Kasane is so good for many reasons but forcing the main character to look at someone’s corpse with her face on and all three times it being her fault is up there as one of my fave things about it.
#this is an oversimplification of it.#like ghe fact that the first time cements the fact that she will have to kill herself to survive. that the person needs to die for the role#and the second time being someone else killing nina. trying to release her. thinking this will also kill the monster. but Kasane digging in#her heels more as the monster. embracing the role even more. and how being confronted with the role makes her finally release that she has#to break out of it. how the third is after she reclaimed her personhood. cementing herself after ‘killing’ the monster. how her face gets#stolen permanently. how the actions of the role steal her chance of living as the person#how society forces one to play their role or punishes them for not doing so. how in the end even a brief moment as the self was worth it.#how she’s forced to continue to exist afterwards. how she can never be kasane fuchi again.#kasane is so good man it’s so good. i love kasane so much. i gotta reread it.#i need this out of my head before writing german or i’ll go insane <3#kasane#kasane manga#meta tag
