Cruising down the sun-kissed streets of Los Angeles, the car's engine purring like a content cat, traffic seems to part for them. With the window down, the warm breeze tousles Amelia's hair and kisses her face in a way he wishes he could.

He could barely hear her words against the sound of the wind, but he got the general idea. He was happy with that, and glad that he was able to steal a glance at Amelia and see her face lit up in exhilaration and sheer freedom.

In this moment, the troubles and trials of the past are left behind. All that matters is the open road and each other's presence.

And for the first time in a while, Han smiles.

As they accelerate, Han can feel Amelia's hand reach over and take its place atop Han's on the gearshift, their fingers intertwining. In this moment of simple bliss, he knows actions speak louder than words, and he chooses to remain silent, promising himself not to screw this up again.
