Going for a New High Score!

Hey there Fans! Non- fans, you know the whole routine, Do you like video games? Were you born in the 90′s or 80′s? Did you play video games in the 90′s/80′s? Yes? No? Maybe? either way, watch this anime. Set in the 90′s Yaguchi is a young boy on interested in gaming, he could care less about school or anything like that saying that he plans on being a pro gamer when he grows up (kids ahead of his time). Thought his school doesn't allow him to hang around arcades, he’s there every day pwning everyone that comes in until he gets his ass handed to him by Ono, a fellow classmate (girl with purple hair). though at first, he's really mad, eventually their rivalry blossoms into a friendship. Though Ono never talks they find solace from their lives playing video games with each other and as they grow older the feelings seem to turn romantic. I thought this anime was actually really cute, though I couldn't relate to the nostalgia till they got later in the 90′s I still really liked it. What I hated the most was that the Characters were CGI but the background wasn’t normally I don't watch CGI animes. It's nothing against the anime or anything like that, its the artwork that bothers my eyes, which is part of the reason I can’t bring myself to watch JOJO thought I really want to watch JOJO. I think the show had pretty good character development and I'm excited to see the 3 OVA’s that are supposed to come out for this anime also. one of the aspects I didn’t like was that Ono doesn't talk, I felt like it was strange that all her classmates adored and she never said so much as one word to them. I also found it strange that the school was hellbent on students not going to the arcade at all or playing video games. Even the students thought video games were gross which I thought was pretty odd for 6th-grade boys.  Either way, if you like video games, especially the older ones and are interested in the time before the home console era then go check it out. Now streaming on Netflix.
