honestly, i don't know if it's canon accurate or not (i'm assuming it depends on individual beliefs and many many alternate timelines) but i like the idea of bruce never hitting dick before jason died. never. not once. i like the way it makes me look at the panel of dick curled in on himself, alone on the floor of that cave. there's the betrayal, because there's always that. the hurt, and shock. and the feeling that along with that boy who died in his colors, he's also lost his best friend. because bruce never would have hit him.
