Fun fact: I used to call myself 2-G when I was a kid who was immersed in the Gorillaz fandom during the early 2000s. I chose this name because it pays homage to 2-D, the lead singer of Gorillaz. Meanwhile, now that I’m an adult, I’m much more of a fine fusion of Murdoc and Russel.😈👻

Seeing Gorillaz live for the first time was an incredible experience.💖

Guys the show was incredible like omg😭 and I met a group of people who were so sweet and funny and I lost them on my way out and I’ll probably never see them again so shout out to them. I love you, I love Damon and Seye and Jeff and Jamie and the incrediby and insanely talented group of people that make Gorillaz possible.

Last night was great!

So the Gorillaz concert in Chicago was pretty fuckin awesome. I met a few more people who decided to cosplay for the concert too. All of you were cute as hell. (Sorry for the blurry picture with the Noodles my hands were shaking horribly it was kind of a rough night for me.)

Damon Albarn is real and I love him. Y’all have no idea how much this concert meant to me, but you’re about to fuckin learn.

So basically back when I was in high school I took this class called advanced composition. It was a class where it taught you how to write a term paper to prep you for college. We were able to pick the topic we wrote about so we would enjoy the research and writing while we learned the process, so we could be faster on ones we might not enjoy the subjects on quite as much. I chose Gorillaz as my topic of choice since they were my favorite band of all time back then, and still are to this day 14 years later. The minimum number of pages you had to have typed up when you turned in your paper was 20 pages. In the end when everything was typed up, quotes and references were sited, and all that jazz… I ended up with over 40 pages. This was back in 2008 before Plastic Beach was released so not a lot of discography and lore of the bad was out. Not a lot of canon lore anyways. If I went back and updated everything I could easily double if not triple my original page count, and that’s just the thing. I still have my original notebook I hand wrote my term paper in. It’s like the one thing from my high school years that I treasure. The paper itself is fuckin garbage, and I could redo it to be so much better, but dammit for it being my first big paper and it being a passion project of mine on something I loved and still love so much to this day… I love that god damn paper so much. That’s why this concert meant so much to me. Gorillaz has been a huge part of my life for the majority of my life. I will be that fuckin old man at 80 reminiscing about this band because they mean that much to me.
