So Prin Ori?
How do they feel about the other members of canonically known royalty in the world of Dragonsbayne and how would they react in a scenario where said royals were all thrown into a room for a very important royal meeting etc?
did a kind of experimental "who thinks what" chart for the main three! obviously the thoughts of geel and vanille are largely up to you but this is what i've been toying with :^) it was also an excuse to draw geel and vanille shh
Prin Ori is very much passive - they're well aware that they tend to be overlooked in a room of powerful figures, and that actually works in the Dreamers' favour. a leader who doesn't draw attention is one that doesn't draw the ire or malice of people like Geel.
i think dreamers in general also don't have a particularly impressive reputation - theirs is quiet work, and their power is limited to the realm of sleep. etc etc. who cares if they're at a meeting or not, really?
Ori's presence is also overshadowed by the fact that the Prince/Princess/Prin will always be accompanied by an older, more experienced Dreamer - in Ori's case, it's Lavender's uncle who i still have yet to name. this accompanying councillor will usually field questions and respond, whereas the actual monarch will just sit there and listen.
in a meeting between leaders, Ori is the one to speak last, and quietest. most of the goings-on of a meeting like that will float over their head in a way that makes the other parties think the Dreamers are either rudely disinterested or psychologically incapable of dabbling in political affairs.
neither is true. Dreamer monarchs remember what was said, and if they've done their research beforehand, probably already know what you really think! they just never find good enough cause to meddle in the politicking, and neither does their extended council. they'd rather leave everyone else to it and not draw hassle for the Dreamers.
so i guess how it goes is that Ori doesn't cause any trouble, and will not rise to any trouble directed their way. even Geel will have trouble getting a rise out of them. Vanille may at least get a fraction of respectful conversation due to old treaties, but nothing she can really use or learn from.
(i have this idea - lemme know what you think! - that maybe the Fae and the Dreamers have a kind of long-standing truce, dating way back. they don't have much to do with each other, but when they do, it's relatively respectful and there are lines that are not to be crossed. the Fae have never quite gotten the hang of what it is that Dreamers actually do, though they have come the closest to finding out.)

Today we celebrate the Holy Great Virgin Martyr Dymphna of Geel. Saint Dymphna was from Ireland whose mother was a Christian but died young and whose father was a pagan. In an attempt to find a second wife as beautiful and charming as his first, he could not find any but his own daughter, Dymphna. Falling into lustful desire for her, Dymphna fled the country, away from her father, and went to Belgium with the priest Gerebran. Saint Dymphna's father eventually found them, slaughtering both the holy priest and his own daughter who was only 15 years of age. Saint Dymphna is considered the patron saint of mental health and the abused and often performs miracles for those who pray to her with faith. May the Greatmartyr intercede for us all + #saint #dymphna #greatmartyr #virginmartyr #martyr #pagan #christian #saintdymphna #priest #gerebran #ireland #irish #gheel #geel #belgium #patronsaint #patron #orthodox #saintoftheday (at 'T Geel, Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdjVlPmvXAj/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Some more lore for the Maokon tribe:
Throughout their lives maokon will have two main beaded bracelets/ necklaces
The first tracks their rank in the tribe (1 color only)
The second has two colors unique to that specific muds physique ( pink eyes red skin = pink and red beads)
When a couple bonds they give their partner two of these beads to add to their special bracelet
Thus others know they are taken
Along with how many partners they have
If a partner dies
Survivor will keep one of those beads
it will be colored partially black
If the duo separate the bead will instead be colored white
mudlings carry two smaller beaded bracelets
one shows the feather color of their parents
the other their siblings
As adults these bracelets instead indicate children and siblings
A third set, always worn as a necklace, represents their significant others
