some points of interest on kuukou’s nb sukajan!!! the tl;dr of it is that it’s all about reaching nirvana lol:

the skeleton is seated in the lotus position on top of a lotus throne!! buddhas are usually depicted in this way as they are enlightened beings and lotuses are symbolic of enlightenment

the skeleton is encircled by these four flames and these flames i think are symbolic of The Four Noble Truths in buddhism, which are: 1) kutai (dhukka) 2) jittai (samudaya) 3) mettai (nirodha) 4) doutai (magga)

without getting into the specifics lmao these come together to explain the cycle of suffering through continuous rebirth and the way to break this cycle through attaining enlightenment and reaching nirvana

the usage of fire also symbolises reaching nirvana!! through the, y’know, breaking the cycle thing!! the way they depict the noble four truths as flames makes me think is also symbolising the mind, or consciousness, in the sense that in order to fully understand the four noble truths, one must experience it for themselves

#this is vee speaking #hypmic got me wondering if kuukou’s on his last cycle of rebirth y’all lmao #and i personally don’t want them to do anything with that because that would mean death for kuukou and i want nothing to do with that lol #kuukou’s top 10 favourite characters according to a jp poll so even if kr wanted to go there i doubt they would lmao #i bought this book from a person who studied buddhism and also likes kuukou #so they wrote points of interest from everything kuukou’s said/done/whatever #i haven’t started it yet because it’s in japanese lol but i’m excited to ssssssssslowly parse through it #when i have the brainpower lol #like the noble truths thing being symbolised thru flames #because they need to be personally experienced thru one’s own mind is also reminiscent of how kuukou takes the core of buddhist teachings #and twists them to fit the situation he’s in and parsing thru #and since those four noble truths are supposed to be the framework for reaching nirvana left by the first buddha #and this jacket may or may not be symbolising kuukous understanding of that concept………#c: kuukou👑
