Witch from Mercury is probably my favorite Gundam series right now. I can't say I really liked Guel too much... But he's certainly got style.

These HGWFM kits are an absolute joy to build, especially after that HGUC RGM-79 'GM' last week. They're easy to assemble while still providing fantastic detail and articulation.

I do wonder about that feather though... The Dilanza is something like 18m tall - so that feather has to be a couple meters long. Where the hell did they get it? Are there gigantic birds running around somewhere? Is it just some big, weird, manufactured ornamentation?

I managed to find the Witch from Mercury ACB6 on eBay for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I'm not loving the ACB6 - at least not with this kit. It seems very wobbly and insecure. I think a plain ACB5 would probably be more steady... But I do like that sticker on the base.

KP-001, Guel Jeturk, Dilanza launching

Another build done, this time the courtesy of my gf who predicted me growing to like Bob, and got me the Dilanza at a point while I still thought he was just an asshole 😂 But he turned out to be one of my favourites, and similarly, the Dilanza might be my favourite build so far! It's shockingly well articulated and so freaking *dense*

I had so much fun working on this and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. I daresay the panel lining is my best work yet!

I know everyone’s kinda memeing on the ending to Mercury S1, but I honestly found it pretty striking. I do feel like they may have fudged Suletta’s character a little bit to make it a stronger stinger (there’s nothing that happened between the end of EP11 and the end of EP12 that would make her act gallant of all things in that scenario, not even trying to imitate her mom), but apart from that I’m pretty happy with how the season turned out, and what might come in S2.

The Good: Just to emphasize how creative this unit can be, when you construct the Iśvara, you first place the arm/back/stand-compatible joint connectors on the peg before connecting the arm piece. It’s very clever in how it builds.

As I mentioned, the Iśvara (arm drones) are stand-compatible, and the Ambikā (shield drones) are easily with the right adapters. Even the Shackle Claw adapters have extra ports for easy stand use. The Ambikā, also, despite their size, look great in most poses. It’s a very well-designed unit.

The Bad: My only real problem are the wrists. They’re not loose, per se, but they feel like they can easily become loose with time, especially considering the weight of its primary weapon. Their grip also isn’t great, as the Beam Javelin will almost always slide around if you’re not careful.

The Details: For most areas I went with standard black panel lining and fill, though there were a few larger areas, particularly long, striped indents, where I used metallic green to match the Shell Unit. There were also a number of small Beam Vulcan and Pellet Mine ports that I painted silver. I did try using some gold on the eyes, but most of it got covered up by the helmet.

Overall, this is an excellent build that looks great in Bit/Drone and standing poses. Sadly, because of its wrists, it can’t wield its javelin well without effort, but it can still do a myriad of cool poses regardless.
