When my Honors Colloquium I class ended in 2017, our professor gave us all a copy of his favorite book, Man’s Search for Meaning by Frankl, with personalized messages written in each book. I just realized I never read it. I should change that.

#Psy's no punctuation posts #correction: he gave one guy in our class Dmitri a philosophy book instead because our professor knew he loved philosophy #Dr. Nichols was my favorite teacher I've ever had. he was a fantastic professor and he was so immensely beloved by his students #he also had a party at the end of the semester at his house for our class and we all had a great time together chatting #the whole class was really close it was so sad when the class ended because he didn't go on to teach Colloquium II #his wife was the university president and the board fucked her over so they both left #he went to teach in SD and she's president of a university in Montana i think?#ok i googled it and it's the reverse actually #he also lent me a copy of Stephen Mitchell's translation of the Epic of Gilgamesh and it meant so much to me in the end #it's my favorite translation of Gilgamesh ever having read multiple translations
