okay new favourite car. this is a Mazda Roadpacer. originally though it was a HJ Premier Holden with engines ranging from a  2.8-litre (173 ci in) I6 to a 5.7-litre (350 ci in) V8 but this car was sold from the factory for the japanese domestic market with a naturally aspirated 13b. apparently GM america wanted more information for a mid engine rotary Corvette concept and knew Mazda was the place to go, so they made a deal for the Australian made HJ Premier to be shipped to Japan with no drivetrain so Mazda could try and have a full sized luxury sedan to compete with Toyota. The South Australian made cars were perfect for the deal as they were right hand drive from the factory and it was significantly less shipping than sending something from the states. In Japan they fitted the famous 13b engine and transmission as well as the all-so-Japanese fender mirrors along with a fridge in the boot and a dictaphone? unfortunately the car was a complete failure and was only sold from 1975 until 1977, partly due to the 120 kw and 103 lbf∙ft 13b struggled to move the 1570 kg (3470 lbs) Holden beyond walking pace, using 4.5 lpk (10 mile per gallon) and that it was ludicrously expensive at  3.8 million yen or $9400 Australian dollars in 1975 which is around $43500 today’s money and in pre tech-boom Japan that was pretty serious cash. in the end only around 800 units were sold before it was scrapped and probably not even half of those are still in existence today.

Holden HQ, 1971-1974. The HQ represented a completely new design, replacing the outgoing HG Holden in July 1971. The range consisted of a wide variety of models and trim levels - the 4-door sedan was the mainstay, complemented by a 2-door Monaro coupe, utility, “One-Tonner” cab-chassis, a wagon (shown here), a panel van and long-wheelbase Statesman/Satesman DeVille luxury versions.
