Been thinking about a childhood best friend planting suggestions over the years to make me want him.
It started as a theory, a curiosity, a little pet project if you will. More out of boredom than anything else. Just decided one day to start leaving little bits and pieces in my brain to make me want him the most. Make me trust him the most. Make me need him over everyone else.
Planting little seeds in my brain over the years to mold me into the perfect person for him. The perfect wife, the perfect friend, the perfect toy, mold me into whatever he wants at any given time.
At first it doesn’t work so he scraps the idea, but a few months later I do something weird. Just a little out of character and it clicks. Those little seeds stuck. Took root and grew quietly in my brain.
So he does it again. More and more little seeds over the years that I don’t even notice. It’s like a hobby. An experiment to see how far he can really take it.
Over the years we date other people and float in and out of each other’s lives and every time he floats back in he checks, discretely, and there’s progress. It’s working better than he ever imagined.
And then we’re adults, half way through our twenties and for the first time in years we’re both single at the same time. So we hook up. Something casual to vent off frustrations. We trust each other implicitly; trust borne of years and years of supporting each other through thick and thin.
And he checks. Just something simple. Something small. It works better than he could have imagined. Little prompts that have grown over the years, mutated into something monstrous polluting my brain until it alters base functions.
And I have no clue.
He keeps it up, under the charades of dirty talk and memes and who knows what else, until I lose everything that I am in favour of being whatever he wants.
