skills gained in the workshop’ section to see which skill(s) you can put the points in ). since there are multiple writing prompt options for both the mentor and trainee, you can complete up to 3 WRITING PROMPTS. however, you can only do the writing prompt once ( for example, if you wanted to do a thread with another trainee, you can only do it once so the other two writing requirements will have to be about something else ). if you complete 2 of the writing requirements, you will earn +30 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN OVERALL. similarly, if you complete the maximum ( 3 ) writing requirements, you will earn +45 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN OVERALL ( please refer to ‘skills gained in the workshop’ section to see which skill(s) you can put the points in ).
TIER 3 ( FOR BAEK BYEONGKWAN, CHOI JUNKYU, HAN NOEUL, HAN ROWON, KANG YOOJOON, KURAMOTO MISAKI, KIM JINSEO, KIM SEYOON, KWON HYUNTAE, OH EUNHYE, PARK CHAEKYUNG ): completing one of the writing requirements listed below will earn you +20 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN ( please refer to ‘skills gained in the workshop’ section to see which skill(s) you can put the points in ). since there are multiple writing prompt options for both the mentor and trainee, you can complete up to 3 WRITING PROMPTS. however, you can only do the writing prompt once ( for example, if you wanted to do a thread with another trainee, you can only do it once so the other two writing requirements will have to be about something else ). if you complete 2 of the writing requirements, you will earn +40 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN OVERALL. similarly, if you complete the maximum ( 3 ) writing requirements, you will earn +60 POINTS IN THE SKILLS CHOSEN OVERALL ( please refer to ‘skills gained in the workshop’ section to see which skill(s) you can put the points in ).
just like some of the side events, completing none, some, or all of the requirements ooc wise can have some positive or negative consequences for your muse so it’s up to you whether the muse would participate ( except for mentors who are required to do it anyways ).
WRITING REQUIREMENTS
FOR TRAINEES
as a reminder, you just need to complete ONE requirement to receive the minimum number of points possible but can do a maximum of THREE to receive the maximum number of points.

write a 300+ word solo or headcanon post about the mentor having a meeting with the coach ( KWON SOYI or JANG INSUNG ). possible topics to think about for this meeting are: their thoughts about how they feel as a mentor, the trainees’ progress, possible evaluation ideas ( do note that what was mentioned in this post is the final evaluation prompt that the mentor and coaches agreed upon ), and/or what they could do to improve the workshop. the post must cover at least three of the topics mentioned and you can include additional questions related to the topics if you wish.
write a 250+ word headcanon post ( this would be written similarly to a form of a journal/feedback report ) discussing the mentor’s thoughts about their assigned trainees comments and criticisms with their final evaluation. you could do it in terms of discussing each of the trainees in their group and what the mentor thought about their performance OR you could do it by picking one or two trainees who did the best with the evaluation prompt.
make sure to tag all your threads with lgc:workshops. to validate your skill points and collect your notoriety points, please submit the following form ONCE on the points blog before MARCH 30, 2024 11:59PM EDT.
