👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

I wouldn't call this one wild by any means, but Talanah is a Virgo through and through. More specifically and self-indulgently, her birthday is our August 26th--and on her eighth birthday, you could see a certain mountain being blasted apart in the distance...

💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?

The end of Talanah's quest in HFW, specifically from the Rot onwards. I don't...really even dislike the Amadis thing anymore. Are there other ways they could have/should have included Talanah in HFW in general, without his involvement? Sure, absoLUTELY, and any of them would've been thematically relevant. But I've gotta admit--her motivations as presented in canon have really given me some interesting and pleasing stuff to think over. Watch this space, because there Might be a longfic incoming that encompasses the changes I'd make after finding Ritakka at the Rot. However, for simplicity's sake, I'll just say here that having Talanah join the base afterwards would be primo.

While Aloy/Kotallo remains my OTP, I’ve adopted Fashav/Ritakka as my rare pairing. As it tends to happen, what was supposed to be one fanfic has turned into a series. We deserved more Fashav time in HFW, and I hope Ritakka makes a reappearance in the third Horizon game.

Favorite NPC in HFW who is not in the Base Gang or a returning character? (Personally I adore the three showmen Oseram in Las Vegas) And who did you side with during the Wound in the Sand mission? (I went with Yarra because her silence was to stop the Tenakth from panicking)

Y'all might laugh at me but I was actually SO into the situation Ritakka had going on.

I kind of figured a while ago that, if she was still alive, that would be the direction they'd take with her--then bolstered immensely when I learned about the trial-by-combat in Fashav's background. Realistic, delicious. So that much was at least neat to see play out? Again, as with a lot of HFW, I feel like they didn't do enough with her OR the trial-by-combat idea. They missed an opportunity to actually let us SEE it happen in the present, rather than just hearing about it from Fashav and Ritakka, demanded by another certain Carja who has nothing left for him in the east--regardless of any feelings that might or might no longer exist between them. What a way to end That Quest. It'd carry some satisfying meaning...way more than what was actually left over. But hey, that's just me thinking about it for twelve seconds too long. (Or maybe thinking about it twelve seconds longer than whoever drafted it and/or approved it BUT nah I'm being positive anymore!!)

Besides Ritakka, yeah anon, my other fave would be Yarra. I continue to make eyes at her, waiting for Thoughts to be formed. Clearly I sided with her because I'm gay she was very much devoted to her clan and keeping quiet to stop panic from spreading, as you said. Drakka seemed a little too upstart to really seize control of a situation that could worsen at any moment. Sad I had to kill him for it, though. Would've been cooler if you could broker a truce between them.

ALSO ATEKKA! From the Blood Choke quest!! I really loved getting to actually go on the quests with "minor" NPCs and she was a delight. Same goes for Jaxx, the Utaru/Tenakth Veteran.
