my two cents on the "finn is so gender" discourse (???) is that people just use "gender" as a replacement for calling him pretty/handsome/cute/etc. so like... if you want to call him good-looking, you can just say that he is.

#maybe i'm going off the rails with my pseudo analysis #but i think people tend to hesitate calling finn handsome or whatever #maybe it's in part due to the fact that he #has got a rabid-ass fanbase who definitely only like him for his looks #and by identifying him with the term “gender” it kind of makes it seem like you're not necessarily attracted to him #just that you acknowledge that he is aesthetically pleasing #idk maybe i'm way off mark here #it's just the same way people would talk about h*rry st*les when i was in the 1d fandom #some people didn't want to refer to him as handsome/attractive because they didn't want to be associated with fans who #are very creepily thirsty over him #but also if you find finn aesthetically pleasing and genuinely “gender envy”? good for you #whatever floats your boat #i think he is a very attractive person so it doesn't matter to me anyway #finn wolfhard
