Random question that occurred to me: you know how people get super attached to robotic electronics (like Roombas, etc.)? Well, it made me wonder which of the Senshi would have this 'problem'. What if the roomba broke and it was just cheaper/easier to get a new one instead of repairing the old one? Who would go with 'buy new' and who would go with 'pay out the nose so that my sentimental vacuum can stay around'?

I MAY BE IN THIS PICTURE. The only thing that bummed me out about getting all hardwood floors was not being able to finally fulfill my Roomba-based dreams. (I could risk it, but I did not spend the hideous amounts of money I did to have all the floors done before we moved in to unleash the potential for scuff and scratch damage. I ALREADY HAVE THAT AND HIS NAME IS HOWARD H POCKET.)

I think we all know that at opposite ends of the spectrum would be Usagi and Michiru. Michiru in the best of times could hardly be labeled “sentimental”, and whatever she has to spare on that front already goes to Haruka. Usagi is of course the most sentimental creature on the entire planet, and so has already named it, and talks to it, and talks back FOR it, and gets it little hats, and she just loves Roomba-san SO MUCH. (The Senshi live in minor low-key fear that if it ever breaks, she’ll try to use the ginzuishou to fix it.)

Everyone else, naturally, lie somewhere between these points. I think more to the Michiru side of things we have Mako, who would no more name her roomba than she would her cookie sheets. It’s a tool for keeping the house clean, as are the dozens of others she uses in her day-to-day. What did she name her roomba? She didn’t, stop being weird, Usagi.

Then I think we’d have Rei, who has a general Mako approach in that it’s a tool. But that said, I DO think she has a favourite broom, and while I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say she named it, there’s an unspoken rule that it’s REI’S broom, and Yuuichiro is NEVER TO TOUCH IT (and neither is grandpa, but ignoring that rule is a personal delight for him). So I don’t think she’d go so far as to be personally attached to the Roomba, if it does a good job, I think she’d look upon it with some measure of distant fondness. (Though nothing, of course, will ever do better than a really good broom and your own personal passion and dedication to a clean walkway.)

Minako comes next for me, though she’s a good long step away from Rei, more toward the middle of the line, I think. She doesn’t have any actual feelings for the thing -- it’s sucking on wheels, and she already has Haruka for that, huh? Huh?? -- but it’s one less tedious chore she has to do, so hell yeah, suck away, little dude. I can see her lying on the couch, amiably talking to it, responding to its beeps like they’re holding a conversation, but if that specific individual Roomba breaks, it’s “Well, shit,” and immediately online ordering another.

Next up, I’d put Ami. She knows it’s a machine, she knows it’s entirely without the capacity for emotions or thought or literally anything that makes up life, and that certainty is always in the back of her thoughts. Still, isn’t it cute? The way it beeps and spins and maps out the room and is so precise. Her affection for it may not make any kind of actual sense, but is real all the same.

Pluto treats her Roomba like a pet. She puts out treats for it, and smiles adoringly as it gobbles them up. Is it different from a cat? Not in any way Pluto can tell! She’ll mourn when it passes, but life is always so brief and its end the only certainty.

And finally, we have Haruka, who comes in under Usagi, but perhaps only because Usagi would never try to hide it, while Haruka will swear with her last breath that she DEFINITELY did not tear up when Rosie The Roomba stopped working one day. Spend two sleepless days in her garage trying desperately to triage the situation? DON’T BE STUPID AND ANYWAY OF COURSE THE ROOMBA DIED IF HARUKA HADN’T BEEN SUCH A SHITTY DOCTOR MAYBE SHE COULD HAVE SAVED IT OR MAYBE SHE SHOULDN’T HAVE LEFT ALL THOSE DORITOS CRUMBS ON THE FLOOR AND OVERWHELMED THE POOR INNOCENT ROOMBA WITH HER DISGUSTING HEARTLESS CHOICES BUT IT’S FINE SHE TOTALLY DOESN’T CARE AND HAS TO GO RUN NOW UNTIL SHE PASSES OUT FOR NO RELATED REASON AT ALL GOODBYE

Which brings us all the way back to Michiru, who does in fact pay through the nose, so that Haruka’s sentimental vacuum can stay around.

Shipping is $4 but will definitely be more in the case of the Tamashii Buddies figures and the Tuxedo Mask SHFiguarts. It depends on what I can get to ship them in.

Sailor Moon Twinkle Dolly: From the first Twinkle Dolly set released. She has a strap so you can attach her to things. Box is opened but only because the candy piece it came with is missing- I didn’t want to keep the figure with food. Otherwise she’s in mint condition and will come with her box. Price: $11

Sailor Venus Twinkle Dolly: Exact same as above except the figure is Venus. Price: $11

Henshin Mirror Gashapon (Prism Compact): This is a beautiful keychain gashapon mirror. Not a compact; on one side is the design and the other features the mirror. It will come with its gashapon ball and paper. Price: $8

Henshin Mirror Gashapon (Crystal Star): Exact same as above except it’s the Crystal Star. Price: $8

Sailor Pluto Keychain: She’s in mint condition and will come with her gashapon ball and paper. Price: $10

Tamashii Buddies Sailor Venus Figure: The closest thing I can think of to compare to this figure is a Funko POP, but this figure is much (MUCH) cuter and higher quality in that its paint is incredibly detailed. (Funkos are pretty subpar in that respect.) She’s in mint condition and will come with her box. Price: $13

Tamashii Buddies Sailor Mars Figure: Exact same as above but it’s Sailor Mars. Price: $13

Crystal Rod and Prism Heart Compact Metal Gashapon Keychains: These two are insanely high quality and beautifully painted. They have a bit of weight to them. They are the exception, I will only sell them together because I only have one gashapon ball for them which is how I received them initially. Price for both: $16

Sailor Moon Crystal Zipper Pouch: Part of a Crystal gashapon set. Features silhouettes of the five inner senshi on one side with Tuxedo Mask, Luna, and Artemis on the other. Mint condition. Price: $6

Luna-P Minaturely tablet: Minaturely tablets are super cute keychains that have compartments for you to put candy inside them! Really pretty and in mint condition. Price: $10

Tuxedo Mask SHFiguarts: One of my prized pieces...I always feel reluctant selling SHFiguarts because of their insane quality and beauty, but it’s better he goes to someone who can appreciate him since I don’t have room for him. He comes with all original pieces and his stand. Box is opened but he is in mint condition. Price: $50

Sailor Moon Crystal Neo Queen Serenity Staff Pointer: This is absolutely one of the prettiest pieces of merch I’ve ever owned. I remember when it was first announced I immediately preordered it, and it was released so much later I forgot I even bought it! The detail is beautiful and it extends quite a bit. It is not a pen. It is in stunning mint condition. Price: $25.

Top 3 purchases of 2018? Just things you bought that you’re really glad you have. And top 3 accomplishments that make you the happiest, regardless of how big or small the achievement was because they’re all important if they make you happy!

...considering how much stuff I buy, I’m having a really hard time thinking of things, which...is probably a good sign I need to buy less stuff given that apparently a lot of it isn’t hugely memorable >_@muffinshark; they live on my bulletin board at work so I’m like “HI PIN FRIENDS” all the time. oh, and the stuff I got from @foxflightstudios‘ LGBT Armory, it’s all so beautiful and my Mace Ace pin also lives on my office bulletin board. and...let’s go with the rainbow necklace I got on Etsy, because it’s a cute way to queer up whatever I’m wearing. (digging through Instagram in an attempt to remember significant purchases also reminded me of two things I regret not buying this year: the Skull Island set with Tom Hiddleston’s character when it was super cheap, and a second Disney Infinity Loki at Value Village because I could have repainted his cape in queer colors and I didn’t think of that until it was too late. situations like this are why I buy and keep too many things.)

as for top 3 accomplishments that made me happy, 2018 was kind of interesting for me because I did several things for the first time (whether or not they really count as accomplishments) and I probably want to make another post about that in general, but...well, the tattoo is a big one, because I’ve wanted a tattoo for ages but I finally figured something out and went for it even though it freaked me out. getting back into cosplay is similar, given that going to ECCC was complicated but I made it happen and I’m proud of the cosplay I did for it (AoU Wanda and Avengers Academy Loki), and in some ways I’m even more proud of the Stuttgart Loki and Final Pam cosplays I did for Senshi Con because parts of them were pretty damn complicated but I made them happen too. and...finishing Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 2, probably? I love them both a lot in different ways, and it’s nice having my own familiarity with such a major piece of pop culture that hits a lot of my buttons.

Sailor Moon The Super Live Report - August 31st (first performance, heart team)

Place: Aiia Theatre Placement: Row 10, Seat 42 (middle, far right)

First, I swore I wasn’t going to buy merch and am SO glad they had so little on offer ;; I bought the pamphlet (which is basically a double sided poster, one of the main image and the other side being info with pics of the different teams) and the light stick.

Second, the show isn’t sold out. Sure, it started a little early (7pm) but it was a Friday night and opening night of a mega popular franchise? Strange for it not to have been sold out, especially since the theatre isn’t that big. (For reference, I was in row 10, seat 42, and the seat next to me was empty, as were others around me). There have been a lot of events and new merch recently though, so I can understand.

They’re also still selling tickets at the door, and are giving out freebies. Little bookmark things of the Inner Senshi with manga art (one of each Senshi, randomly given). They’re quite nice! Another enticement is different events happening after each performance. On opening night they randomly selected about twenty people to have photos with the cast. There is also a high five event on other nights, and it looks like they give out goods on other nights.

The show is VERY dialogue light. As in, there is maybe five minutes worth of dialogue the entire show (not including the live performance part). And that’s incredibly generous. This is understandable – this show is only doing two showings in France, so the effort to translate would be a lot. It’s not cost effective. The audience also more than likely knows the story. The story is the first arc, hugely condensed. I think it worked quite well without a whole lot of dialogue. The cast had to work that much harder on facial expressions and their body language to make up for not speaking.

The show is 80 minutes long. There is no interval. After the play part, there is a song part.

Now, onto the show!

We start off with Queen Beryl and her minions. She’s controlling them and their dancing. Like, SeraMyu is great and I love it, but there is still part of it that’s stuck in years gone by. This is very modern. I don’t really know or care who Takahiro is, but he did a good job! The music and dance throughout the performance is really good! It’s very modern. Perhaps because it was opening night, sometimes the music felt too loud. Not in a good way, but in a it sometimes makes the cast hard to hear way.

Anyway, they’re dancing, kinda like cool zombies? The scenery changes on a screen behind them, showing the battle for earth. Kunzite appears and shows off his sword before taking command of the troops. Unfortunately, the sword was almost dropped… We see a screen of Usagi running – it’s kinda clumsy and ugly, but it reminds me of the live action show, which I’m very fond of, so I can’t be too harsh on it. Beryl then attacks this screen, and we come to earth, present time.

Usagi yells about being late and runs through the audience. Her entrance is GORGEOUS! Why? She’s got glitter in her school bag, so as she runs, glitter is flying everywhere. It’s super shojou and anime. Very simple and cheap, but literally everyone was smiling. I feel bad for the staff who had to clean it up though haha

She stumbles on stage and drops her brooch, and keeps going. Mamoru picks it up, teases her and as she grabs it, they start to remember their old lives. Of course, that’s weird and Usagi’s late, so she grabs her brooch and goes. They part, but then stop, turn to look at each other, and are about to go back to each other when the music starts and sends them on their way. An instrumental version of Moonlight Densetsu plays. As it plays, it shows the characters and gives their names – interestingly, the names are Romanised instead of being in katakana, and the images shown are manga panels. It makes sense not to use the live images, as there are three teams, but I wonder why they choose manga over anime. I honestly think it was a great choice though.

We get a brief scene of Sailor Moon fighting a monster. She’s dodging and crying, but she also fights back. She also cheers for herself when she gets a good hit in, which is super cute. Makes her a very human character. Tuxedo Mask does save her and gives her a chance to fight back, and she runs off after him.

It’s time for school! Miss Haruna makes her appearance~ Honestly her look is iconic (the pink suit) and I love that they brought her back. The students do a dance as they start their daily routine and test results are returned. It’s pretty cute, though too long for me to care about. Usagi rushes in, gets scolded, realises she doesn’t have her textbook, is scolded again, isn’t able to share with her friends, steals Haruna’s book, and joins in on the dance while doing all of this.

Of course, things are going fine until everyone is suddenly infected with Dark Energy (a la Kunzite lurking in the corner). Cue zombie dancing again. This, again, went on slightly too long. It wasn’t particularly good, and the costumes were a little tacky – essentially the stage was mostly dark and certain parts of the zombies/infected people lit up (glow in the dark socks and so on). Usgai basically runs around screaming for a while until Tuxedo Mask comes to save her. Understandable – she doesn’t want to hurt her friends or transform in front of everyone.

Unfortunately, Tuxedo Mask dropped their cane and stepped on it, almost falling. She caught herself really well, so props to the actress there. (I believe it was this scene – could have been the arcade scene)

She fawns over Tuxedo Mask again and after the day is saved, class is over. Everyone leaves as Usagi daydreams with these ridiculous heart eyes. A scene that reminded me of the theme park episode from the 90’s anime – they have a sort of carousel thing going on, and it’s very fairy tale like. It was very nostalgic to see it and remember the old anime.

Afterwards she meets up with everyone who scolds her for being late. They sing about how they met – a very cute and sweet song. Then suddenly we’re in Harajuku!

This part is sort of odd if you live in Japan. Since this production was made for showing Japanese culture abroad, for the Japanese audience, this didn’t have a lot of meaning for the home audience. It was also horribly outdated. The gothic Lolita outfits were ugly and super outdated, and I don’t really associate Harajuku with gothic Lolita. Nowadays it’s a variety of different looks and it would have been super nice to see a variety of styles shown, as well as styles that are from this decade ;; The outfits that the Senshi changed into were ugly clown like outfits and I hate them too.

However, it was a nice attempt in showing off a variety of Japanese things. For example, the girls do a bit of traditional dance (fitting for Bon Odori at this time of year) and also eat fairy floss (cotton candy) and crepes that Harajuku is famous for (at least on Instagram ;p). They also have the dancing with the light sticks, which… isn’t a Harajuku thing ;; More of an Akiba thing, but it’ll slide!

Usagi is separated from the group and ends up the arcade. Mamoru teases her for being so bad, and plays himself. He gets a high score and they high five, before they both remember they’re meant to hate each other. Kunzite is in a mascot outfit, shakes his bottom at Usagi who touches it and shows her a new game to play. I’m… not sure why this was necessary? I mean, it’s low key great, and bizarre, especially because Kunzite initiates it? I just… don’t understand it…

Mamoru is sucked into the Sailor V game, and keeps getting beaten up because Usagi sucks so much. He’s trying to get her attention but she’s too focussed on trying to win ;; She gets better in the second round and Tux is pleasantly surprised. He then promptly dies ;;; On her third attempt, Kunzite throws her into the game too.

The Senshi appear to fight. Their introduction song is honestly a fave of mine. I believe it (and all of the songs) are remixes of old songs (both anime and musical). If I find out which ones they are I’ll edit this post (I currently don’t have internet at home..). This scene is pretty good. Unlike some of the other dance scenes which drag, this scene, through song, tells about the characters and their powers.

Tuxedo Mask is taken away, and everyone is unsure of how to comfort Sailor Moon. I think it’s fitting that Venus is about to step in, but Mercury ends up talking to her first. And by talking, I mean singing Otome Policy. A lot of the performances are predictable in that they go by the order of which the Senshi appeared, so it would have been nice to have that shaken up a bit, but it’s not that big of a deal.

In Beryl’s world, Tuxedo Mask is possessed. Beryl is very pleased and they start to tango. The actress is wonderful – Tux is possessed, but isn’t fully under Beryl’s influence, so there’s point he tries to break free or doesn’t follow along. This was pretty believable! Beryl, on the other hand, is unconcerned – she’s in control and enjoying having the man she wants with her. Meanwhile, Kunzite lurks in the corner.

They teleport to Beryl’s world where they fight Kunzite and his creepy zombies. Honestly if someone aggressively danced their way at me I’d be terrified lol! Kunzite is super strong, and takes down all of the Senshi. Venus gets her sword and fights Kunzite, but they both remember their past. Beryl isn’t impressed and he ends up dead.

This scene was really touching. I felt a lot for her. They show Kunzite’s soul floating away, and her following it briefly, trying to catch it. She realises it’s no use. Everyone goes to comfort her, even though they don’t particularly know what’s going on.

They then have to fight monsters and Mask. Honestly, everyone except Moon and Venus should have been stronger than they were. Venus just got an unwelcomed flashback from her past life and lost her former boyfriend, so it’s understandable when she fails. Moon is fighting the love of her life. Everyone else felt a bit weak.

The Senshi end up dying, and Beryl kills Mask when he responds to Usagi.

Usagi is left with Beryl, and kind of… interpretative dances her feelings out? The start is a little long and messy, but as she starts to go from no confidence, I’ve lost everything, why try?, to I have to do this, I can do this… it’s amazing. She’s taking all of Beryl’s hits and throwing them off and is the strong Sailor Moon we all love.

Beryl tries to suck her up with her darkness, and Sailor Moon walks straight in. She comes back out with her new Moon Stick, glowing brightly. She beats Beryl and dies? But Tuxedo Mask brings her back with a kiss. The other Senshi return as well.

Unfortunately, Mask accidentally turned the Moon Stick back on ;;; I don’t think it really need to be turned off in the first place. (Especially because it looks very ugly and cheap turned off – it’s also silver, when I think pink would be better suited) But that marks the end of all the obvious mistakes. For a first try, it isn’t so bad! I think they could have been fixed easily, with perhaps a bit of design done differently.

From here, there are some quick bows before the song portion.

Song part When it comes to singing, everyone was really good. However, Sailor Venus (Sena) stood out. Perhaps I’m a little bit biased, as Sena is the reason I chose this team over the others, but still. The others faltered a bit at times, or their mics weren’t properly in position, or their voices weren’t loud enough. Sena wasn’t perfect, but out of everyone, her voice was the clearest and most confident.

The songs were all really good choices. There were a few repeats of what was already in the show, most notably Otome Policy in a more pop version rather than the piano version from earlier.

Of course, I’m incredibly biased, but the best song was La Solider~ It’s honestly one of my favourite songs and I’m so so so glad they played it!

They left the stage to come back briefly for a few more songs. In between some of the songs were the dancers getting a bit of stage time, which was nice. Those girls do some really cool stuff, so it’s nice for them to get their dues.

Of course, everything ended with Moonlight Densetsu. Most the characters got solo or duet lines. This is the part where they ran around the audience, giving high fives. I was so close, yet so far T.T Buuuuut Sailor Venus blew me a kiss, so nothing else really matters haha~

We all got a little gift (clear bookmark?) and I got Moon. Some people in the audience were allowed to take pictures with the members. About twenty people I think? How lucky! I waited around with other fans to try and see the actresses as they left, but gave up in the end. It was a good night, and I’m really glad I went!

Summary Enjoyable: 5/5 Worth the ticket price: 5/5 Re-watchable: 4/5 If this was sold on dvd, would I buy it: 3.5/5

sailor moon eternal is FINALLY here after literally FOREVER! i’ll be watching part 1 today and part 2 tomorrow on usa and chibs’ b-day, all without screencaps like the earliest livewatches so i can get through them faster (if i added pics it would take way longer than 81 minutes!). so without further ado... Oh yeah. It’s happening.

Over the next three weeks or so, you guys are gonna find out why 1) my roommate is awesome, 2) why the stuff she makes is awesome, and 3) why you should buy it.

Why “fifteen days” if I’m doing this over three weeks? Because the High Holy Days are this week, kinderlach, and also because I have to assume some night I’m going to get home from work and go “ . . . . nope. Bed now.” (Tonight is not that night.) But I will certainly have plenty to talk about.

SO LET’S GET STARTED WITH SOME LIP BALMS YEAH

THIS IS WHAT I’M USING RIGHT NOW.

(I stole the photo from her Etsy because it looks way better than the one that’s been getting banged around in my purse. You understand.)

So let’s start with a little bit of background. I’m a chewer. When I’m nervous, I chew my lips. You’ve probably done the same thing from time to time--you get that little flake of chapped skin and it’s easier to just pull it than let it keep catching. Except for me, it’s way more than “from time to time,” and when stuff in my life is really going down the toilet you can tell because I’ll just keep going until I’m bleeding. (Anxiety disorder is bad for you, kids.)

If you follow my blog, you can kind of imagine what my mouth looked like ten days ago. If you’re lucky enough to be a couple of reblogs away from my blog, and not part of this madhouse, it, uh. It was pretty bad. My scabs had scabs. It was gross. It was painful. I was not in the mood. So-called medical-grade lip balm was not helping.

So I literally dug into my jar of quarters, as one does during the week one isn’t getting paid, and went “JEN I NEED LIP BALM.”

I picked this one specifically because I can’t taste it. There are reviews on her Etsy that say it’s awesome, but to me it just smells pretty. (And also exactly as advertised.) This is always good when you’re trying to STOP licking your lips. So I grabbed this lip balm, slathered it on, and every time I caught myself licking or biting I’d put on more.

I wanna show you guys something.

That’s my mouth AFTER TWO DAYS.

Look at it, guys. LOOK AT IT.

Do you see scabs or rough skin or anything that indicates two days prior I’d been through so many layers of skin I was bleeding?

I’m not saying this stuff is magic, I’m just saying there’s a reason it’s three bucks where a tube of Chapstick is a buck nineteen. That reason is because Chapstick is basically glorified mineral oil, which is literally a byproduct that happens when we make gasoline, and while it might sound metal to be rubbing dead dinosaurs on your lips it’s actually really bad for you. As in “can cause cancer” bad. Chapstick also has camphor in it. Which feels awesome for thirty seconds and then actually dries your lips out. As in “the cure is literally causing the disease.”

Zeo’s stuff is not made with dead dinosaurs or camphor. As in “if your lips are bad enough you can actually feel it sinking in, which is very weird but also kinda cool.” As in “I am willing enough to talk about this stuff that I took a picture and didn’t smooth out all the weird little red bits on my face, just to make a point.” Instead of being caressed by ancient death and carcinogens you will feel like you have just been gently kissed by Cate Blanchett, who wants you to travel safely from Rivendell and also have amazing lips.

IT GETS BETTER THOUGH FRIENDS ROMANS COUNTRYMEN

Maybe you don’t like chocolate oranges. Maybe you’d prefer a different flavor. I AM HERE TO TELL YOU ZEO HAS APPROXIMATELY ONE MILLION AND TWO FLAVORS FOR YOU (okay actually there are something like 25 of them on her shop right now stop judging my math skills) Several of them, like the Cinnamon Apple, I have never had the chance to taste-test. But I was the official tester for all of the Sailor Senshi flavors, and they’re fabulous. (At least one of them garnered the comment “subjectively, this is disgusting. Objectively, it’s perfect.” Yes, I tested the cherry vanilla one. Eeeuuuurrrghhh. I'm guessing it’s great if you love cherry, though.)

SO WHY DO YOU WANT ON THIS GRAVY TRAIN

I have five good reasons for you. In a handy-dandy list, no less.

1) You’ll be supporting a small business owned by a really rad neurodivergent woman, in a very concrete way--sales this month go to renew her license for Adobe, which lets her produce the really cute art on her packaging. (The rest of the time, you are helping feed her cats. This is also a very noble goal.)

2) She’s trying to expand her business to include offerings at anime conventions, and hitting her sales goal this month--it’s $400 and she’s a little over a quarter of the way there--will enable her to purchase her first artist alley table at a local con. Which goes back to #1, because it’d really help her be better able to pay her bills.

Le Mouvement Final - Spoiler Free Report *Warning - long ass post. I went to see the musical in Tokyo 4 times this year! I had only planned on seeing it 3 times, but well... 😅 Before my first show I got my nails done at my usual place, Cocotte in Harajuku. I asked for the planets (/moon) for each senshi plus shooting stars for the lights. To see more of Mashima’s incredible work, check out his insta! He paints every tiny detail by hand with itty bitty brushes. Wednesday, September 13 I went to this show by myself, but was able to meet up with the lovely @redcat36 @miniaturephantomprincess and @clockworkangel ! Everyone was super sweet and it was wonderful to be able to share the myu experience with fellow international moonies who were just as crazy for the cast as me.😆 This was also the fateful day in which I made the mistake of buying just enough can badges to get myself hooked. My seat was in the 6th row on the left side (facing the stage) so my view was good other than occasionally having a few things blocked by cast members or set pieces. I’m very glad that I wasn’t alone in how much crying I was doing throughout the show. Everyone around me had tissues out and you could hear sniffling throughout the theater. That evening Hinari played Chibi Chibi, and you could hear the whole theater squeal when she first appeared on stage. TOO. CUTE. 💖 Poor Shuu had a lot of mishaps - she flubbed one line, her suspenders popped off, and she almost missed touching Sayaka’s hand during THAT scene. After the show there was a Starlights + Kakyuu sendoff, which went by WAY too fast. I later learned I could slow it down a bit and am sad I didn’t do this for the Lights, but alas. After the show we waited outside the theater to say goodbye to the cast. Hinari gave everyone high fives (AWW) and the Lights stopped to talk to people for a bit! Saki shook my hand and noticed my Kuma Crafts Star Yell necklace and said my Galaxia + Animamates t-shirt was cool.💚 Friday, September 15 This time I went with my good friend @kaikinapela and once again met up with the other girls. This was one of the “fanclub service days” which I have to say was a disappointment. The possible prizes were a photoshoot with the cast, a signed pamphlet, or... a sticker. As you can probably guess, we all got the sticker. I think they could have done better for a third prize, especially considering the sticker was the same image as the flyer. They could have at least given us an original photo! We did, however, miraculously manage to get first row seats through the fanclub! The picture of the stage above is from that seat. I’m not sure it quite does justice to how crazy close we were. The actresses were all about 2 feet in front of my eyes, it was insane. Several times I got distracted from the show by just staring at whoever was in front of me. This is when I learned that Kobayashi Yuka (Seiren) has a belly button piercing lol. This day I also had AMAZING luck with can badges - I managed to pick two signed ones! Rimo and Kaede💛💚 This night Chise was playing Chibi Chibi and she got just as much of a gasp from the crowd at her adorableness. She’s much smaller than Hinari! During the curtain call I managed to catch eyes with Meiku and Mirai. Airi, who is the most adorable ball of energy on the planet, waved at us twice and made a heart with her hands in our direction.💖 She’s too cute! My friend has been trying to catch Yuga’s rose since 2013, but was sadly thwarted again - she did get an apology look from Yuga in return for her disappointed face, though.😉 Saturday, September 16 Same group of girls for this show! This time @kaikinapela and I were seated in the 10th row in the center (right behind ROOT, the former Jadeite, incidentally). Once again I had crazy luck with can badges - this time I pulled 3! Yume, Satomi, and Saki! I still can’t believe I got my two favorite characters (Venus/Healer) and SATOMI. Yume’s signature says “Thank you very much! Let’s meet again!” and Satomi’s says “Satomi Cosmos.” The others signed their name and did a doodle. 💖 We were back to Hinari for this show. I have to say, she was my favorite (more on this later). Though I loved being so close to the stage for the other two shows, this was the first time I fully appreciated all of the visual effects. I hope everything comes through on the DVD. After the show there was a sendoff from the Inners, and this time I at least managed to properly make eye contact with each of them as we went by. Monday, September 18 This was my bonus show. I hadn’t managed to get tickets for it online, but loved the other shows so much I had to try to get into the Tokyo finale. I waited in the insanely long line for the same day ticket lottery and drew “awaiting cancellation (#5).” This means I was 5th in line to get a ticket if someone cancelled. I thought for sure this meant I wouldn’t get in, but no! I managed to get one of the folding chairs they added behind row 6. It was incredibly uncomfortable but WORTH IT. This meant I was in front of an aisle, which is a good place to be on the last day. During Moonlight Densetsu everyone but the villains, Cosmos, ChibiChibi, and Moon (with her giant wings) ran out into the audience. At first no one was coming down our aisle, but I made sure to hold my yellow light high and Rimo saw! She came down our row for high fives. 💛 Later Mikako made a second pass and came down our aisle too. ♥ When everyone returned to the stage to wave and bow, Rimo pointed at me, waved, and blew a kiss! I almost didn’t believe she was aiming at me since she was on the opposite side of the stage, but I was the only yellow light around. 😭 💛 　That evening the inners + Tux gave short speeches, and I could see Meiku trying not to cry.💔 　Poor little Chise just looked bewildered the whole time. After the show I managed to talk to all 3 of the Lights! I was wearing my signed Healer and Venus badges, so Saki gently patted her own badge and then flicked Venus in the face.😆 Meiku was very surprised when I complimented her singing - she doesn’t seem to be very confident, which is unfortunate because she’s very talented. Riona also noticed my badges and asked if I shipped Yaten/Minako. When I said yes, she said “What about Taiki/Ami?” I told her I love them too, and she wondered if she had forced me to say it (she did not). She asked me to wear a Mercury shirt next time.💙 I also met a few other lovely international moonies that evening, but sadly I don’t know their tumblrs! If you guys see this, message me! Thanks to trading with friends, through twitter, and at the venue, both @kaikinapela and I managed to collect a full set of badges!

Overall Impressions I would rank this as one of the best musicals of all time - including the classic Bandai era. I will admit to being biased because the Stars arc is my favorite, but they really pulled out all the stops. The entire cast was amazing, even those who had small roles. Singing was fantastic across the board - the inners have improved a lot and all of the new cast members were great. While it was sad not having Karin stay for the “last” (last!?) musical, Mirai did a great job and was a strong singer. I think everyone will be especially blown away by Galaxia and Kakyuu (who is once again an opera singer!). If you’ve listened to any of Isuzu Coco’s music through her twitter, her Galaxia voice is so different! Much deeper and more powerful. Poor Sayaka seemed to be sick during the Tokyo shows - her voice got progressively weaker and more hoarse. Hopefully she recovers by the finale! The set and visual effects dramatically improved with Amour Eternal and this musical continues that trend. Hotaru does some impressive running up and down moving stairs in her Eternal Moon costume, all of the attacks are projected, and we again have part of a scene projected as a video on stage. You’ll see all the Sailor Crystals float away, which adds another layer of emotion to those scenes. Both actresses playing Chibi Chibi were adorable, but Hinari won out as my favorite. Being a little older she was able to speak all of her lines clearly (Chise’s speech was muddled) and she showed a lot more emotion in both her movements and expressions. I’m glad she’ll be on the DVD performance. A few things were different each show (details in my spoilery post to come), so I hope some sort of compilation ends up on the DVD! There were lots of throwbacks to the Bandai era as well as a few references to the past Nelke era musicals. I think overall in tone this was a nice blend of the two styles - there was a lot of humor added and plenty of references to specific anime scenes, but the overall plot was manga oriented and gave proper weight to its serious moments. They find smart ways to keep the whole cast involved throughout the show, despite everyone being killed off pretty quickly (I don’t consider that a spoiler since it’s a manga plot point). Everyone is going to LOVE Cosmos. I was seriously shocked by how much Satomi had improved at singing. Taking lessons with Coco and Asami seriously paid off. They found a really touching way to give her a bit more story time than she had in the manga, and I think they’re quite clear about who she really is in this canon. This musical had a TON of original music - only two previously used songs made an appearance, and both in shortened versions. “Celestial Born” was made into it’s own song (it initially was part of “Shuketsu - Yume no Atsumaru Basho” during Amour Eternal) and “Music of the Spheres” is used briefly in battle. They save the throwback music mostly for the post-musical curtain call show, which I appreciated. For the first time since the revival of the musicals I loved ALL of the songs (Amour Eternal comes close). One of my few complaints has been the abundance of “talk singing,” where long lines of dialogue (often ripped straight from the manga) are set to awkward, stumbling melody. There is little to none of that this time, and far fewer songs are interrupted by long bits of dialogue. Hopefully sales of the Amour Eternal CD will be good enough to entice them to release another soundtrack - this time with a lot more music. They weren’t kidding when they said everyone has a moment to shine. I fell in love with Nyanko and Mouse, despite them having such small parts. Miraculously, even with all the dying and with an enormous cast, everyone was given enough to work with that they were able to truly embody their character. If this truly is the last musical, I’m going to be super bummed that this cast doesn’t get at least one more opportunity to show off how amazing they are.

I Went on Another (Actually Several) Sailor Moon Doujinshi Benders

This year has been really busy for me with work, which has the disadvantage of leaving me with not as much time as I’m used to having, BUT it also means I’ve had a lot of disposable income, and what else would I like to do but buy loads and loads of doujinshi? I also had corrective jaw surgery on my lower jaw about six weeks ago that I’d needed for a long time, and the fact that I had all this time afterwards where I was pretty much just sitting around at home feeling tired and not up to much meant I had way too much opportunity to go online and shop for fanbooks - Also I finally got up the courage to create my own Surugaya account and use a Japanese forwarding address, so that has made it a lot easier and cheaper to buy from them whenever I want. These are just a few of the goodies I’ve gotten my hands on recently from various sources.

Alice Books Purchases:

Alice Books is a Japanese online store that sells new doujinshi, and they do international shipping! The only option for international customers is credit card payment, which obviously won’t work for everyone. I’ve placed two orders with them so far, and these are the total purchases I received:

These two. Day Dream Tastes Bitter Sweet is a Minako x Yaten pairing, which I don’t really go for, BUT, I do love Starlights-centric books, and the artwork and story in this one is really beautiful. Plus I will take any and all well-drawn pictures of Yaten / Healer, just give them to me now. This book actually has a companion volume, which was sadly already sold out on Alice Books, but I managed to source it elsewhere and it should be getting delivered soon! Astral Box Second is, obviously, Harumichi. It’s primarily a text story, but I really like what artwork it does have.

These three. These are all by the same circle. Q_A is a really cute story centred on Sailor Pluto and Chibiusa’s friendship, with a bit of Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion thrown in. The other two revolve around the Inner Senshi and Sailor Moon. They were all super cheap, so I was like, why not?

Studio Canopus’s latest. This is a text novel that’s a “honeymoon” story about Haruka and Michiru set after the end of the S Season. It came with a few extras, including a postcard and some Studio Canopus Times newsletters.

This circle was quite prolific for a while on the Harumichi front during the early to mid 2000s. Their works don’t seem to be particularly sought after, but they also don’t come up for sale that often, which makes them a bit hard to come by. I really adore their work, so I was happy to add all these to my collection.

Works by Mee! Off Gumi:

These are old 90s era Sailor Moon doujinshi. This circle did a whole series of Sailor Moon doujins with variations on the name Full Moon Flower Mirror, including three H & M books that were specifically all about Haruka and Michiru. The two pictured at the bottom here are Full Moon Flower Mirror H & M and Full Moon Flower Mirror H & M II. (Still on the lookout for H & M III). The one at the top with the pink cover is, I think, called something like Full Moon Fight - it’s based around the events of the S season and features both the Inner and Outer senshi. I don’t know too much about this circle, other than the fact that they produced some really nice Sailor Saturn books. This is a reprint book that actually contains three different stories. They’re very atmospheric and close to the anime style of artwork, and we also get a fair bit of bonus Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna content.

Superlovers by Gold:

I believe I’ve posted pics of this one before, but it has a kind of interesting acquisition story which I don’t think I’ve shared. Gold is the circle name of two people who go by the pseudonyms of Shanghai Lily and Hong Kong Marie. They produced a handful of Sailor Moon doujinshi in the 90s, all of which are now pretty rare and expensive. I think at least one half of the circle went on to produce a successful professional manga of some kind. I think they only made two books centred on Haruka and Michiru, this one and another one with a fully red cover which I don’t have. Anyway, titles by this circle will typically sell on Mandarake for upwards of 3000 yen (pretty steep for a single title), and they don’t pop up very often, but my copy I picked up for a few hundred yen off of yahoo auctions a couple of years ago. I actually didn’t know anything about the title or the circle at the time, I just thought it looked like a cute book, and no one bid against me so I got it really cheap. And it is a really cute story, so I’m even happier that I was able to get it for such a reasonable price.

Some single miscellaneous books:

Birthday is recent-ish, from 2012. It’s not very explicit, despite being labelled as an adult book. Haruka and Michiru go on a cruise, and are all dressed up and pretty much just stand around kissing and cuddling in the moonlight (all of which I thoroughly approve of as doujinshi material). Then there’s a text story, and finally a very short, sweet story where Haruka and Michiru are in bed together. The whole thing is adorable from beginning to end, with really great artwork.

The book in the middle with Sailor Uranus on the cover is from the 90s again. It’s primarily a text story, though there’s a number of really beautiful drawings of the outer senshi throughout. I get the impression this is a Silver Millennium story focused on the Outers, and I’m pretty sure this particular circle produced quite a few Sailor Moon books. I only just got this delivered today, so I need to do a bit more research to figure out exactly what I’ve bought, lol.

Strawberry Candle is a really pretty illustrations only book made by one of the manga assistants who worked on the Sailor Moon manga. There are illustrations of all the Inner and Outer senshi and the Starlights, as well as characters from a bunch of other anime. It’s a really lovely book, but I’m not gonna lie, I got it mostly cos I wanted the Outers and the Starlights.

So yeah, those are a few of things I’ve bought recently. I’ve also been working on expanding my Monster Pharmacy and Mad Tea Party collections, I’ve actually got a lot of books by both these circles now, I just couldn’t be bothered to take them all out and photograph them. I’ve had A LOT of fun getting all these, kind of the perfect hobby for convalesce after surgery, and my total collection is now sitting at just over 200 different doujins.

Sailor Moon The Super Live Report - September 7th (first performance, musical note team)

Place: Aiia Theatre Placement: Row 8, Seat 32 (first row, second block, roughly middle)

Show part Not gonna lie, the only reason why I went a third time was because of Chiyuu. Kasai Tomomi, former member of AKB48, is Sailor Moon this time. I’m not even that big of a fan of hers, tbh, she’s done some stuff I really don’t agree with in the past, but she’s besties with one of my fave singers and her last album was LIT. So hopefully this is her new STAR-T.

This performance turned out to be my favourite of the three. The seats were the best, the high touch was the best (partly because I went to the previous high touch), vocals were on point, Chiyuu was great and so many other things.

To start with, they open the doors an hour before show time. You then need to wait in the lobby for half an hour before they let you into the seating area. So there I was, chilling in the lobby, when two older ladies come up and talk to a staff member after being introduced by another staff member. Jaws dropped. It was the original voice actresses for Jupiter and Venus!

They were standing less than a meter from me! It was honestly so surreal?? They were dressed casual and just chatted normally before going off to the side to wait like everyone else. Rica (Venus) had a ridiculous amount of Venus merch on her, which was honestly adorable. She also responded to me on twitter later <3 (Speaking of which, I commented on Kunzite’s insta twice and got responses both time. She seems lovely, so please support her too!)

As a quick cast comparison, personally I like this group’s vocals. I haven’t checked but they probably are more musically trained. Chiyuu was an idol for six years or so, and is still continuing her solo career, so it’d kinda make sense if the note team was made of those with a musical background. I did think the vocals were a bit more towards “we’re senshi” side; the heart team was more “we’re teenagers who moonlight as senshi” type vocals (lighter? I guess? Higher pitched?). However, all of the vocals were a lot more stable in this team, with none of the mic issues etc of heart team.

I still prefer Sena as Venus. She was a lot more bubbly, while also being able to do the senshi side well. This Venus had very little reaction to Kunzite’s death. Though I did notice this time that the rest of the senshi appear to get their memories back at this time too. Jupiter really stood out this time around. You could see she was putting her absolute all into it and I can really respect that. This Mercury was also really great. Her voice was just sweet enough, but had the power heart team’s Mercury lacked. As a whole, this cast seemed less nervous and more confident, and smiled a lot more often.

Kasai as Moon was AMAZING! The other Moon stuck to the script, but Kasai kept adding in natural sound? I guess? She made the dialogue flow more, by adding a few extra words or cried more or whatever. It made it seem less like a play, and more real. She definitely got the dreamy side of Usagi down, and she held the confidence of Moon against Beryl, which I adored. She was honestly the perfect Usagi and I’m so glad she was able to have this opportunity. If this is released on dvd (note, no camera at shonichi or tonight, but there was a camera for the last show of heart team), I hope they release a version with her team <3

There were pretty much no mistakes from this cast. They seem to have improved on everyone else’s mistakes. This isn’t just the cast – the crew has done this as well. For example, where the classmates are zombified, they’ve had more glow in the dark components to their costumes. There were no mic issues. There was no issue with the sheet/Beryl’s dark energy.

The only mistake came from Tuxedo Mask. He couldn’t get the veil into Usagi’s hair. In the end he was like ‘well who cares lmao’ and put it on one of the horses lmaoooo Oops, sorry, another lie. Moon accidentally turned the moon rod on for a brief second. I still think the rod should have been painted so it wasn’t as ugly and it should have been kept on tbh. Overall, it was a flawless performance.

As for the differences in the performance, apart from Usagi being more vocal in the best way’s possible, it was essentially the same show. There was still no dialogue from the leaving students, though Haruna stamped her feet, in what I’m assuming is a “Usgai get your butt out of this classroom NOW” type thing. Shame, because that bit of ‘see you’ ‘oh we have homework’ type thing did the same as Usagi – make it more human and natural.

I’m going to be biased and say my favourite part was when Usagi runs through the audience at the start yelling that she’s late. I currently have blue hair, so I stick out, and I was right where she runs past. When she’s running, she talks to a few audience members. Standing out, she pointed at my necklace.

“Wow! That necklace is cute! How much was it?” Me: -doing my best goldfish impression because Kasai Tomomi si ridiculously cute in person and talking to me?????- “WOW! A million dollars?! EXPENSIVE!”

She then ran off, remembering she was late. (All of this was in Japanese.)

So considering she was the reason I came, I more than feel like I got my money’s worth from this show XD

Song part Same same. But different.

This cast definitely had a much more powerful La Soldier, but I liked heart team’s Otome no Policy better. Their voices were softer and a lot better for the more emotional songs imo.

For Moonlight Densetsu, when they were walking around the audience, I managed to get high fives from all of them bar Moon and Mask~

Mercury came by first briefly, followed by Venus iirc, then Jupiter (she’s got such a nice smile!~) and then Mars. Mars kinda dragged her hand so it was a long high touch haha

At the end of the show, they release a bunch of streamers? I’ve honestly never seen the point of grabbing them because what do you do with them?? But I grabbed one that night. Lucky I was so quick because a staff member came up straight away to snatch them away lol

(But what do I do with it..?)

The crowd was really interesting. A lot of the crowd was male, and there for Tomomi (a lot of female fans were too). However, a lot of the dudes had no idea what Sailor Moon was meant to be about (beside magical girl) so while waiting before the show (which started 15 minutes late? Everyone was getting low key annoyed) and after, waiting for the high touch, a lot of girls were trying to explain to these middle aged business men what the show was about. So shout out to the Sailor Moon community for being cool with new people coming into the fandom, even if it is for just a moment.

High Touch The line up was Jupiter, Mercury, Mask, Moon, Mars, Venus.

I barely had any time with Jupiter, but she has a pretty smile so who cares. I told her today was great and she was happy with that. Mercury commented that we had the same colour hair so I stan her for life now. She’s so cute! Mask remembered me from the other day~ (I mean, how many blue haired foreigners have come to see the show?? ;;;) There was a little bit of a hold up, so I was able to hold her hand~ I told her today was amazing and I’d continue to support her, and the returning smile I got killed me.

Tomomi also remembered me! “Oh! It’s you from earlier!” Again, told her it was great and I’d support her. She looks so good as Moon? Like, really natural. I forgot how short she was tho ;; She’s a good 12cm shorter than me lol

Mars was so cool and kind too. Same for Venus, but as much as I liked her, Sena is the only Venus for me. Sorry!

Tonight I got Mars as my bookmark thing, so I’m super happy! Overall, this experience was fun! Tonight was an amazing night, and Chiyuu did such a great job as Moon, so I’m sure by closing night she had it seriously nailed. The whole three times were great fun, and I had debated getting a forth ticket. Not only is that slight overkill, but the rest of the shows were only giving goods away, so not worth it. But a great night was had and I’d highly recommend the show. Go see them in France if you can!

Sailor Moon Musical - Le Mouvement Final

So on the 23rd of October I went to Aichi to see the Sailor Moon musical~ Our bus arrived at 6am, so we spent the day chilling and checking out the Pokemon Centre and the poor selection of Digimon items at Kiddyland…

From Nagoya, it took an hour and a half by train to get to the venue, Ai Plaza Toyohoshi. We were cutting it really close (missed a train), but managed to power walk there in time. Thankfully goods were being sold in the break and after the show.

Unfortunately, the venue was dead.

The first floor is S tickets (8000 yen), the top floor is A tickets (6000 yen?). A third of the first floor was occupied, with a smattering of seats in the top part.

I feel so bad for all the cast and crew. It must have been really awkward to be singing to a bunch of empty seats. I’m not sure how much this was promoted, but having the venue so far out of the city really didn’t help things.

Personally, I had wanted to go to see the show in Osaka, but thanks to Aichi not being sold out, we ended up having really amazing seats ;; We were ninth row from the stage and I was on an aisle seat. It was seat 29, and I was going fight my friend for seat 30 (lucky number lol) but I’m glad I didn’t.

The show itself is explanatory. It’s the finale of the manga.

The start with Mamoru half proposing was wonderful. You could feel the audience’s hearts getting excited for Usa. It was obviously much more condensed than the manga, which I was thankful for. It gave us time to jump straight into things; however, the cute dance between Mamo and Usa at the start was really nice!

Chibi-usa was gone from the start, instead of leaving part way through. Ami is the one to notice something is wrong with Usagi, rather than Minako. Iron Mouse isn’t killed straight up either. She’s able to go back to Galaxia, say she’ll do better next time and gets a reprieve after having her butt handed to her. We get a rift in the four Galaxy Sailors here.

(Honestly, Seiren and Crow can step on me any day of the god damn week)

Chibi Chibi is insanely adorable. I am honestly not a fan of small children, don’t want kids and always ??? at people when they try to coo and tell me how cute their munchkin is. But damn. This kid was cute. It didn’t feel fake sweet or like she was out of place.

I also really enjoyed the scene where the girls are trying to figure out whats up with the Lights. Minako mentions they might be chicks. Setsuna has chibi faces of them on a white board. “….then they’d wear mini skirts if they were scouts…” A fight ensures as she tries to fuku them up, while Minako and Makoto are mortified haha

Usagi being forced to remember what happened to Mamo happened straight after Mercury and Jupiter dying, so it was very raw. I don’t think Venus’ loss really had as much of an impact. Rei’s did. For me, at least. Rei’s always been my number one girl, but her last thing she said was ‘sorry we couldn’t protect you’. I think it says a lot about her character, especially when most other people just said ‘Usagi’.

Usagi has a dream where everyone is alive and Mamo’s a chef and it’s all just very pure and sweet and then she wakes up and everyone’s still dead The scene in front of the door was sufficiently eerie. I think Usagi’s wavering and ChibiChibi’s innocence helped this scene a lot as well.

At one point after the interval, Galaxia is singing. She walks down the aisle, right next to me. HO DAMN! Even with those stupid coloured lips she’s amazing! Her performance was one of the best, even when she was speaking, her expressions and pose said it all.

Kakyuu’s death was touching. As was the Lights. The problem with this arc is that everyone dies. Done in a weekly anime or manga, it’s probably more emotional, but losing 10+ characters in under three hours makes it a little less so. In saying that, I cried a couple of times lmao It was nice that there weren’t as many Senshi tho. This isn’t Oprah folks.

The scene where everyone is resurrected was great. The song was powerful, the girls looked bad ass. Wonderful. 100/10. Chibi Chibi talking to Chibi Moon was also really good. And of course, when she transformed as well. Everything about her is just stunning. Her outfit was perfect, she was perfect, 100% would cry over again.

I also really like how it discusses all the past enemies. They put up images of all the old enemies, up to Galaxia, on a sheet that came down in front of the stage. It gave it a warped feeling, and kinda made it more space like. Unlike the manga, the musical goes more into detail about who Cosmos is. Same about the whole siblings thing.

The wedding scene was really cute. I’m not sure if it happened in all versions, but Minako said she’d definitely get married next. Of course, Rei is the one that catches the bouquet ;;

Once everything is finished, The End comes up on the screen. They also do a montage of the previous musicals from this run. A lot of the audience was emotional. I only saw last year’s and this year’s live, but it’s super nostalgic. Afterwards, they did the usual performance stuff, mixed with songs from previous musicals as well. Yuuga was both Tuxedo Mask and King Endymion. She teases the audience so well I can't deal with her.

There was a point Yuuga came down the aisle. Yes, right next to me. We made eye contact. I squealed and leaned into my friend after she passed. The crowd was losing it. At one point a dude behind me asked his SO ‘…that’s a dude right?’ and the SO just scoffed ‘no’.

I’ve always understood Yuuga’s appeal, but it never clicked with me personally. But nine rows from her? I get it. Even my friend, who is a as straight as an arrow, went wow a few times. God bless Yuuga.

My heart’s still racing <3

It would have been nice to see the Crows in their true form. And get to see more of the girls going back to their own castles and stuff, but what can you do? Considering the time frame, they got through a heck of a lot of this arc, and there’s only so much they can do with budget constraints. Aichi certainly did not help in that. I’m honestly not sure why they didn’t make tickets cheaper and just give those that had pre booked an extra bonus or something (as it is we got cute post cards)

This musical had a really nice balance of comedy and seriousness. It felt quite real. The directorship was really good. Some of the songs were repeated from earlier musicals. Considering they were some of my faves, I’m not complaining.

The cast was excellent, as always. Thanks to the seats, I was able to see in so much more detail and was able to make lots of eye contact with the cast haha! Uranus completely stole my heart with her gaze <3

At one point I was signing up to buy the dvd. Unfortunately I didn’t ask if I could pay later (has happened other times I preorder these dvds). She didn’t confirm that with me either. So I filled out the form only to tell her I didn’t have the cash (how much money do they expect people to have on them?? Most people were spending at least 3000 on goods (many were spending more) so they expected you to have at least 20,000 ($200) on you for one musical? That’s ridiculous). She was honestly really fucking rude and basically snatched the form out of my hands and tossed it in the trash. The staff at Osaka were so much nicer.

The guys at the door were cool, and a lady was sitting in our seat. I didn’t want to cause a scene so we went to a staff member and asked to be guided to our seat (obviously he then mentioned the other chick was in the wrong seat). There was a surprising amount of foreigners, considering how few people were actually there ;; Someone I knew actually saw me but I didn’t see them haha ;;; The fans were really nice.

Except for that old fucker who felt asleep and started snoring before the interval. Fuck him. (There was a lot of old people there? Like I’m talking 55+?? Why)

Anyway, as we left, walking back to the station, a lady cut in front of us. It was one of the actresses! She had track pants with an off the shoulder white shirt, which I thought was a little odd, but then I saw she still had the shoes on. I’m still trying to figure out who she is. We didn’t approach her – she had headphones in, and kept glancing around to make sure people weren’t following her. That’s one reason why crowds are kicked out so quickly here – this is the third time I’ve seen cast leave. Depending on the area/fame, they’ll walk or taxi out of the venue, so the chance of them being spotted and harassed is pretty high. The faster the crowds are gone, the safer it is for them. In any case, I hope she enjoyed whatever she bought lol

I enjoyed it! If I lived closer I’d go see it again. I heard other people say the same. My friend was surprised by how professional it was. She really enjoyed it! I recommend seeing it if you can! If not, please support it officially where possible. Also, if you have any questions feel free to ask! This isn’t as in depth as normal, sorry ;;
