I feel your frustration completely , I'm writing a dp fic of my own for Phic Phight as a gift to a friend but I'm struggling and that friend is the one I talk to when I'm struggling with my writing 😡😡

Oh, that sounds super frustrating!
I've been very lucky to find a couple of discord fandom buddies who were open to having a few of Deathly Weapons' twists spoiled ahead of time for discussion purposes, as well as having some IRL writer friends who I can talk shop with without any spoiler worries since we're in completely different fandoms. Highly recommend this BTW.
Still, it can be so tricky when one of your best writing cheerleaders is either the fic-giftee or someone you just don't want to spoil. You're passionate! They're passionate! You'd love to talk about it! … except you know that (even though spoilers don't actually spoil good stories) people only ever get one chance to have a true first-impression un-spoiled blind-readthrough experience, and you don't want to take that experience away from them or lose out on getting to hear those un-influenced thoughts from them yourself.
Except you still really want to talk about it with them because you know they're excited for it too and... gaaahhhasfdggjkthtsh.
