the thing about explaining wrestling plots to people is that it’s so genuinely fascinating and complex and such interesting storytelling but you’re never more than 8 metres away from one of the silliest story concepts known to man. i’m explaining the way these two wrestlers’ tag team fell apart because of their own personal destructive cycles that doomed them from the start and did they ever truly care about each other maybe maybe not and how they’re both fascinating examples of how masculinity can be represented in wrestling but then i have to pull back and explain that their frenemy has a curse which is that whenever his shoe is removed in a match the tag team titles change hands. see what i mean

time to go through some of my favourite relationships with reasonings for each!
The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson)
they all share one brain cell <3 they’re all very silly and I love their trios matches. I miss when they did trios stuff :( but they are very funny and cute together on bte. I love them <33 they also put on fantastic matches together and I find their time as a trio very underrated!
Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page
My OTP!!!! They’re everything to me, from their friendship moments on bte, their moments during the anarchy of the arena match, and just…. Everything about them, they are so cute! Their feud from 2021 is also pretty spectacular as it’s probably Kenny’s best feud when he was AEW champion. (Plz go watch their full gear match, it’s worth it).
Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay
Besides the fantastic matches the two of them put on with one another, I think they have 10/10 chemistry when it comes to promos and in ring. One may say they’re “wrestling soulmates”, they never miss. (Also kind of a “hear me out” post because I ship them MADLY🫠), but please go watch their matches if you want some classic wrestling from two fantastic wrestlers.
The Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi)
There isn’t much to say about them to be honest, to me they are the definition of love in a tag team. Which is what makes them so unique to begin with!! They have 10/10 chemistry and I love how they care so much for each other, the loyalty and love these two share for each other is just… fantastic. I won’t ramble on since this would be much longer if I had the time😭 but they are so amazing and AEW needs to open their eyes to call them the Golden Lovers!
Kenny Omega & Riho
Oh they are both soooooo sillyyyyyy together, Kenny trained Riho so it’s explainable why they are so close. But their mixed tag matches are SO cute and they seem to have a lot of fun together :3 which is everything to me!!! Especially when Kenny goes “RIHO GO!” And she starts beating the shit out of their opponents. We all miss Riho and I hope she comes back soon :(( but they are sooooo silly and funky!! (Also they are pure mlm wlw vibes)

I am making a gif set and staring way too hard at Kenny in his magenta suit. Thinking about how mangenta isnt really a real colour. Its something our brain makes up and how that links to everything he says about Hangman and the Elite really isnt true because deep down, its not Kenny talking. Its Don talking, whispering in Kennys ear making him say and believe these things. How like "Good job Hanger, im proud of you" is really the only thing Kenny MEANS himself. He is proud of hangman because throughout everything, he never become Kenny.
Until now. Hangman is slowly turning into Kenny Omega and Kenny must be sitting at home, a little bit twisted over that. He made hangman the way he is.
How Kenny must be sitting there, watching Hangman become twisted the same way he was and thinking.
